1836 Roughriders Scout Day: Quick Hits

On Saturday, June 6th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Legacy Ranch High School in Liberty Hill, TX, to host the 1836 Roughriders Scout Day, an event exclusively for members of the 1836 Roughriders program.

More than 100 players made their way to Legacy Ranch HS and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the prospects who stood out throughout the event.

Gabriel Armenta | 3B/RHP | Copperas Cove | 2027 | 6'1" 216
Physical corner INF profile with strength throughout the frame and solid juice from the left side. Shows strength in the hands and barrel, staying behind the ball well while producing exit velocities up to 98 mph. Defensively, fits as a corner INF type with playable actions and room to continue improving foot speed and quickness. Solid follow with present physicality, left handed power potential, and offensive impact.

Lontray Freeman Jr. | OF | Copperas Cove | 6'1" 160
Athletic OF with speed and quickness that show up in his overall profile, posting a 6.94 sixty. Defensively, shows a solid arm in OF play with a quick release and some carry to the throw. At the plate, the quick hands and bat speed stand out, producing exit velocities up to 92 mph. Upside follow with athleticism, arm strength, and offensive traits that should continue to sharpen with added strength.

Tommy McIntyre | C | McCallum | 2027 | 6'1" 206
High ceiling catcher with a great build, present strength, and athleticism that shows in a 6.94 sixty. Showcased plus arm strength with 90 mph across the diamond and 84 mph from behind the plate, posting 1.94 to 2.00 pop times. At the plate, showed the ability to impact the baseball with loud barrels and exit velocities up to 103 mph. Athletic catching follow with arm strength, offensive impact, and the physical tools to be a high level player.

Vanuel Meyer | C | Hutto | 2027 | 5'9" 206
Physical catcher with size and strength present in the build. At the plate, shows strength in the barrel with pull side pop, producing exit velocities up to 96 mph. Behind the plate, posted 2.11 to 2.26 pop times with a developing catch and throw profile. Solid follow with present physicality, offensive strength, and room to continue development behind the plate.

Cade Park | SS | Burnet | 2027 | 5'10" 145
Plus runner with athletic traits and a 6.76 sixty that plays well on the dirt. Shows decent actions at SS with range, a quick release, and arm strength up to 86 mph across the diamond. At the plate, stays inside the ball with quick hands and a line drive approach. Athletic middle INF follow with speed, defensive range, and bat to ball traits.

Remy Pieratt | 3B/2B | Stony Point | 2027 | 5'11" 180
Corner/middle INF type with a solid frame and the defensive profile to handle both 3B and 2B. Shows solid arm strength with the ability to shorten the arm path and make throws more efficiently. At the plate, shows good bat to ball skill with gap to gap style pop, producing exit velocities up to 96 mph. Had a multi hit day in game play, including a line drive base hit, showing the bat can translate against live arms.

Cameron Rivera | 1B | East View | 2027 | 6'1" 190
Quality left handed bat with a quick barrel and some present juice at the plate. Shows bat speed, barrel release, and the ability to impact the baseball, producing exit velocities up to 96 mph. Around the bag at 1B, the feet work well with a quick release and accurate throws. Solid corner profile with left handed offensive upside and dependable actions at first base.

Jirah Anzaldua | OF/1B | Copperas Cove | 2028 | 5'11" 175
Good mover with athletic traits and speed that should continue to improve as he matures. Defensively, the arm works in both OF and 1B play, and he shows the ability to play through the ball well. At the plate, shows a gap to gap style approach with a flat path and some quickness in the hands. Solid follow with defensive versatility, bat to ball traits, and room to keep adding strength.

Carter Klutts | C/OF | Hyde Park | 2028 | 5'10" 165
Athletic C/OF with a solid mover profile, running a 7.04 sixty with a chance for plus speed in the future. The arm works from the OF with some carry to the ball, posting 83 mph velocity. Behind the plate, shows nice actions with 2.16 to 2.33 pop times and room to continue tightening the catch and throw. At the plate, shows present bat speed and loud impact off the barrel, producing exit velocities up to 102 mph.

Eli Raymer | OF/3B | Academy | 2028 | 5'10" 165
Versatile defender with good instincts and the ability to handle multiple spots. Arm plays from both the OF and 3B with good spin to the ball and a quick release. At the plate, shows a compact right handed swing with some bat to ball skill and the ability to put together quality ABs. Played well at multiple positions during game play, adding value with defensive versatility and gamer traits.

