Nolan Leitner, currently ranked No. 27 overall and the No. 3 LHP in Arizona's 2027 class, continues to establish himself as one of the better left-handed arms in the state. The Casteel lefty brings athleticism to the mound, pitches with a calm presence and has consistently shown the ability to stay composed when innings tighten up.
Leitner's delivery creates a difficult look for hitters, and the arsenal continued to take a step forward throughout 2026. That was especially clear at the Senior Future Games, where the fastball climbed into the upper-80s and the breaking ball showed the shape and spin to give him a legitimate second weapon.
Leitner's Senior Future Games appearance was one of his stronger looks of the year. The fastball reached 88.6 mph while sitting 86.3-87.9, showing heavy arm-side action at times with horizontal movement reaching nearly 20 inches.
The curveball was the separator in the mix, reaching 79.1 mph with spin up to 2,765 rpm. Once he settled in, Leitner showed confidence landing it in the zone and using it as a true secondary offering, while the changeup worked in the mid-70s and gave him another option against right-handed hitters.
The summer look also showed a step forward from Leitner's February Preseason All-State appearance. His fastball moved from a 87.0 mph high early in the year to 88.6 at the Senior Future Games, while the curveball showed a noticeable jump in velocity and maintained the high-spin characteristics that have made it an important part of the arsenal.
There is still upside in the profile. Leitner is an athletic mover with a tough left-handed slot, and his ability to stay composed while continuing to make pitches gives the arsenal a chance to keep playing up as the stuff develops.

With an upper-80s fastball, a quality breaking ball and a difficult look from the left side, Arizona's No. 3 ranked LHP remains one of the state's uncommitted arms to follow closely heading into his senior year.
