We’re down in Georgia at LakePoint Sports for our annual Future Games event, the largest and most prestigious uncommitted event in the country. We kicked off the Future Games yesterday, running the players through a pro-style workout with gameplay set to begin today. 

Today, we are reviewing all of the position players that worked out for Team North Texas, below. 

QUICK HITS

Landon Bonner | 2028 | MIF | Hebron | L/R | 5’9”, 160
Bonner led off the North Texas workout with a quality round of BP. Showed a line-drive approach with high-level barrel control. Quick feet and soft hands stood out during the defensive portion, along with plenty of arm strength to stay at shortstop (88 mph across). Will always hit.

Riggs Huggins | 2028 | 1B | Prestonwood Christian | L/R | 6’2”, 210
Physical left-handed hitter who turned in one of the more impressive rounds of BP across the Texas squads. Produces easy, consistent juice off the barrel while working to the big part of the field and showing the ability to leave the yard with ease. Posted a 104 mph max EV with an impressive 98 mph average EV. Has a real chance to impact the game at the next level.

Cullen Scott | 2028 | INF/RHP | Melissa | R/R | 6’3”, 215
The No. 1 player in the state announced his presence with authority yesterday. An imposing figure in the box, Scott swings a heavy barrel and produces easy juice to all fields. Posted a 103.6 mph max EV with a 96.3 mph average EV. Was also 92 mph across the diamond, showing quality actions and impressive agility for his size. Impacts the game on both sides of the ball and will start Game 1 tonight on the mound against Southern California at 8:30 p.m.

Braylon Hubbard | 2028 | MIF | Duncanville | R/R | 6’0”, 182
Hubbard turned in a solid all-around workout yesterday. Posted a 102.7 mph max EV during BP while producing hard line drives. Was 91 mph across the infield with solid footwork. Also ran a 6.70 60 and showed quickness on the bases.

Matthew Heredia | 2028 | MIF | Southlake Carroll | R/R | 5’9”, 170
Heredia continues to show some pop during BP, posting a 101.7 mph max EV. Shows the ability to impact the baseball on a line to all fields. Was 89 mph across the infield yesterday with solid defensive actions.

Reid Overstreet | 2028 | OF/LHP | Rockwall | L/L | 5’11”, 186
Twitchy two-way player who reached a 100 mph EV during BP and has shown the ability to drive the baseball the other way with authority in game action. Ran a 6.80 60 with range in the outfield and showed a strong arm at 91 mph. The arm works well on the mound as well.

Brody Sharp | 2028 | C | Rouse | R/R | 6’0”, 190
Sharp threw well during the defensive portion, posting sub-2.00 pop times with carry on his throws. Features a level bat path that produces hard line drives during BP, and that contact translates well into games, where he has shown the ability to impact the baseball to all fields. Receives and blocks well behind the plate.
