PA Summer ID: Quick Hits

On June 24th, our staff hosted the PA Summer ID at Penn State Harrisburg in Milddetown, PA. 18 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of players to follow in Pennsylvania.

We begin our post-event content today with our quick hits from the event, highlighting some of the notable players from the day and their numbers.

Position Players


+ C Colin Snell (St. Peters Boys, 2027) was one of the standouts at the PA Summer ID and turned in the top round of batting practice. The 5-foot-10, 187-pound right-handed hitting catcher showcased easy power to the pull side with a max exit velocity of 97.6 mph and a peak distance of 353 feet. He posted a 54% hard hit and sweet spot percentage. Defensively, Snell topped at 79 mph behind the dish with a 1.92-1.98 pop time.

 

+ 3B/2B Constantine Kofinis (McLean High, 2027) demonstrated a violent swing with fast hands, posting a 96.3 mph max exit velocity. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound infielder’s power and ability to lift the ball was on full display, topping out at 376 feet from the plate. He posted a 40% hard hit percentage while averaging an exit velocity of 88.9 mph, the highest mark from the event. Kofinis’ speed was also impressive with a 7.40 second 60-yard dash. 

2-Way Players

+ RHP/SS Vincent Boland (Hollidaysburg, 2027), the 129th ranked prospect in the class of 2027, starred on the mound and at the plate in the PA Summer ID. Coming in at 5-foot-7 and 147 pounds, Boland ran a 6.92 60-yard dash while popping max exit velocity of 95 mph. He constantly barrelled balls during his round while also topping at 87 mph from the infield. On the mound, the 40th ranked right handed pitcher in PA flashed four pitches with IZ and advanced spin metrics. His fastball ranged from 85-88 mph with 2630 rpm. The curveball and slider each spun 2616 rpm and 2695 respectively. Boland’s changeup came in around 81-82 mph with 1996 rpm. The rising senior is certainly on the rise.


Pitchers

+ RHP Jackson Hornick (Central Bucks-West, 2027) , the 11th ranked right handed pitcher in PA for the class of 2027 impressed on the bump. Hornick, 6-feet and 207 pounds, posted the highest fastball from the event at 89.0 mph with 2224 rpm. Hornick’s powerful fastball has 16.1 inches of IVB and 12.8 inches of HM that pounds the zone. He featured a 80-81 mph changeup and 74-78 mph slider. His changeup was another standout pitch that was thrown with under 800 rpm of spin, 14.1 inches of HM, and -5.1 IVB. A very interesting uncommitted right-handed pitcher out of the Keystone State.
