2026 Four Corners ProCase: Quick Hits

Phoenix, Arizona - The Four Corners ProCase once again brought together many of the top prospects from across the western United States, providing a premier evaluation setting for some of the region's most talented upperclass players. With prospects representing Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Hawaii, the event featured high level competition and an abundance of college and professional talent. Arizona was well represented throughout the roster, with players showcasing their abilities through a full pro style workout that included athletic testing, defensive evaluations, batting practice, and bullpen sessions. In this Quick Hits series, our staff takes a closer look at the Arizona players who stood out at this year's Four Corners ProCase and the tools that continue to make them some of the top prospects in the state.

OUTFIELDERS

JJ Utash OF / Williams Field High School, AZ / 2027

JJ continues to establish himself as one of the premier athletes in the West Coast 2027 class. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound Texas commit turned in one of the loudest workouts of the day, posting a 6.53 sixty, 30.9-inch vertical, 107 mph max exit velocity, and 93 mph arm strength from the outfield. The physicality immediately stands out, but what continues to impress is how well the tools translate into baseball actions. JJ creates easy bat speed with present strength and leverage throughout the swing, showing the ability to impact the baseball to all fields while still possessing considerable offensive upside. As the body continues to mature and the movement patterns become more refined, the ceiling remains among the highest in Arizona's 2027 class.

Aldo Teilon SS / OF / Tucson, AZ / 2027

Aldo delivered one of the most complete positional workouts of the event and looked every bit the part of a future impact player. The Arizona State commit generated a 106 mph max exit velocity while driving balls with authority to both gaps, producing some of the best carry and backspin seen during batting practice. The left handed swing remains one of the more polished looks in the class, combining present bat speed with natural rhythm and barrel accuracy. Defensively, Aldo showed his versatility by posting 95 mph from the outfield while also displaying the twitch, body control, and arm strength to comfortably handle the infield. The overall athleticism and offensive polish continue to trend upward.

Chase Fillman OF / LHP / Millennium, AZ / 2028

One of the younger players in attendance, Chase more than held his own against an older group and produced one of the louder offensive performances of the day. The physical 6-foot-1, 224-pound left handed hitter posted a 104 mph max exit velocity while launching a ball 408 feet, one of the longest tracked balls of the event. Chase creates impressive leverage through the zone and generates easy power thanks to his combination of strength and rotational explosiveness. The offensive upside is obvious, but he also showed arm strength from both sides of the ball, reaching 93 mph from the outfield and running his fastball up to 90 mph. The combination of size, power, and two way potential makes him one of Arizona's most promisong 2028 prospects.

Derek Wilson OF  / Red Mountain, AZ / 2027

Derek continues to trend in the right direction as an athletic outfielder with impact tools beginning to emerge. The left handed hitter showed present strength at contact, producing a 97 mph max exit velocity and carrying balls up to 385 feet during batting practice. There is clear intent in the swing with the ability to impact the baseball when he gets extended out front. Defensively, Derek showcased one of the stronger outfield arms in attendance at 94 mph while displaying accurate throws and repeatable actions throughout the workout. The combination of offensive strength and arm talent gives him a profile that should continue to attract attention moving forward.

Chase Heid OF / Mountain Ridge, AZ / 2027

The physicality immediately jumps out with Chase, and the power potential remains one of the more exciting aspects of his profile. At 6-foot-3 and over 200 pounds, the Indiana commit generated a 97 mph max exit velocity with multiple hard hit balls throughout batting practice. The left handed swing features present leverage and strength, creating loud contact when everything syncs up. Defensively, Chase showed solid arm strength at 86 mph from the outfield while continuing to move well for his size. There is considerable offensive upside still remaining as he continues to simplify and repeat the operation.

