2026 Future Games: Day 2 Recap

LAKEPOINT, GA – Another full day of action is in the books at LakePoint Sports, as the 2026 Senior Future Games wrapped up on Wednesday while Team Alabama took center stage for the opening workout of the Future Games. Alabama's representatives continued to make their presence felt throughout the day, with multiple quality performances on both sides of the ball before attention shifts to an even busier Thursday.
Senior Future Games
Team South closed out the 2026 Senior Future Games with two games on Wednesday, battling Great Lakes to a 4-4 tie in the morning before falling to South Plains, 11-3, in the finale. Alabama's representatives turned in several quality performances throughout the day, with the bats particularly coming alive during the latter stages of Game 3.
Game 2 vs. Great Lakes (T, 4-4)
RHP Ty McGinley worked two innings for Team South and continued to showcase a quality four-pitch mix. The right-hander operated at 85-87 mph and reached 88 mph with the fastball while mixing a 72 mph curveball, 76-78 mph slider, and 79 mph changeup. McGinley recorded a strikeout during his two innings of work.

LHP Addison Senn turned in one of the better outings of the day among Alabama's arms. After issuing walks to the first two hitters he faced, the southpaw settled in and limited the damage, allowing just one run on one hit while recording a strikeout. Senn worked at 84-85 mph with the fastball and featured a 76-77 mph slider that spun around 2,800 RPM.

Offensively, C Will Carter provided one of Alabama's biggest swings of the game with a double, while OF Slade Bounds continued to show his dynamic offensive profile by scorching a 99.4 mph single and adding a stolen base. OF Seth Hardin also reached base via walk after recording Alabama's lone hit in Tuesday's opener.
Game 3 vs. South Plains (L, 11-3)
Alabama's bats found their rhythm in the final game of the Senior Future Games, with several players putting together quality at-bats despite Team South's 11-3 loss.
3B Lawson Hare delivered a pair of hits, including an RBI double that came off the bat at 95 mph. Hardin capped a quality week at the plate with two more hits, shooting a single the other way before lining another up the middle at 95.3 mph.

C Eli Quinley added an extra-base hit with a backside double, while Bounds continued to impact the game with a backside RBI single, a run scored, and another stolen base.

On the mound, LHP Jordan Garcia showed why he is regarded as one of the top southpaws in Alabama's 2027 class. Garcia worked 86-88 mph and topped at 89.8 mph with the fastball, pairing it with a 75-77 mph slider and 76-78 mph changeup. He collected two strikeouts across his two innings of work.

RHP Aiden Kantmann also flashed quality stuff in the finale, opening his outing with a clean first inning. His fastball worked at 86-88 mph and reached 90.5 mph, while an 81-84 mph cutter and 75-77 mph slider that spun up to 2,496 RPM gave him multiple distinct weapons. Kantmann finished his two-inning appearance with a strikeout.

With Wednesday's finale, the Senior Future Games officially came to a close for Team South. Alabama's representatives received valuable exposure throughout the event and turned in numerous quality looks in front of the college coaches packed around LakePoint.
Future Games
While the Senior Future Games concluded, the 2026 Future Games got underway Wednesday with Team Alabama going through its pro-style workout in front of hundreds of college coaches.
Alabama's position players put together a strong collective showing during the workout, displaying the tools and athleticism that earned them spots at the country's premier uncommitted event. With the workout now complete, attention turns to game action beginning Thursday evening.
Team Alabama opens its schedule against Tennessee at 5:15 p.m. EST on Field 11. LHP Kingston Sims will handle innings 1-2 before LHP Mac Nunnally takes innings 3-4. LHP Drew Jackson III is scheduled for innings 5-6, with RHP/INF Brandon Garth Jr. closing out the night in innings 7-8.
What's Ahead
Thursday brings another major addition to the action at LakePoint with the start of the 2026 Junior Future Games.
Team Alabama's 2030 group will begin its week with the pro-style workout at 9:00 a.m. EST, while Team Southeast follows shortly behind at 9:15 a.m. EST. Both groups will have their first opportunity to showcase their tools on the national stage before game action gets underway.
Later in the day, Team Alabama's 2028 group takes the field against Tennessee at 5:15 p.m. EST to officially begin gameplay at the Future Games.
