NorCal Future Games Tryout: Pitcher Analysis

On May 31st, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the NorCal Future Games Tryout at University of Pacific in Stockton, Cal. This was an invite-only event for 2028 graduates, and gave our staff an ample look at the area’s top prospects.

Today, we will we’re taking a look at all of the pitching prospects from the event, along with a top-5 ranking of who impressed our staff the most.
TOP-5 PITCHING PROSPECTS
1. Carter Grant, Alameda (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: LHP/1B Projectable right hander with present strength and complimentary two pitch mix.
Body: 6-1, 195-pounds. Proportionate build with present strength in frame.
Delivery: LH that moves fluidly down the mound, using a high leg kick out of the stretch.
Arm Action: LH. High three-quarter arm slot, with extension and intent behind each pitch.
FB: T89, 86-89 mph. 4 seam action used to power past hitters. T2101, 2043 average rpm.
CB: 72-73 mph. Slow 12-6 action with gradual depth. tunnels off FB well. T2021, 1968 average rpm.
CH: 72-73 mph. Fades glove side with noticeable depth. T1424, 1392 average rpm.
