NPI: Impact 50, Class of 2029
June 25, 2026

The Prep Baseball National Program Invitational at LakePoint in Emerson, Ga., has served as the unofficial starting line of the summer circuit and now for this Class of 2029 it's become a major moment in their prep careers. These prospects had only just wrapped up their freshman seasons of high school baseball, their first true taste of the high school game this past spring, and now they've turned toward a summer that will begin to shape the trajectory of their sophomore year come the fall.
That early timing on the summer calendar is exactly what makes the NPI so valuable for this class. Long before commitments enter the conversation, the Prep Baseball gets to see how these budding prospects are coming along, all while concentrated in one spot, playing meaningful games against top peers, in the kind of environment where breakouts are born.
Many of those names will resurface at the end of the summer at the Super Sophomore Games, Prep Baseball’s regional showcase series for the 2029 class, held across the country to bring each region’s standouts back together against their peers. The NPI is where the introductions are made; the Super Sophomore Games are where they’re put to the test. Here’s where the 2026 series will be held:
| East Coast SSG | July 31–Aug. 2 | Lexington, S.C. | CT, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, SC, VA, & WV |
| Midwest SSG | July 31–Aug. 2 | Bloomington, Ind. | IL, IN, MI, OH, & WI |
| Central SSG | July 31–Aug. 2 | Parkville, Mo. | AR, CO, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, & OK |

| Texas/Louisiana SSG | Aug. 1–2 | Baton Rouge, La. | LA & TX |
| West Coast SSG | Sept. 11–13 | Eugene, Ore. | AZ, CA, HI, ID, NV, OR, UT, WA, & Canada |
TOP-5 IMPACT PLAYERS ⭐
|
No. 1 Cooper Holland SS / Santa Margarita Catholic HS, CA / 2029Holland commanded the attention of all each time he took to the field as one of the top prospects in this young class. There is considerable upside still to a lengthy 6-foot-2 frame that already shows advanced power for the age that showed at present with triple-digit exit velocities (with wood) and a back-side homer amongst several loud barrels at the NPI. Starting with high hands that flow into a strong launch position, Holland’s ability to track and punish pitches over the white stood out throughout the week to present a true hit/power profile moving forward. His ability to slow the game down was a clear takeaway on both sides of the ball. Never rushed and always relaxed, Holland played light-footed on the infield with soft hands and made routine plays look routine. — Cooper Trinkle (National Underclass Correspondent, Indiana Scouting Director) |

No. 2 Maddox Bryant MIF / Kingwood HS, TX / 2029It’s been nothing short of a breakout start to the summer for Bryant, who recently jumped into the top-10 overall in 2029 National rankings, as well as a stellar showing against elite competition at NPI a few weeks ago. The incoming sophomore shows one of the most advanced left-handed swings that I’ve seen this summer with the ability to stay extremely compact while showing tremendous zone coverage and present above-average bat speed. Bryant keeps balance through the quick-twitch load and has shown consistent ability to do damage across full pitch mixes. The hit/power ceiling for the infielder has a chance to be significant, and we’re already seeing impressive shades of it. Defensively, Bryant has shown actions and range that can play across the dirt with flashes of plus hands that could keep him up the middle long-term. There’s already lofty comps floating around in my head for Bryant, and with the way this summer has started, it’s hard not to be bullish. — Ian Smith (Georgia Asst. Scouting Director) |

No. 5 Cruz McBride RHP/OF / Dripping Springs HS, TX / 2029While he is certainly one of the most dynamic, polished, and ultra-upsided arms in the class, it was his athleticism and thunderous barrel as a position player that was most intriguing in this look. The lean, square-shouldered, 6-foot-2, 180-pounder was the standout bat in a lineup that was filled with a slew of talented hitters. A simple approach from the right side saw advanced bat speed drive a heavy barrel that got on plane early for some loud results. There is a rawness to the approach, but the results were undeniable and only serve to amplify his all-around upside. — Shooter Hunt (VP of Scouting)

