Oregon Summer ID, Session III - Quick Hits

Dylan Grenz
Assistant Scouting Director

On Tuesday July 14th, Prep Baseball Oregon hosted the Oregon Summer ID - Session III at Linfield University in McMinnville, OR. Prep Baseball scouts evaluated high school athletes in the 2027-2030 graduating classes, with several strong showings throughout the event.

Summer ID events serve as an important tool for both Prep Baseball scouts and college recruiters, who will subsequently create lists of prospects to follow as they plan their remaining summer coverage. We often tend to see prospects' best showings at Summer ID events, as players are fresh off playing for their respective high schools and are in the routine that consistently playing in-game offers. Standout performances can lend invites to some of the summer's top events, including the 2026 Pacific Northwest State Games.

Today, we release our Quick Hits, detailing scouting notes on standout players from the event. Prospects are listed alphabetically by last name. Stay tuned in the coming days for complete post-event coverage. For all other post-event content, click here.

Oregon Summer ID - Session III (7.14.26)

Quick Hits

'27 C Aarik Abrahamsen (West Linn)
The medium-framed righthander displayed plus arm strength from the catcher position to highlight his showcase at Linfield. Abrahamsen led the event with 78 MPH throws and a 2.08 second pop time. He also ran a 7.18 60 yard dash which was among the best times at the event. Offensively, Abrahamsen worked consistent BP rounds from the right side with a peak exit velocity of 94.9 MPH and a best batted ball distance of 342 feet. Abrahamsen makes up a deep core of talented upperclassmen that should contribute for the defending 6A state champions next spring.

'28 INF Roy Corpus (Newberg)
A wiry-framed, middle INF type, Corpus showed well start to finish in McMinnville. The rising junior led the event with throws up to 82 MPH across the dirt. At the dish, Corpus sets in a balanced stance with a long stride resulting in a wider base at contact. His uphill barrel path and shoulder tilt result in some loft at contact. Corpus drove several balls to the deep part of the yard as a result, with a best exit velocity of 95.2 MPH and max batted ball distance of 355 feet. intriguing follow.

'29 C Jacksen Dunn (Central Catholic)
Dunn carries a physical frame at 6'2, 205 with some present power for his underclass status. He sets with loose hands pre-pitch, shifting his weight out front at contact with a longer one-handed finish. Dunn drove balls north of 350 feet with a best exit velocity of 94.4 MPH in his BP rounds. He also carries developing arm strength at the catcher position with a best pop time of 2.12 seconds.

'29 C/RHP Ryan Hamllik (Union, WA)
The young player out of southern Washington delivered arguably some of the most consistent barrels of the day, averaging north of 90 MPH exit velocities with a peak of 96.7 MPH. The stocky-strong 5'10 frame carries some real pop for his age with a best batted ball distance of 367 feet. The arm strength was present both defensively and on the hill, where he featured 76 MPH throws and a 2.16 second pop time as well as a fastball up to 81.5 MPH. The heater was paired with a CH/SL, with all three pitches thrown with lower spin metrics to this point.

'27 INF Dexter Harland (La Salle Catholic)
The loudest offensive performer of the day, Harland carries some real pop in his bat from a more compact frame. The righty sets with a vertical barrel and quiet stance, with a direct path to contact and a flatter approach angle. Harland stays connected with strength in the wrists and acceleration through contact into a two-handed finish. He peaked with a 97.7 MPH exit velocity to set a new personal best, as well as an average EV of 90.4 MPH. The defense could play anywhere on the dirt at the HS level with throws up to 80 MPH earlier this year. Uncommitted name to circle.

'29 LHP/1B Kellen McDonnell (Franklin)
The young arm really looked the part in his bullpen session and could be a legit weapon moving forward. A 6'0, 170 pounder, McDonnell moves through his wind with steady intent, working out over his front side late with a high 3/4 slot release. The fastball sat 78-81 with heavier life, with a CH/CB/SL shown as well. McDonnell's athleticism was on display with an event-leading 7.04 60 yard dash, and he posted exit velocities into the upper 80's as well. Arm to keep an eye on.

'27 LHP/1B Julius Shelton (La Salle Catholic)
Shelton carries a ton of raw power at 6'2, 250. The offensive numbers were the best at any showcase Shelton has attended, peaking with a 94.2 MPH exit velocity and 361 foot max batted ball distance. The lefty stays short and direct to contact with a firm front side and some present bat speed. On the hill, Shelton featured a three pitch mix with a fastball up to 79 MPH and a CH/SL offspeed pairing.

'27 RHP Boden Wolf (Sandy)
The pitcher only impressed in his bullpen session and is an arm that could impact at the college level. Wolf sets on the slight 1B side of the rubber with a narrow base, keeping his head locked on target working from the wind. He stays more upright with a shorter land and arm speed present. The fastball was up to 83.5 MPH, sitting more 81-82 MPH for the most part. He also threw a firm CH at 77-78 MPH with fading action and a SL at 73-74 MPH.
