On Tuesday, June 30 the Prep Baseball Arkansas Staff hosted our Central Arkansas Summer ID at the University of Central Arkansas' Bear Stadium in Conway. This event consisted of 24 players from around the state. All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like our summer Top Prospect Games and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that take place at the tail end of the summer. Quick Hits

Peyton Pierce RHP / SS / Guy-Perkins High School, AR / 2027 At 6'5" and 213 lbs, this two-way prospect showcased a short, quick uphill swing that creates lift from a tall frame. His top exit velocity hit 96 mph, showing he’s capable of winning at the plate with quickness and bat speed. Defensively, he flashed a strong arm, recording 84 mph across the infield. On the mound, he topped out at 86 mph, demonstrating real juice with a live arm and the ability to impact both sides of the game.

Braxton Harbin 1B / LHP / Morrilton, AR / 2027 Left-handed pitcher that showcased a live arm, topping out with a fastball up to 86 mph. He paired it with a sweeping slider that added depth and bite, helping him miss bats and create swings. His changeup played well off the fastball, showing feel to slow hitters down and disrupt timing. Overall, the combination of pace, shape, and pitch separation made his arsenal look advanced for his age.

Paxton Lynch C / 3B / North Little Rock, AR / 2030 This all-around athlete showed the ability to impact the game from multiple positions, proving he can play anywhere on the field. At the plate, he drove the ball with a top exit velocity of 93 mph, demonstrating real bat speed and strength. In the field, his arm strength stood out with pop time ranging from 1.94 to 2.03, and throws up to 78 mph out of the crouch. He also registered up to 80 mph across the infield and 82 mph from the outfield, combining athleticism with playable defensive tools.

Craig Hicks OF / RHP / Berryville, AR / 2027 This twitchy athlete flashed a high ceiling with the projectability you look for as he grows into his frame. He ran a 6.98 60-yard dash, showing burst and real straight-line athleticism. From the outfield, his arm strength played at up to 84 mph, and he also posted a top exit velocity of 94 mph, indicating he can impact the ball as he matures.

Jake Gaston LHP / 1B / Mount Ida High School, AR / 2029 This physical player has the ability to drive the ball from the left side of the plate, showing strength and leverage through the zone. He impacts the baseball with authority, and there’s clear room for added strength as he continues to mature. With continued tuning to his timing and bat path, he has the potential to take another step in consistent power. Overall, his physical build and left-handed juice give him a high-upside profile.

Cy Brewer 1B / LHP / Fayetteville High School, AR / 2028 This tall, long-levered athlete showed plenty of potential, especially as he continues to fill out and grow into his frame. At the plate, he flashed pull-side power, indicating he can do damage when he gets the barrel to the ball. As a left-handed pitcher, he features a deceptive delivery from a low–three-quarters slot, making it harder for hitters to pick up the ball and track it. Overall, the combination of athletic frame, hitting tools, and pitching deception points to a high-upside two-way profile.

Maddox Ford C / SS / Conway High School, AR / 2029 Stood out for his clean mechanics off the mound, repeating his delivery and keeping his body in sync. He also showed the ability to run the fastball up to 85, giving him real arm strength and movement. His performance featured a solid four-pitch mix, with clear command and differentiation between offerings. With a strong foundation already in place, there’s room for growth as he continues to improve year to year.

Nixx Taylor RHP / 3B / Pulaski Academy, AR / 2029 This lean, long-levered pitcher showed the ability to run his fastball up to 83 mph on the mound. He also flashed strong spin, topping out at 2,495 RPM, which supports the life and movement he’s creating. With his delivery coming from an athletic build, there’s clear room for added growth as he gains strength and size in the future. Overall, he profiles as a continuing riser with more velocity and impact potential ahead.