No. 7 Beau Stevens C / Archbishop Rummel HS, LA / 2029The 6-foot, 195-pound left-handed hitting catcher enjoyed a strong showing that elicited the look of an impact bat in the class. Sturdily-built with natural strength throughout a future imposing frame, the bat speed stood out with a flat, adjustable path that demonstrated length in the zone with the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Also a quarterback, Stevens’ athleticism should provide for fast development. — Shooter Hunt |

No. 8 GG Wuis SS / Bob Jones HS, AL / 2030He looked so at home against the best players in the ‘28 class that it almost went forgotten that Wuis was walking around 8th grade hallways just a month ago. The 5-foot-10, 155-pound shortstop bounced around on both sides of the ball while astoundingly taking some professional at-bats and turning around some power-arms with ease. Sturdy on the back side with a leg-lift stride, the hands work naturally with some flick and provide length in the zone. Wuis covered the plate effectively with some firmer contact to all fields (including a back side double to the wall of a ‘27 MLB Draft arm that came in at 93 mph), and looks to have a sound foundation to build upon in coming years. — Shooter Hunt

No. 16 Nathan Handley-White RHP / IMG Academy, FL / 2029More physically advanced at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds, but with clear room for future development, Handley-White’s performance on the mound saw him touch north of 90 mph while featuring a three-pitch mix with feel for disrupting timing and throwing each for strikes. Athletic throughout a polished delivery, the arm works quick with the look of a left-side defender (he is also an intriguing position player), and there was a quiet confidence to the way he handled himself on the mound. There are likely more jumps to come, and equipped with an arsenal that stands to see an influx of power, Handley-White is clearly an arm to follow in the class. — Shooter Hunt

No. 18 Peyton Meleady RHP / Ocean Springs HS, MS / 2029A revelation amongst rising sophomores at the NPI, Meleady walked away as a clear winner after one of my favorite looks of the week. He has the look of a prototypical pitching prospect with broad shoulders and room to grow even further into a 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. Dropping-and-driving with a dynamic downhill move that helped him gain 7+ feet of extension, the arm worked loose in a more-compact fashion as he got to upper-80s (T89) velocities with easier efforts. The fastball played with bore and racked up swings-and-misses in bunches his first time through the order, before pulling out a sharp, firm, 79-82 slider with shape the second time through and flashing feel for a low-80s change throughout. The ability to pitch with a fastball, along with pristine projection to the frame, separated the Mississippi right-hander from others early in the outing, and the development of an interesting array of secondaries could push him amongst the top righties in the class in the coming years. — Cooper Trinkle

No. 39 Gavin Teeter OF / Evangelical Christian HS, FL / 2029Teeter has a ton of projection in a lean 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame. Got off some good swings and showed the power potential with multiple extra-base hits, including a homer. Teeter has a swing that creates leverage with present bat speed. His ability to roam centerfield with athleticism raises his stock as a prospect. — Rocco Iervasi (Florida Operations Director) |
|
No. 40 Kors Matthews LHP / Bartram Trail HS, FL / 2029Matthews showed two-way ability at the NPI with major upside on the mound. The 6-foot southpaw was up to 87 with his fastball, primarily sitting 84-85. It was an outing filled with strikes, using all four corners of the plate, and generated eleven swings and misses. He flashed a handful of breaking balls with sharp action. Matthews has a loose arm with a low-effort operation that should see continued jumps in the future. — Rocco Iervasi |
|
No. 42 Gant Ramsey C / Cocoa Beach HS, FL / 2029Ramsey was an extra-base machine and helped lead the Scorps to the #1 seed out of pool play. Strong build, 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame. Ramsey had multiple extra-base hits throughout the week and showed off power potential. He continuously found the barrel for hard, loud contact. Swing is compact with the ability to lift and drive the baseball. — Rocco Iervasi |
