Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. The Caravan's offense tallied a total of 14 hits on the day and was led by LF Cullen Winters (2027) who was 3-for-4, 2B, RBI, R on the day. TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forrest) and Brady Holland (2026; Georgetown) each hit a HR and Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC), Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois), and Pancho Vasquez (2026) collected two hits apiece. Cory Les (2026; Louisville) 2-for-4, 4RBI, R, and Danny Donovan (UW-Parkside) 1-for-3, HR, RBI, R, BB performed well offensivley for St. Laurence. No. 6 Chicago Mt. Carmel will take on No. 4 Brother Rice on Satuday at 11am.

No. 15 Minooka upsets No. 2 Normal Community 8-2 in the Seciotianl Semifinal and improves their overall record to an impressive 31-6. Landon Currie (2027) led the way offensively for Minooka going 2-for-4, 2B, 2R, RBI, also contrubiting Ryan Keener (2026; Illinois Wesleyan), Gavin, McReynolds (Wisconsin-Stout), and Tyler Ebel (2027) each added two hits on the day. Zane Caves (2026; Michigan State) got the start on the mound posting a stat line of 5.2 IP, 5 H, 2R, 2ER, 3 BB, 7K and earning the win. Beckett Weber (2026) conributed on both sides of the ball for Normal going 2-for-3, RBI, BB on the day and throwing 2.1 IP scoreless innings out of the pen, while striking five. No. 15 Minooka Indians will play No. 22 Edwardsville in the Sectional Championship Saturday morning at home.

No. 4 Brother Rice defeated Reavis by a score of 7-2 in the Brother Sectional Semifinal to run their season record to 28-10. The Crusaders rallied back late to win the ball game after trailing 6-2 in the sixth inning. Offensively Brady Cunningham (2027: Texas A&M) led the way for Brother RIce going 3-for-3 with a HR, 2B and 3 RBI. Cunningham also started on the mound for Brother Rice going 5 IP, 9H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, 6K. Another key performer for the Crusaders was SS Colin Campbell (2027; Louisville) who went 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 BB. For Reavis they were paced offensively by 3B Anthony Perez (2026) 2-for-5 with 2 RBI, 1B Nathaniel Serrano (2027) 2-for-4, CF Jack Liesen (2026; Morton JC) 2-for-3 with 3 R, 2 BB, 1 RBI, HR and DH Juan Avila (2026) 1-for-2 with 2 RBI. Brother Rice advances to the Brother Rice Sectional Final against Mt. Carmel on Saturday at 11am.

Offensively CF Braxton Yates (2026; Lewis & Clark CC) 2-for-3 with 3R, 1BB, 1B Keegan Seipp 1-for-2, 2R, 2RBI and RF Carter Gaskill (2026; Illinois-Springfield) 1-for-2 2R, 2RBI led the way for Triad. The Knights will take on Mascoutah in the Sectional Final on Saturday at 11am.

St. Chares North upsers No. 7 Huntley in the Sectional Semifinal game 6-5 and improves their season record to 25-12-1. Landon Paul (2027) got the start for St. Charles North throwing logging 3.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3K and Josh Kobylinski (2026) earned the win out of the pen throwinf 2.1 scoreless innings. Offensively Julian Harmon (2026) 2-for-2, 1RBI, 2R, BB and Nick Gnutek (2027) 1-for-2, 2RBI led the way. Liam Nash (202&) got the start for the Red Raiders and only gave up two runs across, four innings, while striking out five. Drew Borkowski (2026; Heartland CC) was electric offensively with two solo shots and Brady Klepfer (2026; UW-Parkside), Diego Herrera (Parkland JC), and Leo Bianchin (2026; Kishwaukee JC) eached added two hits as well. St. Charles North will play Barrington in the Sectional Final Saturday morning at McHenry High School.

On the mound the Champions were led by RHP Ronan Owens (2026; UMass Amherst) 4IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 5K and RHP Alex Delaney 3IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 4K. Offensively the Lane attack was paced by 3B Tanner Toback 2-for-2 with 1RBI, SS Paris Head 1-for-3 with 1R and 2B Eric Acevedo 1-for-3 with 1R. The Champions will meet Glenbrook North in the Lane Sectional Final on Saturday at 11am.

At the place the Downers North offense was led by DH Oliver Gibson (2027) 1-for-3 with 2RBI, 3B Anothony Russotiesi (2027) 2-for-3, SS Emilio Gandarilla (2026; Des Moines Area CC) 2-for-4, 1R and 2B Rhys Dominow (2026) 1-for-3, 2B, 1RBI, 1R. The Porter offense was led by RF Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis) 3-for-4, 2B, 3R, 1RBI, C Drew Satunas (2026; Grand Valley State) 1-for-3, 2B, BB, 1R, 1RBI and 3B Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue Northwest) 2-for-3, 2RBI. Downers Grove North advances to the Lockport Sectional Final against Naperville Central on Saturday at 11am.

Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State) got the start for the Libertyville and went the distance for the Wildcats finishing with an impressive stat line of 7 IP, 6 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 5 K. The Wildcats offense was fueled by Bode Rohrbach (2026) 2-for-3, HR, 3RBI, 2R and Carson Holmes (2026) 2-for-3, 2B, 2RBI, R. Ryan Wolverton (2026) tallied two hits for Mundelien and Johnny Weiss (2026; Illinois-Springfield) had their only RBI. No. 12 Libertyville will face up against Warren Township on Saturday to try and capture another Sectional Title.

