This past week gave players the opportunity to showcase their skills in multiple settings. From workouts and simulated gameplay at the PA State Games to high-level competition at the Northeast Invite, these events provided a look at some of the Northeast’s top talent, allowing players to display their tools in front of college programs from around the region.

Inside this notebook, we’re highlighting the standout performers from both events by diving into the data and identifying the players who stood out. From explosive offensive performances and impressive athletic testing numbers to dominant outings on the mound, these athletes made the most of their opportunities and put themselves firmly on the radar.

Sorted By Alphabetical Last Name Order

Jimmy Amplo, 2027, OF, The Shipley HS (PA)

Amplo’s bat was one of the biggest storylines of the PA State Games, as he produced some of the loudest offensive metrics in attendance. Amplo’s power-speed combo was on full display, as he recorded a 106.9 MPH max EV, 93.6 MPH average EV, driving the ball 391 ft, and running a 6.73 60-yard-dash. During gameplay, Amplo hit a towering HR over the batting cages in RF cementing himself firmly on college coaches radars.

Greyson Bell, 2028, LHP, Daniel Boone Area PA

The 6’2”, 185-pound left-hander continues to trend upward each time he takes the mound, consistently showing improvements in both stuff and overall pitchability. Bell made a couple of tweaks to his mechanics that are worth pointing out while still remaining sharp. Bell made a notable adjustment to his mechanics compared to his last showcase in February. He lowered his release height by nearly half a foot and reduced his extension off the mound by more than 1.5 feet, a change that helped generate increased horizontal movement on his mix while holding the same velocity from the preseason. This resulted in his FB generating more armside run on average making him even tougher to hit.

Mason Cevette, 2028, RHP/3B, Cedar Crest HS (PA)

Cevette posted eye-opening numbers across the board, finishing near the top of the leaderboard in numerous key metrics proving he is a force both at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, Cevette put his strength on full display, generating a 108.3 MPH max EV (best at session 2), a 100.9 MPH average EV, and drove the ball up to 419 feet. His two-way ability was further highlighted on the mound, where he ran his fastball up to 93 mph, while complementing it with an 84 mph slider and a 79 mph curveball. The 6’4”, 220-pound prospect projects well both at the plate and on the mound!

Jaxson Fedak, 2027, RHP, Crestwood HS (PA)

Fedak made the most of his PA State Games showing off his ability on the mound. He has two FB variations with the 4-seam to 90 mph with up 19" IVB and an 80-84 mph cutter. The offspeed consists of a 79 mph curveball with -12" IVB and HM, and a 80 mph knuckleball that keeps hitters guessing at the plate!

Grayson Fontaine, 2028, 1B/LHP, North Penn HS (PA)

Fontaine showcased one of the more complete two-way skill sets at the event, turning in standout performances both offensively and on the mound. Offensively, Fontaine generated a 106.9 MPH max EV, a 97.6 MPH average EV, and drove the ball up to 387 feet. The left-hander was equally impressive on the mound, adding another layer to his intriguing profile. His fastball ran up to 89 mph, while complementing it with an 77 mph slider and a 83 mph changeup. The 6’4”, 205-pound prospect added another strong chapter to his scouting report.

Beckett Gaiski, 2028, RHP, Malvern Prep (HS)

This right-hander continued to build momentum on the mound, turning in a performance that elevated his pitching stock. The FB sat 88-90, topping 91 MPH making himself a bonafide flamethrower. Pairing that with a slider that sat 75-78 MPH, with 2800 RPM, and -16” HM makes him nearly untouchable at this level.

Evan Groff, 2027, RHP, Central York (HS)

Throwing in the first live game of day 2 session 1, Groff wasted no time making a statement, producing standout metrics that immediately turned heads. The FB sat 86-89, topping 90 MPH with 19.5” IVB played well up in the zone. Pairing the heater with 3 offspeed pitches, including the CB 71-75, SL 75-78 with 19” of HM, and the CH 79-83 to keep hitters guessing. This 4 pitch mix was one of the most well-rounded at the event.

Carson King, 2028, RHP, Pine-Richland (HS)

Few pitchers turned more heads at the PA State Games than this 6-foot-2, 200-pound flamethrower, whose power arm made him one of the event's premier pitching prospects. The FB/SNK had numerous shapes and variations to it, getting up to 92 MPH with some up to 20” IVB and others up to 23.5” HM. The offspeed featured a SL 72-75 with tons of sweep up -17” of HM and a CH sitting 78-81. With hitters forced to account for more than 40 inches of horizontal movement across the arsenal, this becomes an uncomfortable at-bat from start to finish for hitters.

