Arizona Class of 2029 Rankings: Post-Spring Update
June 17, 2026
ARIZONA - The Prep Baseball Arizona staff is excited to release the latest update to the Arizona 2029 Rankings following the conclusion of the 2026 high school season. After a spring filled with in game evaluations, postseason coverage, showcase looks, and continued player development throughout the state, significant movement has taken place within Arizona's talented 2029 class.
The 2029 class has now completed its freshman season, giving our staff an extended look at many of the top young prospects in Arizona. While the class is still early in its high school development, several players have already started to separate themselves through varsity production, advanced tools, physicality, athleticism, and overall projection.
This update provides an early snapshot of the class as players continue to develop physically and gain experience against older competition. With a busy summer evaluation period ahead, additional movement is expected as more players emerge throughout the state.
How We Evaluate & Update The Rankings
The Prep Baseball Arizona staff evaluates players year round through a combination of in game coverage, high school evaluations, showcase events, Scout Days, and objective data collected at Prep Baseball events. Strong game performance remains one of the most important factors in every rankings update. Production against quality competition, consistency throughout the season, athleticism, physical projection, and overall impact on winning all play a significant role in the evaluation process. Objective data collected through TrackMan, Blast Motion, VALD Performance testing, and defensive evaluations also provides important context when projecting long term upside.
Rankings are not built solely from statistics, nor are they determined entirely by showcase metrics. The goal is to combine both game performance and verified data to create the most complete picture possible of a prospect's current ability and future projection.
As players continue to mature physically and gain experience against higher levels of competition, movement throughout the rankings is natural and expected. In many cases, movement reflects the emergence of new prospects and the continued development of players throughout the state rather than a decline in the overall evaluation of another player.
