Rising Stars on the Radar: 2029 RHP/1B Samson Rosenberg (North Allegheny)
May 29, 2026
Rosenberg is a 6-foot-3, 227-pound two-way prospect that can produce elite metrics offensively and on the mound. The Western Pennsylvania product put together an impressive preseason workout that landed him at second overall on the updated 2029 Pennsylvania rankings.
Offensively, he showcased lightning quick bat and hand speed alongside an efficient bat path with a slightly positive attack angle. The physical freshman produced a 104.5 max exit velocity, 96.4 average exit velocity, 390ft max distance, and a 70 percent sweet-spot percentage. He clears his hips that allows his hands to fly through the zone where he makes solid contact out front which results in pull-side barrels with back spin.
On the mound, Rosenberg showcased his arm talent with a fastball topping at 87 mph and sat 85-86 mph. His arm action is advanced for a freshman where he throws from a shorter arm action with an efficient arm path that creates some deception on the pitch for the hitter. He also flashed feel for a curveball and changeup that can develop into intriguing off-speed options.
Overall, Rosenberg is a physically mature 6-foot-3, 227-pound freshman that produced high-level metrics with advanced movement patterns offensively and defensively. Player to watch in the Northeast as he continues to develop.