Dominic Lauletta, 2028, RHP, Plum HS (PA)

Lauletta continues to impress and add to his resume on the mound in 2026 with an impressive PA State Games performance. The 6’1”, 183-pound wiry athlete moves smoothly downhill off the mound. The FB sat 89-90 T91 with up to 21.5” IVB. Pair that with a CB that sat 76-78 MPH with up to 2135 RPM and a CH 80-82 with 1426 RPM, he presents a difficult challenge to hitters.

Dempsey Lawson, 2027, RHP, Parkland HS (PA)

The 6’4”, 213-pound right-hander emerged as one of the biggest storylines of Session 3 Day 1, turning heads with both his physical presence and on-mound performance. He competed with a bulldog mentality throughout his three innings of work, attacking hitters and challenging them in the strike zone from start to finish. Mechanically, Lawson has a slow and repeatable sidesaddle windup paired with a quick compact arm in the backswing. The fastball served as the foundation of a well-rounded three-pitch mix sitting 85-87 and was firm, generating on average 2250 RPM paired with 14” of IVB. The SL sat 69-72 MPH with a true sweeper profile, averaging 16.6” HM, with a max of 20.7”. With up to 2,052 RPM, the pitch showed late action with enough depth to miss bats and keep hitters from squaring it up.

Christopher Murray, 2027, SS, Downingtown High School East (PA)

Murray is one of the biggest risers after putting up some eye-opening metrics at PA State Games. Murray put his well rounded game on display with a 6.88 60-yard-dash, 80 mph infield velocity, a 100.7 max EV, and drove the ball to 376 ft during workouts. During simulated games, he had 4 extra base hits including a HR. The 5’10”, 180-pound prospect made major jumps metrically with his new found gap-to-gap power and has become a must follow for the rest of this summer.

Oliver Olson, 2029, RHP, Pennridge HS (PA)

The state of Pennsylvania has found its next rising arm, as this freshman pitcher showcased advanced traits well beyond his years. The 6’5”, 195-pound power arm has a long projectable frame that talent evaluators dream of. His arsenal features a FB ranging 86-89 T90 MPH with up to 18.6” IVB and 2254 RPM. Pair that with a hammer CB sitting 73-77 MPH with up to 2400 RPM and a CH 75-80 MPH with up to 19” of HM, he is amongst the top pitchers in the country for his class.

Cam Rakaczewski, 2028, SS, Greencastle-Antrim (PA)

The toolsy 2028 shortstop put together one of the more impressive all-around performances of Session 3, showcasing his athleticism across the board. He flashed advanced tools with a 6.79-second 60-yard dash, pairing it with a 90 MPH infield arm, and impacted the baseball offensively with a 99.5 MPH max exit velocity and 370-foot max distance. During gameplay, he hit a towering HR to LF showing off his present pull side pop. At 5'11", 180 pounds, the switch-hitting infielder possesses a strong, athletic frame with plenty of present tools, making him an intriguing prospect to follow the rest of the summer.

Colin Ryan, 2030, C/RHP, Malvern Prep (PA)

The future looks bright behind the plate, and this young backstop is quickly emerging as one of the more intriguing catching prospects in the region. During workouts, Ryan recorded a 98.9 max EV, 339 ft max distance, and a 2.09-2.19 pop-time range behind the dish. The left-handed batter emerged as a force during gameplay launching 2 HRs showing off his present gap to gap power as he continues to fill out his 6’1”, 180-pound frame.

Cole Tucholski, 2028, LHP/OF, Quakertown Community HS (PA)

Tucholski made the most of his PA State Games showing off his ability to impact the game at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, Tucholski generated a 103.3 MPH max EV, drove the ball up to 404 feet, and ran a 6.88 60-yard-dash. He was equally as impressive on the mound from the left side, where he ran his fastball up to 91 mph, while complementing it with a 79 mph cutter, a 67-71 mph curveball, and a 78 mph changeup.

Savario Vandetti, 2027, OF, Moon Area HS (PA)

The 5’9”, 167-pound outfielder proved that impact tools come in all sizes, filling up the leaderboard with advanced offensive and athletic metrics throughout the event. Vandetti’s advanced tools were on display with a 6.45 60-yard-dash (best at session 1), 82 mph outfield velocity, a 98.5 max EV, and drove the ball to 358 ft during workouts. During gameplay, he had a pair of hits and showed off his speed stealing a couple bases as well. The athletic outfielder's blend of speed and offensive impact should continue to draw attention from college programs as he remains uncommitted.
