The Road to the 2026 Future Games ⭐
The Yellowhammer State Games has established itself as one of the most important events of the summer evaluation period and serves as a key pathway to the 2026 Future Games, the country's top uncommitted event with more than 400 college recruiters in attendance.
Players can earn Future Games consideration through any Prep Baseball Alabama summer event, but attendance at one of our summer events is required for selection. Historically, the Yellowhammer State Games has produced the largest group of Future Games representatives each year, making it one of the most important events of the summer evaluation period.
The impact has been evident in recent years. Of Alabama's 58 Future Games selections in 2024, 25 attended the Yellowhammer State Games. In 2025, 22 of the state's 59 Future Games selections participated in the event. As the evaluation process continues throughout the summer, this week's event will once again play a significant role in helping identify Alabama's next Future Games roster.

The roster is loaded with talent across all four graduating classes. Below, we highlight a few of the many top prospects from each class expected to take the field in Northport this week.
+ Class of 2027
Austin Kightlinger OF / Northside, AL / 2027Kightlinger emerged as one of the state's biggest risers last summer after a strong showing at the Yellowhammer State Games helped earn him a Future Games invitation. Since then, the Indiana commit has continued to trend upward, showcasing one of the top hit tools in Alabama's 2027 class with an all-around skill set that continues to elevate and raise his long-term ceiling. Kightlinger will once again be one of the top position players to follow in Northport. |
Brady Sack RHP / OF / Auburn, AL / 2027Few arms in attendance can match Sack's blend of athleticism, stuff, and projection. The South Alabama commit has already reached 92 mph with the fastball and pairs it with a firm slider that continues to miss bats, all while carrying a frame that suggests more velocity could be on the horizon. Sack enters the event as one of the premier arms in the 2027 class. |
Bryant Hopkins RHP / Valley, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 5
Armed with one of the most devastating breaking balls in Alabama, Hopkins enters the event as one of the top uncommitted pitching prospects in the state's 2027 class. The former Future Games attendee has been up to the upper-80s with the fastball, but it's the breaking ball that separates him from his peers, spinning north of 3000 RPM and generating consistent swing-and-miss. Hopkins should once again draw plenty of attention from college coaches in attendance at River Run Park. |
Gibbs White RHP / Tuscaloosa County, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 17 / POS: 6
White remains one of the top uncommitted arms in Alabama's 2027 class and brings an intriguing blend of present stuff and projection to Northport. Standing 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, the right-hander has worked into the upper-80s with the fastball and possesses a frame that suggests there's still more in the tank as he continues to develop physically. White will be one of the more closely followed uncommitted pitchers in attendance this week. |
Braden Weathers 1B / Hartselle, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 1
Few uncommitted hitters in attendance have generated more buzz over the last year than Weathers. The Hartselle standout is coming off a spring in which he launched double-digit home runs while helping lead the Tigers to another Class 6A state championship, and he has carried that momentum into the summer circuit. Weathers enters Northport as one of the premier uncommitted bats in Alabama's 2027 class and a must-follow throughout the event. |
+ Class of 2028
Hunter Elmore 1B / American Christian, AL / 2028There's no denying the impact Elmore has already made at such a young age. The top-ranked player in Alabama's 2028 class and a top-40 prospect nationally, Elmore earned Prep Baseball Alabama Player of the Year honors after hitting over .500 with 12 home runs this spring. Widely regarded as one of the premier underclass prospects to come through the state in recent years, he'll be one of the marquee attractions in Northport. |
Drew Jackson III LHP / OF / American Christian, AL / 2028Few sophomores in the state enjoyed the success Jackson did this spring against high-level competition. The talented left-hander routinely worked into the upper-80s with a high-spin fastball that plays exceptionally well at the top of the zone, piling up double-digit strikeout performances throughout the season. Add in his ability to impact the game offensively from the left side, and Jackson enters Northport as one of the premier two-way prospects in Alabama's 2028 class. |
Brock Green OF / LHP / Northside, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 4
Among the most physically imposing prospects in attendance, Green brings a rare blend of size, strength, and upside to Northport. Listed at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, the left-handed hitter possesses serious thump in the barrel with significant power projection still remaining, making him one of the more intriguing bats in Alabama's 2028 class. He also impacts the game on the mound, where he has worked into the mid-80s and continues to develop as a two-way prospect. |
Hunter Dailey RHP / Shelby County, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 5
Dailey is one of the more intriguing uncommitted arms in Alabama's 2028 class and possesses the type of upside college coaches are eager to evaluate this summer. The athletic right-hander has already worked into the upper-80s with the fastball and appears poised for further velocity gains as he continues to mature physically. As the command and secondary offerings continue to develop, Dailey's ceiling only continues to rise. |
Weston Todd RHP / Madison Academy, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 6
After missing time early in the spring, Todd came on strong during the second half of the season and enters the summer as one of the top pitching prospects in Alabama's 2028 class. The right-hander has worked into the upper-80s with a quick arm and pairs it with a hard slider that has proven to be an effective weapon against hitters. With his best baseball potentially still ahead of him, Todd looks poised for a breakout summer in Northport and beyond. |
+ Class of 2029
Ross Christy OF / Fultondale, AL / 2029Few players in Alabama's 2029 class can match Christy's combination of athleticism, twitch, and overall tools. The strong-framed prospect boasts some of the best measurable tools in the class, including 6.6-second speed, and broke onto the scene with a standout performance at last year's Yellowhammer State Games that earned him a Junior Future Games invitation. Now a year older and more developed, Christy will be one of the most exciting underclass prospects to follow in Northport. |
AJ Kramer LHP / OF / Prattville, AL / 2029Widely regarded as one of the top left-handed pitching prospects in the country, Kramer brings an advanced blend of stuff, athleticism, and pitchability to the mound. Working from an athletic delivery and a low-to-mid 3/4 arm slot, the southpaw has already reached the upper-80s with the fastball while complementing it with a quality slider and changeup. With a polished three-pitch mix and the ability to command the baseball, Kramer enters Northport as one of the premier arms in attendance regardless of class. |
Christian Thompson C / Alma Bryant, AL / 2029Thompson has established himself as one of the more consistent offensive performers in Alabama's 2029 class, producing at a high level across multiple events and showcases. The talented backstop combines strength and athleticism with an advanced offensive skill set, showing intriguing hit and power potential that continues to trend upward. After a strong showing at last summer's Junior Future Games, Thompson enters Northport as one of the top bats to follow in the class. |
John Gregory SS / RHP / Mountain Brook, AL / 2029Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
Gregory has steadily established himself as one of the top prospects in Alabama's 2029 class and enters the event as a top-10 ranked player and Junior Future Games alumnus. The wiry, athletic shortstop possesses advanced actions and instincts on both sides of the ball, pairing impact potential in the barrel with the athleticism and defensive skill set to remain on the left side of the infield long term. With plenty of room still remaining on the frame, Gregory's upside continues to point upward heading into Northport. |

+ Class of 2030
