East Dallas Summer ID: Outfielder Analysis

On Wednesday, July 8th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Rockwall High School in Rockwall, TX, to host the East Dallas Summer ID, an open event for all high school classes.
More than 25 players made their way to Rockwall HS and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting more of the traditional statistical categories, as well as a Quick Hits, highlighting some of the events top performers, while also posting Data Dives for both Pitchers and Position Players.
Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every outfielder in attendance from the event.
ALL OUTFIELD PROSPECTS (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)
Cole Bludau, Smithson Valley (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/RHP RHH/CF Well above avg runner, quickness to start. CF with range. Developing bat/power combo, with hit over power. RHP looking for arm speed to increase. Must firm release of slider for success. Change will be fine.
Body: 5-11, 171 pounds. Width to shoulders/back. Good middle/lower. Projects well to add strength.
Hit: RHH. Length to stride. Rotational back foot gets fully turned. Fair use of lower 1/2. Recommend developing some linear movement to back foot, driving hips forward due to length of stride, this engage lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg, stride foot stays into ground. Upright posture with big right shoulder tilt. Hands away from body to start swing, barrel at solid angle to launch. Takes solid path to baseball, gets on plane.
Power: 91 mph max exit velocity (81.1 avg.); 312-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 83 mph. Arm works with length. Carry to throws will develop. Recommend long toss program to increase arm speed.
Defense: CF. Moves fine to baseball, breaks down to field. Can be more aggressive to baseball using WAA run speed. Work to field baseball out front off left foot with just glove hand.
Athletic Testing: 6.48 runner in the 60-yard dash; 24.00-inch max vertical jump. Well above avg speed, quickness to start, can get SB's.

Carter Conway, Hebron (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/1B LHH/CF Athletic, plus runner. Great build frame for adding strength. Can play CF. Developing at plate.
Body: 5-11, 159 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects well for adding increased strength.
Hit: LHH. Rotational back foot with linear movement, solid use of lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg, stride foot into ground with good posture. With stride, hands drop creating vertical launch position. Barrel drags thru zone. Soften hand movement, looking get barrel launched from area behind plate allowing for direct path of barrel to baseball. This will allow barrel to work into zone and get on plane for line drive contact.
Power: 88 mph max exit velocity (71.3 avg.); 316-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 81 mph.
Defense: CF, can be more aggressive to baseball. Sets up to field baseball, solid fielding ball out front. Speed to have at least abv avg range in OF, can develop into well abv avg.
Athletic Testing: 6.68 runner in the 60-yard dash; 21.70-inch max vertical jump. Plus runner. Solid start, run form and stride length. Speed will increase.

Brady Flowers, Rock Hill (TX), 2029
Positional Profile: C/OF RHH/OF/C Projects well physically for adding strength. Developing defensively. Solid bat/power combo, shows hard contact now along with raw power.
Body: 5-11, 186 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects well for adding increased strength.
Hit: RHH. Lands with closed stride, rotational back foot showing slight linear movement forward. Back foot gets stuck, get fully turned and driving forward to fully engage lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front side/leg. Stride foot stays into ground, solid posture at contact. Hands/barrel in launch position, takes solid path to baseball, gets on plane for line drive contact.
Power: 92 mph max exit velocity (79.4 avg.); 356-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 75 mph. OF - 77 mph. OF...arm works, raw arm strength will develop. Catcher...carry present, raw arm will develop.
Defense: 2.03-2.15 pop time range; OF...Solid mover to baseball, breaks down well to field. Fields baseball out front off left foot. Get fingers pointed to ground when fielding baseball, wrist cupped at times now with palm facing up. Catcher...Hands work receiving. Solid glove to hand exchange, stands to throw, gain ground with feet to throw, stay low.
Athletic Testing: 7.64 runner in the 60-yard dash; 23.00-inch max vertical jump. Hard runner with solid run form and stride length. Speed will increase some.

Scott Hollinger, Rowlett (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/C RHH/OF will add strength. Steady defensive outfielder. Project solid bat/power combo with adjustments.
Body: 5-8, 200 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Solid middle/lower. Projects well for strength additions.
Hit: RHH. Lands slightly open with stride. Rotational back foot, gets turned, lower 1/2 engaged in swing. Stride foot opens with swing, falling back into heel hindering effectiveness of lower 1/2. Stay into stride foot thru contact, hit from ground up. Hands/barrel in launch position, takes solid path baseball. Swing works.

Arm: RH. OF - 74 mph. Arm works, raw arm strength will develop. Recommend long toss program to increase raw arm speed.

Nikolas Lagusis, Frisco Centennial (TX), 2029
Positional Profile: OF/2B
Body: 5-11, 171 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects well for adding strength.
Hit: LHH. Rotational back foot, gets stuck in rotation, slides away from plate to 1st base limiting use of lower 1/2 in swing. Get back foot fully turned, drive foot forward creating linear movement fully engaging lower in swing. Hits into firm front leg, stride foot rolls onto side of foot. Work to keep foot into ground. Hit from ground up. Hands/barrel in launch position. Hands work to zone, barrel works down and around creating length to swing. Take barrel on direct path to baseball. Mac LePori, Grapevine (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/3B RHH/OF will add strength. Solid defender in OF, with speed development, can possibly play CF in college, no question on corners. Project solid bat/power combo with adjustments.
Body: 5-11, 187 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects well for adding strength.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot with slight linear movement forward. Nice job of using lower 1/2, can firm making sure that back foot gets fully turned, on time and driving forward. Stride foot rolls onto side of foot, into heel at times along with opening of toe. Work to keep foot into ground thru swing contact. Unstable foot limits lower use and can hinder balance. Hands/barrel in launch position. Small, late hand/wrist cock gets bat started. Hands work to baseball with barrel following. Barrel dump present, get top hand equal with bottom hand at contact allowing barrel to get on plane for line drive contact.