Evan Thompson OF / C / Casteel, AZ / 2029

One of the youngest players at the event, Evan looked comfortable competing against a field loaded with upperclass talent. The 2029 prospect posted a 102 mph max exit velocity and drove balls up to 403 feet, showcasing advanced strength and bat speed for his age. The left handed swing features natural whip through the zone with present impact already showing up in game like movements. Defensively, Evan posted 87 mph from the outfield while continuing to display athletic actions and body control. The physical development and offensive upside point toward a very bright future.

Macgraw VanWormer OF / Casteel, AZ / 2029

Macgraw once again proved why he sits among the top players nationally in the 2029 class. The athletic right handed hitter turned in a 6.38 sixty, THE fastest time of the entire event, while also producing a 99 mph max exit velocity and 94 mph arm strength from the outfield. The combination of speed, twitch, and overall athleticism stands out immediately. At the plate, Macgraw continues to show quick hands and the ability to create line drive contact with authority. As he continues to add strength and refine the offensive operation, the tool set gives him a chance to develop into one of the premier prospects in the country for the class.


INFIELDERS

Robert Villa III SS / Liberty, AZ / 2027

Bobby once again demonstrated why he remains one of the more dynamic middle infielders in the region. The switch hitter turned in a strong all around workout, running a 6.46 sixty while showing advanced barrel control and a mature approach from both sides of the plate. The offensive profile is built around quality contact, using the entire field and consistently finding the sweet spot. Defensively, Bobby displayed excellent body control, arm accuracy, and the ability to throw from multiple slots while maintaining carry and precision. The athleticism and versatility continue to make him one of the safest bets in Arizona's 2027 class.

Baylor Denny SS / Casteel, AZ / 2027

Baylor delivered one of the more polished offensive performances among the infield group. The Oklahoma commit posted a 102 mph max exit velocity and 387 foot max distance while showing a swing built for consistent impact. The barrel works naturally through the zone, creating carry and backspin without sacrificing balance or posture. Defensively, Baylor continues to move well on the dirt, showing rhythm through his actions and clean transfers around the bag. The offensive profile continues to trend upward as strength and confidence continue to emerge.

Dre Ethier SS / Brophy, AZ / 2027

Dre continues to impress with a combination of athleticism, defensive instincts, and long term projection. The Miami commit ran a 6.52 sixty while posting a 97 mph max exit velocity and displaying quality bat speed throughout batting practice. The swing works best when everything stays synced, allowing him to stay through the baseball and create line drive contact from gap to gap. Defensively, Dre was outstanding, showing fluid actions, soft hands, plus range, and the ability to get rid of the baseball quickly from multiple angles. The overall athletic package continues to point toward a high level future.

Jace Harrell SS / Chandler High School, AZ / 2027

Jace continues to look like one of the premier athletes in Arizona's 2027 class. The switch hitter produced a 103 mph max exit velocity while driving a ball 395 feet, showing increasing impact from both sides of the plate. At 6-foot-2, there is still plenty of room for physical development, and the offensive ceiling continues to rise as additional strength is added. Defensively, Jace moved with the same smooth athleticism that has become synonymous with his game, showing soft hands, quality footwork, and the ability to make plays while on the move. The overall combination of athleticism, defensive ability, and offensive upside remains extremely appealing.

Maddon DelaCruz SS / Corona Del Sol, AZ / 2027

Maddon looked right at home among one of the strongest fields assembled this summer. The San Diego commit produced a 99 mph max exit velocity while showing the compact stroke and athletic operation that has made him one of Arizona's top middle infielders. Throughout batting practice, Maddon consistently found the barrel and flashed the ability to drive the baseball with authority to all fields. Defensively, he showcased the smooth actions, range, and arm strength expected from a high level shortstop, posting 88 mph across the diamond. The overall polish and baseball instincts continue to separate him from many of his peers.

Blake Gonzales 3B / Casteel, AZ / 2027

Blake showcased the strength and athleticism that have made him one of Arizona's more intriguing prospects. The BYU commit posted a 99 mph max exit velocity while driving balls up to 380 feet and consistently creating hard contact throughout batting practice. The right handed swing works well when he stays relaxed and lets his strength work naturally through the baseball. Defensively, Blake showed athletic footwork and body control at third base, moving comfortably to both sides while creating quality throwing angles. The overall profile continues to trend upward on both sides of the ball.

