Tomball Summer ID: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 9th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Tomball High School in Tomball, TX, to host the Tomball Summer ID, an open event for all high school classes.
More than 20 players made their way to Tomball HS and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the prospects who stood out throughout the event.

Jimmy Kearns | LHP | Tomball Memorial | 2027 | 6'0" 170
Clean left handed arm with a three pitch mix and feel for movement. The fastball sat 84 to 86 mph with arm side run and late life. The slider worked 72 to 74 mph with sweeping action and around 15 HM, giving him a quality secondary look. Also showed a splitter at 77 to 79 mph, adding another weapon to a solid left handed profile.
Wayen Slanina-Wertz | C | Canyon Lake | 2028 | 5'8" 170
Strong catching profile with quick actions behind the plate and solid catch and throw ability. Posted 2.01 to 2.16 pop times to second with a quick exchange, quick release, feet that work, and arm strength up to 73 mph. At the plate, shows a balanced swing with a small leg load and strength in the hands and barrel. Shows pull side juice with loud impact, topping at 100.2 mph exit velo.
Keagan Fosdick | C/2B | Tomball | 2028 | 5'8" 173
Fosdick continues to mature and build as a player with a strong, physical frame and good mover traits, posting a 6.98 sixty. Behind the plate, receives well with quick feet, a solid exchange, carry to the throw, and 1.91 to 2.01 pop times. On the dirt, shows quality actions with rhythm to the catch and throw, posting 79 mph across the diamond. At the plate, produces consistent loud impact, stays inside the ball well, and shows pop with exit velocities up to 101 mph.
Jonell Rodriguez | SS/2B | Oak Ridge | 2027 | 5'8" 165
Plus runner and mover with real athleticism, posting a 6.65 sixty and a max run speed of 21.4 mph. At the plate, Rodriguez shows the ability to work gap to gap and stay inside the baseball with a compact left handed stroke. The bat has extra base hit capability with a line drive approach that should continue to play at the next level. Defensively, he is a rangy middle INF with quick feet, a quick release, and the athleticism to impact the game in multiple ways.
Jude Hough | RHP | Langham Creek | 2028 | 6'1" 175
Tall, lean RHP with a solid frame and upside as he continues to add strength. Works from a repeatable delivery with a loose arm and quick hand, running the fastball 84 to 87 mph with strike command and arm side movement. The slider sat 74 to 75 mph with feel for spin, giving him a quality secondary pitch to build off. Also showed a changeup at 79 to 80 mph with some sink, rounding out a solid three pitch mix.
Liam Bell | OF | James Bowie HS | 2028 | 5'10" 175
Solid corner OF type with rhythm to the feet and the ability to play through the baseball. Arm strength is present with more in the tank, posting 86 mph from the OF. At the plate, shows a balanced and quiet stroke with very quick hands, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. Loud offensive profile with some pop and exit velocities up to 101.5 mph.
Noah Lindsay | LHP | Atascocita | 2027 | 5'10" 175
Solid left handed arm with strike command and quality movement throughout the mix. Works with an in place rock step and high leg lift, getting down the mound well with the fastball sitting 82 to 84 mph and spinning over 2300 rpm. The changeup is a quality offering at 74 to 76 mph with around -17 HM, while the slider sat 68 to 70 mph with around 20 HM. Strong secondary stuff and feel for movement give him a solid left handed profile with pitchability.
Colton Davis | RHP/OF | Calallen HS | 2027 | 6'1" 190
Projectable RHP/OF with a strong 6'1", 190 pound frame and some present strength. On the mound, the fastball sat 86 to 87 mph with 14 HM, while the two seam showed more run at 17 HM. The slider worked 73 to 75 mph, giving him a solid secondary pitch as command continues to develop. In the OF, showcased a strong arm up to 92 mph with nice actions, while the bat shows some length and strength with exit velocities up to 95 mph.
Payton Archibald | 1B/3B | Frenship | 2028 | 6'4" 230
Physical corner INF profile with a strong 6'4", 230 pound frame and real left handed impact at the plate. Shows a smooth left handed swing with a flat path, pull side pop, and exit velocities up to 98.5 mph. Has a chance to hit at the next level as the approach continues to develop and the strength keeps showing in game. Around the bag at 1B, the feet work well with soft hands, present glove actions, a quick release, and the ability to change arm angles.