Arm: RH. OF - 84 mph. Arm works, projects to have avg raw arm strength at minimum.

Bradley Lewis, Mansfield Legacy (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/RHP RHH/CF Projects for adding strength. Plus runner, good mover. CF with range. See with solid bat/power combo. Tools to develop. RHP athletic on the mound. Shows arm quickness. Secondary will develop.
Body: 6-0, 183 pounds. Width to back/shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects well for adding strength.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, gets stuck in rotation, get fully turned and on time to engage lower 1/2. Back foot slides away from plate, shows slight linear movement, develop linear movement forward to increase use of lower. Hits into firm front side/stride leg. Stride foot rolls onto side of foot, hips slide away from plate costing power. Keep foot into ground, hit from ground up with body driving forward into firm front side/leg/foot. Hands/barrel in nice start position. Hands work down slightly along with casting out, barrel drag. Take hands on direct path to baseball with barrel following directly to baseball.

Colt Medders, Palestine (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/RHP RHH/CF projects for adding strength. See as plus runner. Solid defender in CF. Bat/power combo will develop with adjustments.
Body: 6-0, 176 pounds. Width to back/shoulders, good middle/lower. Projects well for adding strength.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, drive back foot forward to fully engage lower 1/2. Presently has squash the bug move, drive back foot forward. Stride foot opens with swing falling into heel. Work to keep foot into ground, hit from ground up. This will also help improve use of lower 1/2 in swing. Hands/barrel in position to launch. Scoop swing creating uphill path. Take hands on direct path to baseball, barrel will follow getting on plane for line drive contact. Presently comes over top of baseballs at times, if little late, has fly ball contact.

Arm: RH. OF - 86 mph. Arm works, shows carry to throws. Will have at least avg raw arm strength, if not better.
Defense: Moves well to baseball, breaks down well to field. Solid fielding baseball out front off left foot. Will have speed to play CF.

Revel Qualls, Byron Nelson (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHH/OF...tools to develop. Watch progress.
Body: 6-1, 174 pounds. Athletic look, high waisted. Width to shoulders/back. Good middle/lower. Projects well for adding strength.
Hit: LHH. Rotational back foot, uses lower 1/2 in swing. Can fully engage lower 1/2 with driving back foot forward, developing linear movement. Hits into firm front leg, stride foot into ground. Solid upright posture. With stride back elbow raises causing barrel tip over head creating length to swing. Soften movement of elbow allowing for barrel to launch from area behind head creating direct path for barrel to work to zone. Uphill path present resulting from barrel tip. Launching from behind head area will allow barrel to get on plane for line drive contact.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (81.4 avg.); 334-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 87 mph. Arm works, will have at least avg HS raw arm strength, chance to be plus.

Positional Profile: OF/SS
Body: 5-10, 154 pounds. Avg width to shoulders/back, good middle/lower. Projects well to add strength.
Arm: RH. OF - 74 mph. Cutoff circle hinders arm strength. Recommend long toss program to increase arm speed and work on developing full circle.
Defense: CF. Moves fine to baseball, can be more aggressive to baseball. Breaks down well to field. Will be abv avg centerfielder as HS player.
Athletic Testing: 6.39 runner in the 60-yard dash; 28.50-inch max vertical jump. Well above avg speed, quickness present, can steal bases.
Jackson Seel, Stratford (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP/OF RHH/CF athletic, plus runner, physically will add strength. Range present, moves to baseball well. Project solid bat/power combo. Watch progress. RHP shows arm speed. FB will develop increased velo. Slider flashes solid action. Change developing. Cutter quality pitch, will get swing and miss.
Body: 5-10, 163 pounds. Width to back/shoulders, good middle/lower. Projects well physically for adding strength.
Hit: RHH. Solid hit setup/approach. Rotational back foot with linear movement. Lower 1/2 works, hits into firm front side/leg. Stride foot rolls onto side of foot, work to keep into ground. Good, upright posture at contact. Barrel/hands in good launch position, hands work slightly down with barrel working around, take hands on direct path to baseball. Slight uphill path, adjustments will help get on plane for line drive contact.

Positional Profile: OF/SS Young RHH/OF Will add strength. Will be plus runner. Tools present to develop. Nice upside with adjustments and strength.
Body: 5-7, 139 pounds. Avg width to shoulders/back, good middle/lower. Projects well to add strength.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, gets fully turned. Learn to explode back foot, hip forward increasing rotation speed of body. Hits into firm front side/leg, stride foot stays into ground, solid posture at contact. With stride, inward turn of lead shoulder, back elbow raises creating wrap of barrel causing some length to swing. Soften movement of back elbow raising up. Cast hands out causing barrel to work around body, uphill path into zone. Take hands on direct path to baseball with barrel following getting on plane for line drive contact.
