Rising Stars on the Radar: 2029 MIF Will Holly Jr (The Hun School)
May 15, 2026
Holly is the 4th ranked player in New Jersey’s freshman class and has been playing like a veteran this high school season. The 5-foot-10, 164-pound shortstop is hitting .346 with 18 hits, 5 extra base hits, 17 runs batted in, and 9 stolen bases. He earned the right to be a starter the first week of the season and has not let up the reins.
Offensively, Holly has demonstrated an innate ability to flat out hit, a well-rounded approach at the plate that allows him to drive the baseball line-to-line. Utilizing a simple, widened set-up at the plate he is able to have virtually zero swing-and-miss while having adjustability in his swing in 2 strike counts. Prototypical leadoff hitter that will be dangerous for many years to follow.
Defensively, the young middle infielder has been holding down the second baseman role with confidence and has the ability and tools to be the everyday shortstop for the Hun School in the future. Holly’s fleet of foot, soft hands and strong arm (84mph) are all the makings of a top Northeast shortstop.
Overall, Holly is a hard-nosed middle infielder that competes with the best of them and does not back down to a challenge. High-level bat-to-ball ability, athleticism, defense, and baseball IQ make Holly a must see prospect in the Northeast.
