Savannah Summer ID-Quick Hits

Tucker Wingate, C, 2028, Effingham County
Coming off a strong spring this was our first collective look at Wingate as a group and he may have been the biggest winner of the event. Physical, broad-shouldered 5-foot-11, 176-pounds with present tools throughout. Athleticism stands out in the frame as he ran a 7.08 60-yd with a 1.66 10-yd. Hammered baseballs to the pull-side in a potent round of BP as he posted the event-best max 101.5 and average 92.1 exit velocities in a line-drive centered approach. Maintains balance in a positive move-forward with ground-up strength. Heavy barrel through the zone in a linear path with present bat speed and accuracy alike. Chance for a future plus glove behind the plate with athletic actions throughout. Solid footwork into lightning quick transfers with excellent arm strength. Event best 82 MPH C Velo and a 1.94 pop time. Strong blocking and receiving skills as well to round out the profile. Wingate offers the type of profile that coaches will want to circle come August 1st.

Brayden Austin, RHP/1B, 2027, Savannah Christian
The uncommitted junior put together a standout performance on both sides of the ball throughout. Athletic 6-foot-0, 178-pounds with tools to project. On the mound, showed good drive downhill with present arm speed and ability to repeat from a three-quarters slot. Filled up the zone with feel for the deep mix and pitchability stood out. Fastball lived 83-85 (T86 MPH) with heavy arm-side run through the zone. Cutter tunneled well off the fastball with sharp glove-side movement at 77-78. Curveball was flipped over with bite at 77-78. Changeup could be a future advanced offering with diving action at 76-78. Found the barrel regularly during BP as he finished the round with a max 92.5 and average 85.6 exit velocities. Works from a balanced load while keeping his hands inside with length and leverage in-zone. Austin should be a key two-way piece for the Raiders come next spring and could draw interest across multiple different levels. Arm strength present from the outfield and 2nd in the event with an 85 MPH OF velo.

Tripp Mascaro, 1B/RHP, 2028, West Laurens
Obvious physicality in the box with tons of strength in the 6-foot-3, 219-pound frame. Heavy barrels to all-fields throughout the round with multiple 90 + exits off the bat. Max 93.5 and average 87.6 exit velocities with a max distance of 342ft. Well-leveraged barrel with excellent length in-zone and real impact out front that creates loft at contact for carry to all parts of the field. On the mound, creates drive downhill with present strength in the lower half and fills up the zone. Fastball sat 76-80, showed a slider at 68-70, and a changeup at 66-69 as well. Mascaro will look to fill multiple key roles next spring for the Raiders who aim to build off a deep playoff run.

Cal Womack, SS/RHP, 2030, South Effingham
Womack showed well in basically every category for the Rising Stars group and has a real chance to compete for a starting spot day 1 for the Mustangs. Ran a 7.20 60 (1.68 10-yd) that will only continue to get better with added strength in due time. Simple trigger and maintains balance in a flat path while staying through the ball well. Worked to both gaps well as he finished the round with a max 86.2 exit velocity. Looked the part defensively in the dirt with soft hands and smooth transfers. Arm strength and accuracy to the bag stood out as he posted an INF velo of 81 MPH. Impressive look at the rising freshman on the mound as well. Compact arm stroke and delivery with some present arm speed while showing feel for all three. Fastball lived 77-79 with arm-side run through the zone. Curveball created two-plane depth at 65-66. Flashed a changeup with some tumble at 66-68 as well.

Landon Spence, MIF, 2028, Effingham County
Excellent all-around showing from Spence with strength and athleticism on display in the lean, broad-shouldered 6-foot-1,168-pound frame. Kicked off the day by running the event best 60 at a 6.98 backed by a strong first step (1.68 10-yd). Barrels throughout BP in a line-drive oriented approach and produced a max 94.7 exit velocity. Quiet actions at the plate while staying compact and balanced in a quick trigger with present accuracy in the barrel. Quality look in the dirt with soft hands and range to all directions while showing budding arm strength as well.

Ethan Tinker, RHP/3B, 2029, Cambridge
Tinker showed well early this summer and carried it over into the showcase setting where he put together a strong performance on both sides of the ball. Lean 5-foot-11,152-pounds with tools to project. All over the barrel in a pull-side heavy round of BP as he posted a max 94.4 exit velocity. Utilizes a toe-tap trigger as he stays balanced and keeps a level path with present barrel feel in-zone. Present lateral quickness in the dirt with arm strength (83 INF velo) and accuracy to the bag. On the mound, Tinker is an athletic mover down the slope with the ability to repeat well from a lower slot. Lived in the zone with a 3-pitch mix. Fastball showed heavy through the zone at 80-82 with a max RPM 2409. Mixed in a curveball at 73-74 and a changeup at 76-77 as well.