AJ Minderman (2028) got the start for the Vikings on the mound and went 5.2 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 2 BB, 5 K. The Vikings offense was dominate from the start and collected a total 11 hits on the day. They were led by 3B Ryan Kastor (2026) 3-for-4, 2RBI, R, Mason Bruesch (2027; Michigan State) 2-for-5, 3B, 2RBI, 2R, and SS Nelson Wendell (2027) 2-for-3, 2RBI, R, BB. Cooper Zuroske (2026) had the Blue Thunder's only run batted in and Noah Tauscher (2026) scored their only run. No. 14 Geneva will take on Boylan Catholic in the Sectional Championship @11am on Saturday.

Nolan Lebert (2026; Olivet Nazarene) threw 7 IP, 4 H, R, 0 ER, BB, 6 SO, for the Indians and earned himself the win. Catcher Carson Moll (2026; Rend Lake JC) powered their offense going 2-for-3 with a double and run batted in. Jacksonville's offense was quiet on the day but was led by Jack Rohlk (2029) who went 2-for-3 and Cy Kershaw (2026) threw one and third scoreless innings out of the pen for the Crimdons. No. 16 Mascoutah will take on No. 5 Triad in the Sectional Championship on Saturday.

No. 17 Tremont took on Athens on Wednesday and beat them 7-1 improving their record to an impressive 35-2. Aaron Dawson (2027) got the start on the mound for Tremont and was nothing but incredible finishing with 7 IP, 3 H, R, ER, BB, 12 K. Offensively Tremont collected a total of 12 hits on the day and was paced by Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland CC) 3-for-3, 2 3B, 2RBI, R, BB. Hunter Smith (2026; Monmouth College) 2-for-3, HR, 2RBI, R, and Chase Rhodes (John A. Logan JC) 2-for-3 also contributed to Tremont's powerful offense. Owen Alderman hit an RBI double to get the Warriors on the board in the 6th. No. 17 Tremont will compete against Lexington on Saturday for a Sectionl Title.

Parker Roop (2027; Belmont) got the start for the Pioneers and went 5.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K and earned the win. Issac Schroeder (2028) came out of the pen threw one and third shutout innings, while earning the save. Griffin Meyer (2026) had a double for the Pioneers as well as scoring a run for them. Drew Ward (2026; Illinois Wesleyan) was in the mound for Sacred Heart-Griffin and finished with 6 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, K. Mikey Groesch (2027) hit a two run bomb for the Cyclons as well. No. 18 Normal University will play Champaign Central in the Sectional Final Saturday Mornnig at 11.

Aidan Barrera (2026; South Suburban JC) got the start for the Eagles on the mound going 4 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K. Lincoln-Way West offense tallied a total of five hits on the day and two of them were by shortstop Quienten Lange. Sandburg will take on Lincoln-Way Central on Saturday at 11am for the Sectional Championship.

The Tigers recorded eight hits offensively and benefited from some timely hitting by PH Ty Hunt (2027) 1-for-1, 2B, 2RBI, R. Sutton Leas (2027) was also 3-for-3 on the day. O'Fallon's offense was powered by CF Anthony Perez (2026; Central Alabama CC) 3-for4, 3R, SS Carson Bauer (2026; Drury) 2-for-3, RBI, R, and 2B Brayden Robertson (2026; Illinois-Springfield) 1-for-3, 2RBI. No. 22 Edwardsville will take on No. 15 Minooka in the Sectional Final on Saturday.

Some other notable performances for the Crusaders are Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC), Easton Debernardi, (2027) and Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso). Manny Deoudes was 2-for-3 with an run batted in for IC Catholic Prep. No. 23 Marquette will take on Wilmington in the Sectional Championship on Saturday, June 6 @11am.

No. 24 Dunlap took down Joliet Catholilc by the score of 11-7. Dunlap had the bats working in this one, collecting sixteen hits as a team en route to the win. Brett Alkire (2027) led the offensive charge with a three hit performance, collecting a triple and four RBIs in the win. Eli Michanicou (2027; Bradley) collected a pair of RBIs in a 2-for-5 performance. Ryder Rennette (2028) reached base four times, going 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and two runs scored. With their win over Joliet Catholic, Dunlap advances to the 3A Washington Sectional Final where they will take on East Peoria at 11:00 am this Saturday.

Wilmington recieved a strong start out of Dierks Geiss (2026; Greenville), who nearly went the distance, going 6.2 innings and allowing just two runs to score, collecting a pair of strikeouts on the day. Ryan Kettman (2026; Augustana) did everything you could ask for out of the leadoff spot, reaching base four times in a 2-for-2 performance with two walks, including a solo home run. With their win over Manteno, Wilmingotn will play Marquette at Herscher this Saturday at 10:00 am.

Will Rewers (2026; Saint Ambrose) was nothing short of dominant in his start for St. Rita, allowing just one hit in his five shutout innings of work, racking up tweleve strikeouts in the process. Aden Gutierrez (2028) was perfect at the plate, leading the charge offensively with two doubles and three runs driven in during a 3-for-3 performance. Braden Quinn (2027) had a pair of hits and RBIs in the game, also hitting a double in a 2-for-3 showing. Joe Camer reached base three times in a 2-for-2 day, also scoring a pair of runs. With the win, St. Rita will go to take on Marian this Saturday at 12:00 pm.

Thomas Neubert played the hero in this one, hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh advance in the state tournament. Harvest-Westminster also recieved a complete game from Jameson Rapinchuk (2026; Maryville), who went seven innings, allowing two hits, two walks, and an earned run, as well as punching out ten. With their win, Harvest-Westminster will take on Winnebago this Saturday at 11:00 am in Byron.
