2026 16U National Championship: Event Leaders + Recap

On July 1, the 2026 Prep Baseball 16U National Championship wrapped up at LakePoint in Emerson, Ga., where a champion was crowned after going 10-0 against the toughest Class of 2028 competition in the country. In this piece, we'll cover the tournament's top performers in conjunction with their in-event data and relevant showcase data compiled since the beginning of 2025.

Tournament Champions 🏆

16U National champs:
Southeast Rawlings M.A.D. Mavericks

Southeast Rawlings M.A.D. Mavericks won all 10 games at LakePoint this past week en route to claiming the PBT 16U National Championship in a 5-1 win over runners-up Diamond Jacks Super 16s on Wednesday.

Offensively, INF Tommy Travers (Independence HS, TN) led his club from the middle of the order and he actually finished as the tournament's hits leader (16) and he drove in 10 runs along the way. He's a left-handed-hitting infielder with sub-7.00 speed as a 6-foot-1, 175-pound athlete. MIF Graham Stockton (Liberty Creek HS, TN) was a slick defender at shortstop throughout the event and he pitched in offensively, too, including a clutch game-tying single during elimination play. C Jack Rhodes (Christ Presbyterian HS, TN) is one of the top '28s from his home state and he came up with a clutch double in the semis that propelled Mavericks to the title game. Uncommitted '27 OF Luc Michitti (Brentwood HS, TN) has tools and some right-handed pop, adding a few extra-base hits to the lineup throughout the week, and he heated up once bracket play began.

CIF/RHP Wright Martin (Christ Presbyterian HS, TN) and RHP/OF Will Sloane (Christ Presbyterian HS, TN) combined for the two-hitter in the championship game. Martin is one of the top-ranked right-handed hitters in Tennessee's '28 class while Sloane has mid- to upper-80s velo and can spin a breaking ball; he also pitched 2.1 perfect innings in the team's opener, and another clean pair of innings in the round of 16 come-from-behind win. LHP McClain Ridler (Summit HS, TN) impressed back at the NPI and then again at the 16U Natty, and he'll be back at LakePoint in a few weeks for the 2026 Prep Baseball Future Games; he K'd six in four shutout innings during pool play on June 26, and kept Mavericks in that same round of 16 game that required the dramatic comeback. Ridler was up to 90 mph, which was one of the top velos among lefties at the tourney.