Troy Tewers 3B / Liberty, AZ / 2028

Troy continues to look the part of one of Arizona's top young corner infield prospects. The physical 6-foot, 203-pound frame already carries significant present strength, and that showed up during batting practice where he produced a 99 mph max exit velocity and 358 foot max distance. The right handed swing creates leverage and power potential, particularly to the pull side and right center gap. Defensively, Troy showed quick hands and confidence at third base while getting rid of the baseball efficiently. As the athleticism and overall polish continue to develop, the offensive upside remains very exciting.

Owen Konerko 3B / OF / Cactus Shadows, AZ / 2027

Owen delivered another strong offensive showing while continuing to display the physical strength that has become a staple of his game. The Michigan commit posted a 100 mph max exit velocity and consistently drove baseballs with authority throughout batting practice. There is present bat speed and strength throughout the operation, particularly when he gets extended and works through the middle of the field. Defensively, Owen showed solid fundamentals both in the outfield and at third base, displaying reliable actions and accurate throws. The offensive impact potential remains the carrying tool and should continue to play at higher levels.


CATCHERS

Lincoln Demmons C / Casteel, AZ / 2027

Lincoln turned in one of the loudest offensive performances of the entire event and continues to trend upward as one of Arizona's premier catching prospects. The Utah commit posted a 106 mph max exit velocity while averaging over 97 mph off the bat, routinely producing some of the hardest contact seen throughout batting practice. The right handed swing is built around explosive rotational power and present strength, creating impact to all fields when synced up. Behind the plate, Lincoln shows grittiness, the ability to keep the ball in front, comfotably handle high quality pitchers, quick hands and a plus transfer, recording pop times as low as 1.88 seconds while continuing to demonstrate the athleticism that separates him from many catchers. The offensive upside is substantial, and the defensive tools continue to improve with every apearance. 

Colin Murphy C / Chandler, AZ / 2027

Colin continues to show why he is one of the more intriguing offensive catchers in Arizona's 2027 class. The 6-foot-3 backstop generated a 101 mph max exit velocity while consistently showing the ability to impact the baseball with leverage and strength. There is still additional offensive upside present as Colin continues to refine the swing and learn to stay behind the baseball more consistently. Defensively, he displayed quality actions behind the plate, posting sub 2.0 pop times while showing a fundamentally sound operation throughout the workout. The combination of size, offensive projection, and defensive reliability gives him an exciting long term profile.

Peyton Burgess C / Millennium High School, AZ / 2028

Peyton continues to impress with a physical frame and a skill set that projects well for the future. The 2028 prospect showed present strength throughout batting practice, producing a 94 mph max exit velocity while flashing the ability to drive the baseball with authority when on time. At 6-foot-1 and nearly 200 pounds, there is already significant physicality in the build with room for additional offensive development moving forward. Behind the plate, Peyton recorded pop times down to 1.93 seconds while showing steady receiving actions and arm strength. As the offensive operation continues to mature, Peyton has the tools to develop into one of the stronger catching prospects in Arizona's 2028 class.


PITCHERS

Zayden Peltz OF / Chandler, AZ / 2027

Zayden continues to cement himself as one of the premier athletes and arms in Arizona's 2027 class. The Cal Poly commit worked in the 92-93 mph range and touched 93 mph while producing over 2,500 RPM of average fastball spin with quality carry through the zone. The fastball plays with natural life and projects to continue trending upward as he gains additional experience on the mound. His athleticism remains one of the biggest separators, evidenced by a 34.6 inch vertical jump and the ability to repeat movements despite still being relatively new to pitching. The overall combination of athleticism, arm speed, and upside continues to make Zayden one of the more exciting follows in the West.