Isaiah Stanley, OF/SS, 2030, Richmond Hill
This was our first look at Stanley as a staff and after a well-rounded showing he looks every bit of a must know name in the state. Tons of athleticism litters the broad-shouldered 5-foot-9, 169-pound frame with lean strength throughout. Opened the day by clocking in at a 7.02 60 with ability to reach top speed quickly. Consistent barrels in BP as he worked through the middle of the field with ease as he posted a max 89.5 and an average 82.7 exit velocity. Maintains balance in a bigger leg lift load and creates quality separation at the plate. Explosive barrel with present bat speed and ball jumps at contact in an extremely compact path. Strong defensive actions with a chance to profile both across the dirt and grass long-term. Bouncy, fluid footwork and good routes to the ball with budding arm strength as he finished with an 84 INF and 83 OF velo. Stanley boasts the type of profile to be a potential impact player right away for the Wildcats come next spring.

Andrew Wallace, OF/RHP, 2029, Calvary Day
It was a strong all-around showing from the incoming sophomore, especially looking the part on the mound. Athleticism and arm speed standing out in the lean 5-foot-6, 139-pound frame with ability to repeat the lower three-quarters slot well. Fastball showed consistent arm-side life while working 82-83 and present feel for the zone. Slider flashed at 72-73 with some late two-plane break while holding the fastball plane well and will continue to grow as the feel is building quickly. Changeup might be the most advanced in the mix, working 77-79 with some late fade and ability to tunnel that shows the makings of a future out pitch. At the plate, Wallace shows a quick toe-tap trigger that keeps him well-balanced from the right-side with ability to stay on-plane in the slight steep path. Worked to the pull-side throughout the round with a max EV at 84.5. The outfielder would close his day with one of the best numbers from the OF at 87 and round out the higher-floor showing.

Drew Giles, 1B/3B, 2027, Glynn Academy
Armed with a stout 5-foot-9, 204-pound frame, Giles generates big-time strength from the ground up and put together one of the louder rounds of BP on the day. Quiet, balanced setup in the box with ability to stay short to it and allow for the strength in the hands/wrists shine in the well-leveraged path. Finished the day 2nd in both average EV (91.3) and max EV (99.1) paired with leading the event in both max and average distance at 375ft and 235ft respectively. Moves well for the frame with a 7.13 60 and showed strong actions to match at 1B with good lateral range. Big pieces to replace for Glynn Academy next spring and Giles has a real chance to fill a significant role as they try to make another deep playoff run.

Callan O’Neil, 3B/C, 2030, Benedictine Military
The rising freshman had himself a great day both at the plate during BP and in the field during defensive work. He showcased what he can do at the plate by having a max EV of 91 and hit a ball 334 ft. Standing in at 5-foot-9 and already weighing 174-pounds, O’Neil already possesses a solid frame and it is only going to get better as he gets older and continues to grow and get stronger. O’Neil worked from behind the plate and took grounders as an infielder. From behind the dish he had a 2.35 pop time and delivered accurate throws down to second right on target. Working in the infield he looked just as good, looking comfortable taking grounders from SS and made his 1st baseman’s job very easy by giving them throws right to the chest at 75 mph.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-media-max-width="560"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">2030 3B/C Callan O’Neil <a href="https://x.com/BCbaseball1902?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@BCbaseball1902</a> <br><br>5-foot-9, 174-pounds. <br><br>Loose, strong hands with ability to create leverage through the zone & some pull-side carry. <a href="https://x.com/hashtag/SavannahID26?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#SavannahID26</a> <a href="https://t.co/uuPg68gwDz">pic.twitter.com/uuPg68gwDz</a></p>— Prep Baseball Georgia (@PrepBaseballGA) <a href="https://x.com/PrepBaseballGA/status/2074508214247317702?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 7, 2026</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Jaxon Reed, C/OF, 2028, Effingham County
Reed had himself one of the better rounds of BP during the Savannah ID. Standing in at a physical 5-foot-11 and weighing 191-pounds, Reed showed off his advanced feel for the barrel by hitting the ball hard to all parts of the field, including multiple pull-side home runs with a max EV of 96 and a max distance of 359 ft. From behind the dish, Reed had a 2.03 pop time with accurate throws right on the bag and received the ball well and all around looked like a great athlete from behind the plate. Reed showed more of the same when working out of the OF, by putting good firm throws right on the money to the catcher. Reed is most definitely a name to keep tabs on during the 2027 regular season.

Cade Womack, 1B/OF/LHP 2028, South Effingham
Womack had himself an all around solid day at the park. Standing in at 5-foot-9 and weighing 167-pounds, Womack has an athletic frame and a good looking swing from the left side. He was able to showcase his abilities to spray the ball to all parts of the field by using a simple approach at the plate. Womack shagged some balls in the outfield as part of the outfield group and his arm looked very steady and delivered some accurate throws to the plate. Showed off some good range by hustling to some balls a little out of his way as well.
