The Orlando Summer ID took place on Tuesday, July 7, at The First Academy in Orlando, FL. The event featured players from the 2027-2031 classes participating in a pro-style workout, followed by bullpens in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

Today, we will share quick notes on the standouts from Tuesday’s event.

POWER BATS

2027 Christian Gomez put on a show in Orlando, with an exit velocity of 104.0 mph. Gomez displayed quick hands and impressive power to the pull side, logging a max distance of 398 ft. 2028 Isaias Torres led the event with both a 104.4 mph exit velocity and max distance of 417 ft. 2027 Kinon Bastian had a 101.8 mph exit velocity, producing several line drives during his BP session.

PITCHERS

2028 Isaias Torres touched 93.4 mph on the radar gun, the highest velocity of the event. Torres also threw a slider (82.7 mph, 2028 RPM), changeup (80.5, 968), and a splitter (82.8, 822). 2027 Alexander Roman threw a slider (84.3 mph) that averaged 3011 RPM. Roman’s arsenal also featured a fastball (88.7 mph, 2784 RPM), changeup (82.7, 1797), and a curveball (75.1, 2843). 2027 Eaden Pullen’s fastball was 90.4 mph. Pullen also showed off a slider (80.4, 2175) and a splitter (80.1, 1010). 2028 Owen Lenzen’s fastball topped out at 90.2 mph. Lenzen’s arsenal also included a changeup (83.3, 1017) and a curveball (76.7, 2855).

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

2028 Aiden Kearney showed off a strong arm during the infield work, with an event-best 90 mph from the shortstop position. He was followed by 2027 Dylan Zack (84 mph) and 2027 Carson Dicks (83 mph). 2027 Mason Dicks impressed during the outfield segment, hitting 83 mph on the radar gun. 2028 Austin Long (82 mph) and 2027 Keeran Venkat (80 mph) were right behind him.

ATHLETES

2027 Christian Gomez stood out with an event-leading 6.50 60-yard dash time, adding on a 23.2-inch vertical jump as well. 2028 Fabian A. Vilchez (6.81 seconds) and 2028 Aiden Kearney (6.99) were the other two players to run a sub-7-second 60-yard dash. 2028 Austin Long had the best vertical at 24.8 inches.

CATCHING STANDOUTS

2027 Caleb Soto had an excellent day at the Orlando Summer ID, leading the group in both pop time (1.93-2.02) and velocity to second base (80 mph). 2027 Ethan Figueroa (74 mph) and 2029 Logan Chen (73 mph) were right behind him.