Jace Adams RHP / Flagstaff High School, AZ / 2027

Jace delivered one of the better velocity outings among Arizona arms at the event, working 90-92 mph and reaching 92 mph with quality life through the zone. The Arizona State commit generated over 2,500 RPM of average fastball spin while showing the arm strength and physicality that have made him one of the more intriguing power arms in the region. At 6-foot-3 and nearly 200 pounds, there is still projection remaining in the frame. His slider showed flashes of becoming a quality secondary weapon, giving him another pitch capable of missing barrels. The overall package continues to trend upward heading into a pivotal summer.

Will Gnirk LHP / Chaparral, AZ / 2027

Will continues to show the characteristics that make him one of Arizona's top left handed prospects. The Indiana commit worked in the upper 80s and touched 91 mph while creating quality angle and deception from the left side. The fastball showed strong metrics throughout the outing, playing effectively off a breaking ball that generated over 2,500 RPM of average spin. Will's ability to create uncomfortable at bats while maintaining strike throwing ability continues to stand out. The combination of present stuff, projection, and handedness gives him a very attractive profile moving forward.

Evan Hedlund LHP / Casteel, AZ / 2028

One of the younger arms in attendance, Evan looked comfortable competing against an older group and continued to show why he is one of Arizona's more intriguing 2028 prospects. The left hander worked 88-90 mph while touching 90 mph and demonstrated advanced feel for multiple pitches. His fastball showed quality movement characteristics, while both the breaking ball and slider flashed the potential to become reliable secondary offerings. The combination of present velocity, feel, and projection is impressive for a player his age. As strength and experience continue to build, Evan will become a significant name in Arizona's 2028 class.

Brock Reichwein LHP / Perry, AZ / 2027

Brock showcased a polished four pitch mix and the ability to compete in the strike zone throughout his outing. The 6'4 Pittsburgh commit worked 86-88 mph while touching 89 mph from the left side and consistently landed multiple secondary offerings for strikes. The changeup showed particularly intriguing characteristics, creating separation from the fastball while maintaining arm speed. Brock's ability to manipulate several different pitches gives him numerous ways to attack hitters. The overall feel and pitchability continue to be defining traits of his profile.

Soren Etheridge RHP / Phoenix Country, AZ / 2027

Soren once again showed why he is regarded as one of the top pitchers in the state. The Wake Forest commit worked comfortably in the 90-92 mph range while touching 93 mph, pairing the fastball with over 2,500 RPM of average spin. The delivery remains clean and repeatable, allowing him to consistently fill the strike zone while maintaining quality movement profiles. His breaking ball continues to give hitters a different look when landed, creating shape and depth that plays well off the fastball. The overall competitive nature continue to stand out every time he takes the mound.

Grady Openden RHP / Brophy Prep, AZ / 2027

Grady continues to find ways to get outs despite not necessarily overpowering hitters with velocity alone. The Arizona commit worked 87-88 mph and showed the ability to consistently attack the strike zone with a fastball that plays above its velocity thanks to his operation and pitchability. His breaking ball remains one of the more interesting components of the arsenal, generating nearly 2,800 RPM of average spin while creating quality shape. Grady's ability to sequence pitches and disrupt timing continues to make him effective against quality competition. The overall feel for pitching remains advanced for his age.

Ayden McGinnis LHP / OF / Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ / 2027

Ayden delivered one of the more complete two way performances among Arizona players in attendance. At the plate, the left handed hitter showed a quick, rotational swing with present bat speed, producing an 84 mph average exit velocity and 97 mph max exit velocity while consistently finding the barrel throughout batting practice. The offensive profile features quickness through the zone with the ability to impact the baseball when he gets extended out front. Defensively, Ayden showed a smooth, fluid arm action in the outfield and posted 87 mph from the position, showcasing athleticism that translates well across the field. On the mound, he worked 85-87 mph and touched 88 mph while showing feel for both a breaking ball and developing third offering. The fastball featured solid spin characteristics, and his ability to throw multiple pitches for strikes helped round out one of the more intriguing two way showings from the event.
