Wausau West erased a four-run first-inning deficit to surge past Wausau East 9-4 on Thursday. Wausau East ambushed the visitors early, jumping out to a quick 4-0 advantage in the bottom of the first inning sparked by RBI singles from Connor Lemirand and Zach Pearson, along with an RBI double by Tyler Staszak. However, Wausau West responded immediately, plating four runs in the top of the second to tie the game before seizing the lead for good with a three-run burst in the third, highlighted by an RBI triple from Will Stengl. Joe Graveen was masterful out of the bullpen to earn the victory for Wausau West, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings of relief. He completely shut down the opposition, allowing just three hits while striking out eight and issuing zero walks after starter Parker Helke exited in the first inning. Maverick Ekstrom took the loss in relief for Wausau East, surrendering five runs on five hits with three walks over 2.1 innings after starter Logan Glovinski allowed four runs through 1.1 frames. Graveen also paced the Wausau West offense by going a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Kam Blasky and Rohen Robbins each drove in a pair of runs.
