Prep Baseball Report

Power 25 Update

Wisconsin Scouting Staff

Today we’re updating the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Power 25 Rankings once again as the regular season winds down. This was an eventful week which made for some volatility up and down the rankings, as two teams exited the top-25 which made way for two new teams to climb into the Power 25, one for the first time this season, led by new No. 22 Cedar Grove-Belgium.

WIAA HEADLINES

Let’s break down the movement inside our latest Power 25 update of 2026.

THE TOP-3

The top three remain unchanged heading into the final week of the spring season. No. 1 Muskego improved to 20-4 after a sweep against Arrowhead (16-6, 10-0) and single wins over South Milwaukee 11-1 and Indian Trail 4-3. No. 2 Germantown picked up three more wins improving to 23-0 on the season after a sweep over Sussex Hamilton (4-3, 6-0) and a win over Shorewood 7-6. No. 3 Kimberly improved their position in the conference standings winning two conference games against Oshkosh West 7-1, and Kaukauna 6-1.

RISERS

+ No. 4 Hudson (20-3): The Raiders move back inside the Top-5 after sweeping New Richmond (7-1, 3-0). Starting pitchers Mark Susa (2027) and Sam Abrahamson (2026) combined to toss 13 innings on the week allowing one run while striking out 14 batters.

+ No. 6 Wisconsin Lutheran (18-4): The offense continues to roll for the Vikings as they swept New Berlin West by a combined score of 24-2 and the pitching staff is debatably as deep as it has been in years. The same can be said for No. 7 Pewaukee (24-2) who are off a 4-0 week after scoring 46 runs on the week. Junior shortstop Cayden Burtness continues to swing a hot bat in the middle of the order collecting 12 hits on the week.

+ No. 9 West Bend West (21-1): The Spartans picked up two conference wins over Kettle Moraine Lutheran (13-1, 3-1). Junior Cullen Roell was a two-way standout on the week picking up three hits in Tuesday’s win and tossing a complete game in Thursday’s win.

+ No. 13 Mukwonago (17-7): Extended their win streak to eight after a 3-0 week with two conference wins over Waukesha West (4-2, 9-4) and a non-conference victory over Burlington. Senior shortstop Isaac Teisl (Wisconsin-Parkside) led the way on offense, swatting two home runs and driving in six runs for the Indians.

+ No. 15 Verona Area (17-7): The Wildcats improve to 17-7 on the year after a 3-0 week with two wins over Janesville Parker (8-7, 11-4) and a single win over Waunakee 3-0, falling to Turner 3-2 on Friday.

+ No. 16 Sun Prairie East (17-6): Coming off a 3-0 week with a sweep over Madison West (11-4, 11-2) and a win over Eau Claire Memorial 10-3. They are heading into arguably the biggest week on the schedule with a shot at the conference title still in play with two games against Madison Memorial this week.

+ No. 17 Kewaunee (23-0): The Storm is coming and Kewaunee remains undefeated on the season picking up three more wins against Coleman 7-5, Luxemburg-Casco 8-1 and Crivitz 16-0.

+ No. 18 Madison Memorial (16-5): The Spartans are on a nine game win streak after going 3-0 last week with a sweep over Sun Prairie West (7-0, 20-0) and a win over DeForest 11-6. They are looking ahead to arguably the biggest week on the schedule with two games against Sun Prairie East and a tough mid-week matchup against Monona Grove.

+ No. 20 Kiel (17-0): Remains undefeated on the year after picking up two big conference victories over a quality Brillion squad (4-3, 8-6) clinching the Eastern Wisconsin conference title in the process.

WELCOME…

+ No. 22 Cedar Grove Belgium (17-3): The Rockets make their way back onto the Power 25 after a 3-0 week. The lineup has continued to produce outside of the obvious talent leading the way on offense; the depth even extends to the mound with a number of capable arms to turn to.

+ No. 25 Jefferson (19-6): The Eagles debut at 25 for the first time this spring. The lineup is led by a pair of experienced seniors in SS Bentley Wagner (Wisconsin-Whitewater) and 3B/1B Gavin Berge (Carroll University) while there is depth throughout the classes on roster. CF/LHP Braxton Thiede (2028) is the reigning conference pitcher of the year and serves as one of the team's top arms while playing an upside centerfield with contact skills at the plate. Another sophomore two-way player in Tanner Bergey plays a big role for the Eagles as a middle-of-the-order bat and one of the go-to relievers out of the ‘pen.
