Fort Myers Summer ID/Rising Stars ID: Quick Hits

The Fort Myers Summer ID took place on Tuesday, June 16, at Bishop Verot in Fort Myers, FL. The event featured players from the 2027-2030 classes participating in a pro-style workout, followed by bullpens in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

POWER BATS

2027 Chase Webster had an event-leading 104.5 mph exit velocity, displaying effortless power to the pull-side. He also had a max distance of 369 ft. 2027 David Scudder (102.5 mph) and 2027 Michael Magas (101.7 mph) were right behind him. Magas had the farthest distance on the day at 396 ft, showing off power potential to all fields.

PITCHERS

2027 Evan Handelong had the highest fastball velocity of the event at 86.4 mph, with that fastball averaging 2377 RPM. He also featured a slider and changeup. 2027 David Scudder threw an 85.8 mph fastball with 2216 RPM, while also mixing a slider (77.7 mph, 2171 RPM).

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

2027 David Scudder recorded a 90 mph infield velocity from shortstop, the best of the event. 2029 Adrian Carmona displayed quick hands and good accuracy, with an infield velocity of 84 mph. 2027 Noah Kiefer threw an accurate 90 mph during the outfield session of Tuesday’s showcase.


ATHLETES

2027 Noah Kiefer led the showcase with a 6.91-second 60-yard dash, followed by 2027 Michael Magas (6.98), 2027 Anthony Cabrera Valera (7.03), and 2027 Chaz Templeton (7.06). Magas also led the event in left-handed grip strength at 154.0 lbs. 2027 David Scudder had the best right-handed grip strength at 160.0 lbs.


CATCHING STANDOUTS

2027 Chaz Templeton had a strong showing in Fort Myers, with a 1.87-1.97 pop time and 79 mph catcher velocity. 2029 Julian Lima and 2029 Easton LaRocco each had 75 mph throws to second base.
