The 2026 high school baseball season came to an end just under a month ago and we're now in full swing with the summer circuit.  The 2026 spring was another fantastic one in the Bayou State and for us at Prep Baseball Louisiana.  Our staff, which includes myself and Area Scouts Tyler Leary, Davis Johnson, and Sawyer Seguin were able to get out and see over 150 games this spring.  That's the most that we've ever seen in one spring season and we're going to aim to see even more next season.  

Now that the season is complete, it's time for us to unveil our Honorable Mention All-State Team for the 2026 season.  Thank you again to all of the players, teams, coaches, parents, and fans for another stellar high school season.  

 

2026 PREP BASEBALL LOUISIANA HONORABLE MENTION ALL-STATE TEAM

PITCHERS

Logan Sorrel RHP / 3B / Parkview Baptist, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 478 / POS: 171 The former Future Gamer and Kentucky recruit logged 55 innings and struck out 106 to only 23 walks with a 1.51 ERA.

Owen Nugent RHP / 3B / Archbishop Rummel, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 69 / POS: 16 Nugent was named Catholic League Pitcher of the Year after going 11-0 with a 1.16 ERA and 59 strikeouts across.

Logan Maricle LHP / 1B / Grace Christian School, LA / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 18 / POS: 2 The sophomore southpaw went 12-0 with a 0.24 ERA and struck out a whopping 190 hitters across 90 innings this spring.

Dane Bodin SS / RHP / Lutcher, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 84 / POS: 15 The Nunez Community College recruit went 8-0 with a 2.13 ERA and 63 strikeouts to held lead Lutcher to a state title.

Cayden Dartez LHP / OF / St. Thomas More, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 92 / POS: 14 Dartez went 10-4 with a 1.97 ERA and struck out 100 across 78 innings for the Cougars this spring.

Connor Smith RHP / 3B / Northshore, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 44 / POS: 17 The Jones College recruit went 8-2 with 3 saves and pitched to the tune of a 0.67 ERA with 101 strikeouts in 83.2 innings.

Jayce Ruiz RHP / 3B / Riverside Academy, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 29 / POS: 9 Ruiz went 7-2 with a 1.45 ERA and struck out 95 across 62 innings for Riverside Academy this spring.

Chase Mire RHP / C / Destrehan, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 158 / POS: 14 Mire had a stellar senior campaign going 9-1 with a 2.19 ERA and 51 strikeouts to only 9 walks for the Wildcats.

CATCHERS

Hudson Browning C / 3B / East Ascension, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 2 The Northwestern State recruit hit .364 with 3 home runs, 8 doubles, 2 triples, and drove in 20 runs for the Spartans this spring.

Charles Wilson C / RHP / Isidore Newman, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 179 / POS: 19 Wilson hit .333 with 2 home runs, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 21 runs batted in, and 42 runs scored for the Greenies. He also threw out 40% of attempted stealers and only had 7 passed balls all spring.

Brody Vicknair C / RHP / Riverside Academy, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 73 / POS: 11 Vicknair finished the year hitting .449 with 5 home runs, 15 doubles, and 27 runs batted in for Riverside Academy.

INFIELDERS

Carson Christ 2B / OF / Sam Houston, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 55 / POS: 1 Christ hit .328 with 10 home runs, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 38 runs batted in, and 35 runs scored, while taking home the Most Outstanding Player award at the Non-Select (Division I) state tournament.

Andrew Sharp SS / 2B / Captain Shreve, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 18 / POS: 3 The former Future Gamer and LSU-Eunice recruit hit .464 with 2 home runs, 13 doubles, 5 triples, 26 runs batted in, 51 runs scored, and also stole 26 bases.

Shepherd Gammon 3B / OF / LSU Laboratory, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 24 / POS: 3 The uncommitted junior finished the spring hitting .384 with 2 home runs, 17 doubles, 5 triples, and scored 49 runs for the Cubs.

Kaleb Guarisco 1B / OF / Hahnville, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 1 The former Future Gamer and Louisiana Tech commit hit .383 with 8 home runs, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 32 runs batted in, and 46 runs scored this spring.

Landree LeBlanc SS / RHP / St. Charles Catholic, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 44 / POS: 8 The uncommitted junior finished the spring hitting .381 with 2 home runs, 13 doubles, 3 triples, 38 runs batted in, and 35 runs scored for the state champion Comets.

OUTFIELDERS

Charlie Donaldson OF / LHP / Sam Houston, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 79 / POS: 17 Donaldson had a big spring for the state champion Broncos, as he finished hitting .336 with 9 home runs, 6 doubles, 3 triples, 34 runs batted in, and 26 stolen bases.

Eric St.Pierre OF / Lutcher, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 171 / POS: 17 St. Pierre hit .408 with 6 home runs, 11 doubles, and 41 runs batted in for the state champion Bulldogs this spring.

Braden Sanders OF / OF / Zachary, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 53 / POS: 12 The Grambling State recruit hit .346 with 2 home runs, 11 doubles, 1 triple, and 48 runs scored. Sanders also drew 40 walks to only 15 strikeouts and stole 38 bases.

Cooper Hawkins OF / 1B / St Thomas More Catholic High School, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 2 OverallRank: 375 / POS: 74 The former Future Gamer and Southern Miss commit hit .312 with 9 home runs, 12 doubles, 1 triple, 39 runs batted in, and 38 runs scored for the Cougars.

Dekohta Jones OF / Catholic High School, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 3 The former Future Gamer and South Alabama commit hit .347 with 3 home runs, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 36 runs batted in, and 38 runs scored, while also swiping 20 bases for the Bears.

UTILITY

Ty Lamartina C / RHP / Acadiana High School, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 23 / POS: 3 The former Future Gamer and Northwestern State recruit hit at a .336 clip with 2 home runs, 7 doubles, and 30 runs batted in this spring. Lamartina also went 7-1 with a 1.05 ERA and struck out 77 across 60 innings.

Spencer Guilbeau OF / RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 85 / POS: 18 The Nunez Community College recruit hit .385 with 6 home runs, 17 doubles, and drove in 44 runs. Guilbeau also went 9-0 on the mound with a 2.38 ERA and 92 strikeouts across 64.2 innings.

Devyn Downs SS / RHP / Sterlington, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 193 / POS: 43 The LSU commit finished the year hitting .360 with 3 home runs, 9 doubles, 5 triples, and drove in 38 runs. Downs also went 8-1 with a 1.74 ERA for the Panthers.

Jed Henry SS / RHP / South Beauregard, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 214 / POS: 35 Henry hit .416 with 1 home run, 12 doubles, 2 triples, 30 runs batted in, and 34 runs scored. He also went 9-1 with a 1.89 ERA and struck out 80 across 76.1 innings.

Gage Guidry RHP / SS / Vinton, LA / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 58 / POS: 20 The McNeese State recruit broke the Vinton hits and strikeouts record this past spring. He finished the year hitting .386 with 24 runs batted in, and he went 8-3 with a 1.41 ERA and struck out 127 across 80 innings.

Owen Galley 1B / RHP / Sam Houston High School, LA / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 2 The former Future Gamer and McNeese State recruit went 9-3 with a 1.34 ERA and struck out 77 across 73 innings for the Broncos.
