EMERSON, GA - The best uncommitted senior talent kicked off Future Games week at LakePoint in Georgia for the 2026 Senior Future Games. Teams from across the country will be showcasing their skills in front of coaches from across the country. Here is a look at the 23 players that will be representing Team West Coast, starting on Tuesday, July 21st.

The Team West Coast squad is composed of players from the states of California, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada. To begin the week, the players underwent a pro-style showcase workout with athletic testing captured via VALD for the 60-yard sprint test and jump testing. Offensively, the players utilized Blast Motion for swing metrics and Trackmand Technologies for batted ball data. Finally, they went through defensive testing at their primary spots. Opening day was then wrapped up by taking on Team New England in an eight-inning matchup.

Player Analysis Header

Trey Howell-Chase SS / OF / Rio Americano High, CA / 2027

Howell-Chase returns to LakePoint for Senior Future Games after a stellar showing in 2025 at the Future Games, but with a profile that has steadily trended up over the last year. The dynamic athlete posted the best 60-yard sprint time for the West Coast squad, coming in at 6.47, nearly .4 of a second faster than the second-best time from California players. He showed off the versatility his defensive profile has taken from attending last year as a dynamic CF defender who is now playing SS and showing the actions to stick on the dirt. Then add in what was amongst the best batting practice sessions of the day, which was filled with rockets through the middle of the diamond, peaking at 97 MPH for his max EV of the day.

Mason Hackler 3B / RHP / Turlock High, CA / 2027

Hackler is another Team NorCal 2025 Prep Baseball Future Games attendee who made the trip back and displayed a profile that has continued to improve since last July. He opened the day with the fourth-best run time at 6.93 60-yard time of the day and the actions on defense to play any corner spot on the diamond. But it was the loud batting practice the LH hitter took which shone brightest, with multiple balls hit north of 100 MPH while peaking at 106.3 MPH, showing carry in the air to the pullside over both rounds of batting practice.

Ryder Fredriksen OF / 2B / JSerra Catholic, CA / 2027

Fredriksen is strongly built at 6'1 198 lbs., with strength in his lower 1/2 that translates across his game entirely. His 6.98 60 was among the better ones on the day while showing the arm strength to handle all three OF spots defensively. Rounding out the day, his 99.3 MPH max EV came in a round filled with barrels to the middle of the field that went north of 90 MPH from a high-intent swing that has power potential.

Parker Lipp LHP / 1B / Jesuit High School, CA / 2027

Lipp is a two-way product out of NorCal who is rising quickly in the state, and his workout should only help to confirm the realistic potential of him as a true two-way product at the next level. Running a 6.81 60-yard sprint that was good for third best and just .02 away from being the second best of the day. Since he was starting the opening game on the mound, he didn't take on field defensive reps, but that didn't hold him back from showing a strong offensive profile with real impact from the LH side. He crushed a 100.8 MPH max EV with consistent 90+ MPH EVs over his two rounds of batting practice.

GAME RECAP:

Facing off against Team New England to open the game play portion of the event, Team West Coast came out swinging hot bats with four NorCal arms posting strong outings. Jumping out to an early 3-0 lead that got cut to 3-2 after the first inning, but would eventually get to 8-2 and finished with a Team West Coast 8-5 win.

On the mound, the workout standout Parker Lipp followed it up by throwing two strong innings that were highlighted by a FB up to 89 and four punchouts, including three coming on what was a sharp, biting upper 70s CB. Following Lipp was Jackson Gray for two scoreless innings of work, which was fronted by a strikeout and five whiffs from hitters. Camden Salisbury toed the rubber next for Team West Coast with two stellar innings of work, allowing one run over the two innings, but he struck out two hitters with a sweepy SLD that worked up to 77 MPH and a hard-riding FB north of 2400 RPM and peaking at 86 MPH. Closing out the day was a loose-armed and athletic right-hander Leo Rhein, who ran his FB up to 90 MPH and 2200-2400 RPMs of spin. Dropping in a sharp, biting 79-81 MPH SLD and top-down mid-70s CB to pair with his high-quality FB, he struck out two with six total whiffs from hitters.

At the plate, it was a strong showing from several West Coast hitters highlighted by both SS Mason Park and INF Jace Wooley stinging two RBI doubles to LF. Park followed his double with a walk and a deep F-9 to RF while Wooley added a walk to his day. OF Ryder Fredriksen picked up a pair of hits in his first two at-bats, both coming on the first pitch of his plate appearances. INF Landon Scott picked up a missile double into the RCF gap while drawing a walk; INF Mason Hackler had a single and walk to reach base twice in three plate appearances; and Lipp followed his strong outing on the mound by barreling a L-4 and drilling a double to RCF. SS Sebastien Grove had a two-strike single, and Trey Howell-Chase had a knock in his first at bat while driving a SAC F-8 to the base of the wall in straightaway CF.

Team West Coast will finish up their trip to Senior Future Games with a doubleheader taking on Team Canada and Team Mid-Atlantic on July 22nd.
