The Texas 2028 player rankings have been updated after the Summer. We have expanded to 275 players in this update, providing an even deeper look at the talent across the state. With new faces climbing and familiar ones holding strong, this update highlights the depth, projection, and competitiveness that continue to define Texas high school baseball. Cullen Scott | INF/RHP | Melissa | 2027 | R/R | 6’3” 215
At the top of the Texas rankings, Scott has reclassified to the 2027 class, which will be reflected in the next rankings update. Young, physical player who will continue to add strength. A legitimate two-way prospect who would be near the top of this list as either an infielder or pitcher alone.

As an infielder, Scott projects as an offensive corner player. He impacts the baseball and showed feel to hit throughout the spring to go along with the power. The hit approach continued to develop against national-level competition during the summer, which is not a major concern for a player who is young for the 2027 class. Could play shortstop for his high school team this spring but projects to move to third base at the college or professional level. The bat/power combination stands out.

On the mound, Scott brings power stuff, with the fastball reaching 100 mph over the summer. Has shown both a slider and curveball around 2400 RPM, with the shapes blending at times but flashing average action. The changeup will continue to develop. Hitter over pitcher at this time.

Landon Bonner | SS/2B | Hebron | 2028 | L/R | 5’8” 160
Athletic middle infielder with plus speed and quickness, running a 6.60 60. The run tool plays both defensively and on the bases. Stays in the middle of the diamond with the athleticism and actions to make plays on the move. Shows feel to hit with confidence in the box, and velocity from opposing pitchers has not been an issue. Uses a middle-of-the-field, line-drive approach while showing the ability to leave the yard to the pull side. Hit over power long term. Plays with energy and has a high-confidence future hit tool.

Daxton Price | LHP/OF | The Bennett School | 2028 | L/L | 6’0” 175
High-upside two-way prospect with athleticism and a loud tool set. Posted a 6.80 60 and moves well in the outfield, showing quality instincts and feel for the position. From the left side of the plate, shows present juice with a gap-to-gap approach and occasional home run power.

On the mound, was impressive with a fastball that sat 88–92 mph, showing arm-side run and command. Both breaking balls are legitimate weapons. Curveball worked 70–72 mph with 2500+ RPM, while the slider sat 74–76 mph and reached 3000+ RPM at the Future Games. Both pitches show sweep and depth with the ability to generate consistent swing-and-miss. Impact 2028 arm with athleticism, advanced breaking stuff, and significant two-way upside.

Kyle Behan | OF | Lamar | 2028 | L/R | 6’0” 189
Athletic center fielder with a strong 6’0”, 189-pound frame and a well-rounded tool set. Posted a 6.66 60 with the range and athleticism to profile as a true center fielder while showing plenty of arm strength with an 89 mph OF velo. At the plate, combines present power with quality barrel accuracy, staying inside the baseball with the ability to drive it line to line. Has produced exit velocities up to 103.5 mph and consistently swung the bat well throughout the spring and summer, including a strong showing at the Future Games. High-upside outfielder with a combination of speed, defensive value, and offensive impact.

Travis Fiedler | SS | Ridge Point | 2028 | L/R | 5’11” 172
Polished shortstop with some of the best overall infield actions in the state. Shows quick feet with quality angles to the baseball, along with advanced feel and instincts for the position. Plays with a quick release and plenty of arm strength, reaching 89 mph across the diamond.

At the plate, handles the bat well with a short, compact stroke and the adjustability to shoot the ball the other way or turn on a tough pitch inside. Profiles as a potential top- or bottom-of-the-order hitter at the next level with the ability to contribute in multiple ways. Posted a 6.67 60 with exit velocities up to 101.2 mph, rounding out an impressive combination of athleticism, defensive ability, and offensive skill.

Jude Huff | LHP | Magnolia West | 2028 | L/L | 6’2” 180
Projectable left-handed pitcher with a tall, lean frame and plenty of room to continue adding strength. Fastball sits 87–91 mph and has topped at 92, showing arm-side run and the ability to pitch effectively inside. Creates some crossfire in the delivery, adding deception to the overall look. Slider works 75–78 mph with sweeping action and depth, showing the ability to get the pitch down and to the glove side. Changeup tunnels well off the fastball with similar arm and hand speed, producing quality sink and fade. High-upside left-hander with present stuff, deception, and a quality three-pitch mix.

Tony Ciurca | SS/RHP | Clear Falls | 2028 | R/R | 5’11” 165
Athletic two-way prospect with a well-rounded tool set and the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Defensively, is a rangy infielder with the versatility and actions to handle shortstop, showing present glove actions, a quick exchange, and plenty of arm strength with throws up to 92 mph across the diamond.

At the plate, the right-handed hitter features quick hands with a flat path and the ability to stay through both gaps, producing exit velocities up to 104.1 mph. Had multiple hits at the Future Games, highlighted by a home run at 103.5 mph EV. On the mound, attacks hitters with an aggressive mentality and shows strike-throwing ability with his full arsenal. Fastball sits 90–92 mph, pairing it with a 72–75 mph curveball with solid shape and a 79 mph changeup. High-upside prospect with legitimate two-way ability, arm strength, and offensive impact.

Yates Ashley | LHP | Katy | 2028 | L/L | 6’4” 200
Projectable left-handed pitcher with an impressive 6’4”, 200-pound frame and a clean arm. Shows advanced pitchability with a four-pitch mix and the ability to make adjustments while maintaining composure on the mound. Fastball sits 87–91 mph with arm-side run and the command to work effectively to both sides of the plate. Mixes two distinct breaking balls, with the slider showing late, tight break while the curveball provides a different look with more depth. Changeup sits 77–78 mph with deception and movement, giving him another quality weapon. High-upside LHP with present pitchability, a deep arsenal, and plenty of physical projection remaining.

Braylon Hubbard | INF/CF | Duncanville | 2028 | R/R | 5’11” 182
Athletic player with explosiveness and a great frame to continue adding strength. Plus runner with a 6.70 60 and defensive versatility. Showed the ability to handle center field at Area Codes despite limited experience there, displaying the athleticism and range to be capable at the position. At shortstop, the actions are still developing and should continue to firm. The positive is that he projects to stay somewhere in the middle of the field. Bat and hand speed are present with the ability to impact the baseball and leave the yard to the pull side. Toolsy player who is not a finished product, giving him some risk but also a high ceiling.

Luke Esquivel | LHP | Southlake Carroll | 2028 | LSU Commit | L/L | 6’3” 190
Great build/frame with room to add strength. Starter profile with strike-throwing ability and feel to pitch. Fastball touched 93 this summer after working mostly 89–91 in spring looks, flashing better velocity at times. Works both sides of the plate with life on the fastball. Lands his secondary offerings and generates swing-and-miss in the zone. Fastball velocity projects to continue firming, and when combined with the secondary stuff and present pitchability, Esquivel has a chance to become one of the better true “pitchers” in the class. Fun left-hander to watch because of his ability to pitch.