Mason White | SS/OF | McCallum | 2028 | 6'0" 170
Physical player with a great frame and build that still has room to add strength. Defensively, shows clean actions with feet that work and the versatility to handle both SS and OF. Arm strength is solid with 78 mph across the diamond and 82 mph from the OF. At the plate, shows feel for the barrel with a gap to gap style approach, exit velocities up to 96 mph, and projection as the body continues to mature.

Amari Maxwell | SS | Weiss | 2028 | 5'6" 174
Solid mover with quick feet and rhythm to the catch at SS. Shows the ability to throw from different angles with body control and feel on the dirt. At the plate, the balanced swing and quick hands stand out, with the ability to turn the barrel. Solid middle INF follow with defensive actions, bat speed, and offensive upside.

Brody Childers | SS/RHP | Anderson Austin | 2029 | 5'9" 150
Athletic two way player with strength to the barrel and sneaky juice at the plate. Put together a couple base hits in game play, including a triple, showing the bat can translate against live arms. On the mound, works with a quick arm and repeatable delivery, showing strike command with the fastball sitting 77 to 78 mph. Young follow with more in the tank as the frame continues to add strength and the overall profile matures.

Grayson Atwater | RHP | Anderson Austin | 2029 | 6'1" 155
Projectable RHP with a 6'1", 155 pound frame and room to continue adding strength. Shows a clean arm path with some hand speed, running the fastball 78 to 80 mph with arm side run and around 18 HM. The breaking ball shows good spin and should continue to sharpen with maturity. Young follow with pitchability traits, movement to the fastball, and more velocity to come as the body develops.

Andres Gonzalez | RHP | East View | 2029 | 5'10" 170
Projectable RHP with a build and frame that should continue to mature well. The fastball worked 76 to 78 mph with late life and sink/tail, showing around 19 HM. The curveball sat 68 mph with feel and gives him a developing secondary pitch to build on. Young arm with movement, strike throwing traits, and room for more velocity as the body continues to develop.

Max Lain | RHP | Liberty Hill | 2029 | 6'3" 175
Long, projectable RHP with a 6'3", 175 pound frame and plenty of room to add strength. Works with a quick arm, running the fastball 79 to 81 mph with more in the tank. The slider is firm at 74 to 75 mph and shows solid movement. Young arm with developing command and feel, but the frame, arm speed, and pitch traits give him clear upside.

Braeden Perez | C/1B | Stony Point | 2029 | 6'0" 218
Strong C/1B profile with a solid frame and strength to the barrel. Shows some pop at the plate with exit velocities up to 93 mph, and collected two hits in game play, including a double. Around the bag at 1B, shows nice feet, a quick release, and accurate throws. Behind the plate, bested a 2.18 pop time, giving him defensive versatility with offensive strength.

Andrew Rodriguez | RHP/C | Legacy Ranch | 2029 | 5'8" 170
Versatile RHP/C with decent arm strength and a solid foundation behind the plate. Posted 2.12 to 2.21 pop times with a quick release, solid receiving skills, and feet that work. Also showed good actions on the dirt with rhythm and timing in his defensive work. At the plate, shows a line drive style approach with the ability to stay inside the baseball.

Fletcher Cokendolpher | OF | Burnet Middle | 2028 | 5'7" 140
Young OF with solid arm strength and good carry to the throw. The feet work defensively, and he shows the ability to play through the baseball with rhythm. At the plate, shows some bat to ball skill and works inside the baseball well. Put together quality rounds of BP, showing a solid foundation to build on as he continues to mature.

Hudson Crawford | SS/OF/RHP | Burnet | 2029 | 6'2" 165
Athletic frame and build with upside as he continues to add strength. Versatile defender who moves well, with the arm working across multiple spots and the ability to handle SS and OF. At the plate, drove a single and triple in game play, showing the ability to impact the game against live arms. On the mound, the fastball worked up to 79 mph, while the curveball showed good shape with developing command and room to continue improving.

Elias Larsen | RHP | Hutto | 2029 | 6'1" 172
Good frame and build with some present physical strength for the age group and room to continue adding more. The fastball sat 77 to 80 mph with life, working from a repeatable delivery with strike command. Curveball sat 65 to 67 mph with late break and feel to land it. Young arm with upside, pitchability traits, and more velocity likely to come as the frame matures.

Parker Lumpkins | RHP/OF | 2029 | 6'5" 180
Long, athletic RHP/OF with a great 6'5", 180 pound frame and a ton of upside. In the OF, the feet worked well, showing some instincts with a strong arm and good carry to the ball. At the plate, creates bat speed with solid pull side pop and exit velocities up to 94 mph, though there can be some length at times. On the mound, shows a live arm and quick hand, running the fastball 80 to 83 mph with around 20 IVB and some tail, while the curveball sat 66 to 67 mph.
