2026 Prep Baseball Iowa High School Scout Blog: Week 2

Eric Strunk 3B/ Iowa City Liberty High School, IA / 2027

The uncommitted 2027 uses a simple line drive swing to extend through the ball for a 2 RBI single then showed good base running to move up to 2nd on a bad throw from the outfield.

Brooks Vosburg SS / 2B / Grinnell High School, IA / 2027

A couple of deep fly outs to left. The first swing was a widened out 2K approach. Only 3K’s on the season in 29 AB’s. Athletic frame that moves well in the box and in the field.

Elijah Scott C/1B / Marion High School, IA / 2027

Creates barrel extension through the zone into right center for a 2 RBI double then uses the lower half to get to a down and in pitch with a hard round at 1st.

Dalton Klein C / RHP / REMSEN ST MARY'S, IA / 2028

Over the top arm slot, locating the FB in and out. Snapped off the 12/6 CB from the same release. Flashed a SL as well. Finished the night going 6.2 IP, 4 hits, 1 ER, and 13K’s.

The junior collected 2 hits on the night, flat line drive bat path through the zone. Uses a hip coil to generate power in the lower half.

Jaydon Leonard SS / 2B / Regina Catholic Education Center, IA / 2027

4 quality AB’s all on the barrel collecting 3 hits. Short stroke to the baseball and creates backspin to the middle part of the field.

6’6 frame with down hill action on the FB with clean arm action. Flashed the CB and CH for some weak contact during the 1+ inning of work.
