2026 Southeast Super Sophomore Games: Florida Quick Hits

The 2026 Southeast Super Sophomore Games took place on August 1-2, at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA. The event featured players from the 2029 class participating in a pro-style workout, followed by multiple games in front of the Prep Baseball Scouting Staff.

Today, we will share quick notes on some of the Florida standouts from this weekend’s event.

PITCHERS

Florida had three of the highest fastball velocities of the entire event led by Knox Myers who was up to 92.0 mph. Right behind him was William Miller at 91.2 mph, followed by Carter Lewis who was up to 90.3 mph. Lewis had one of the best extensions on the fastball averaging 6-foot 5 inches. Evan Leach, Tripp Korb, and Chase Bross had three of the highest curveball spin rates at the event. Leach 2695 rpm, Korb 2545 rpm, and Bross 2489 rpm. Knox Myers splitter averaged 706 rpm.

POWER BATS

1B Riley Weidman finished fifth overall at the event in max exit velocity where he recorded 102.1 mph. Trevor McClintick finished second amongst Florida players with a max EV of 100.6 and Chase Bross was third with 99.7 mph. 10 Florida players had a max EV over 95 mph. Kai Jacobs had one of the highest average exit velocities at 93 mph. Gant Ramsey led Florida players in max distance, sending a ball 389 feet.

ATHLETES

In the 60-yard dash, Evan Sproull led all Florida players with a 6.67 60 time. He also had the best 30 time at 3.73. Joshua Trautmann was second in the 60 amongst Florida players with a 6.73 and Colton McClenaghan finished third with a 6.83. McClenaghan led all Florida players in the vertical jump and had the second highest at the entire event jumping 30.4 inches. Kaden Ramsey had the second highest vertical from Florida players jumping 28.8 inches.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

Knox Myers led all infielders in the defensive workout with a 92 mph infield velo. Right behind him was Colton McClenaghan up to 90. Evan Sproull, Chase Bross, Eli Cruz, Bam Gartman, Kaleth Fradera, and Josue Trinidad were all 86+ mph across the infield. In the outfield, Parker Gibson and Carter Lewis finished top five in outfield velo both up to 91 mph.

CATCHING STANDOUTS

Florida catchers impressed during the workout as seven catchers had sub-2.00 pop times. Henry Arndt and Gant Ramsey led all Florida players with a 1.89 best pop time. Right behind them were Kaden Ramsey (1.91), Bruce Godwin (1.92), Zaun French (1.94), Billy Shephard (1.96), and Justin Caraballo (1.98). Arndt had the best catcher velocity at 78 mph.
