On August 4th and 5th, our staff hosted the annual VA/DC State Games. While this year saw a different venue and a different time of the summer for the event, a lot remained the same. The summer state games had more than 160 players in attendance and had plenty of talent to go around from all three eligible classes (2027-2029). Each positional player got a workout and two games, playing in front of a total of 23 different college coaches between both days. Without further ado, we are going to highlight the MVPitcher from the 2026 VA/DC State Games.

2026 VA/DC State Games MVPitcher

Your 2026 VA/DC State Games MVPitcher is Blake Pearson. Pearson had a dominant performance during his two extended innings of work, facing thirteen hitters and striking out eight of those thirteen hitters. He walked one and allowed two scattered hits during his outing. In his first inning on the mound, Pearson faced six hitters, striking out five of them and got a groundout to shortstop. While the pure stuff is not big and loud, he has the ability to compete in the zone with the low 80's fastball and moves the slider and changeup around. Multiple times Pearson went under a right hander's hands with the slider and was able to get some uncomfortable swings throughout his time on the mound. Pearson, from start to finish, had the most complete and most dominant outing of the 2026 State Games, earning him the MVPitcher award.
