The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Iowa. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the Hawkeye State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Cedar Rapids or Carroll at the IHSAA state tournaments, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Iowa.

NOTES

+ Valley’s Ryan Stedman threw 7 innings allowed 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and struck out 15. He was also 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.

+ Southeast Polk’s Alex Williams went 2 for 3 with a single, double and 2 RBI’s.

+ Waukee Northwest’s Dylan Choos had a pinch hit walk off RBI single in the 10th inning. 

+ Iowa City Liberty’s Pryor Reiners was 2 for 3 with a single, double and 3 RBI’s.

+ Clear Creek-Amana’s Texton Bollers was 2 for 4 with a single, double, stolen base, 4 RBI’s and 1 run.

+ Boone’s Noah Gorman threw 5.2 innings gave up 3 hits, 3 walks, 1 run, a hit by pitch and had 6 strikeouts. He was also 2 for 3 with a single, double and walk.

+ Clear Creek-Amana’s Blayne Roberts threw 6 innings allowed 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks and struck out 13. 

+ Cedar Rapids Xavier’s Zander Murray threw a complete game no hitter in 7 innings giving up 0 runs, on 3 walks and had 11 strikeouts. 

+ Solon’s Dylan Gorham was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and 3 runs.
