By: Gavin Smith
Manager, Content & Operations/Scout

Each week, IHSA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Illinois Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Illinois Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 6 Player of the Week honor to OF Logan Fernandez (Mount Carmel, 2026; Triton JC) and the Pitcher of the Week honor to RHP Dodger Friedrich (Lane Tech, 2028). Fernadez finished the week with 8-for-15, hitting three doubles, two home runs, driving in sixteen runs, and coming across to score seven times of his own for a total of twenty-three runs accounted for last week. Throughout the week, Friedrich tossed 10 innings, allowing only one hit, two walks, and zero runs with 14 strikeouts.
