The 2026 SC Rising Stars ID was set for Tuesdays, July 14th, at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. The Rising Stars IDs help update evaluations and metrics. This setting provides a prime opportunity for prospects to strengthen their Prep Baseball profiles and position themselves for invitations to premier summer events such Carolina Border Battle, SC Top Prospect Games, and JR Future Games.

The Preseason ID plays a crucial role on the Prep Baseball calendar, serving as an early identification point before the SCHSL season. These events allow our scouting staff, and college recruiters, to establish a strong follow list entering the spring. Our staff strategically hosts preseason events across the state with the goal of identifying emerging prospects who have capitalized on the offseason, while also re-evaluating known players trending upward. Complete player profiles, including tech metrics, statistics, video, and detailed scouting reports, will be published on the Prep Baseball Report website, which is followed by more than 1,000 college programs nationwide.

The event began with A pro-style workout for all the position players followed that included running a laser timed 60 recorded using Vald Preformance Technology, pitcher bullpens with each pitch tracked by Trackman, a defensive evaluation, and finished with BP with TrackMan ball flight analysis.

QUICK HITTERS (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)

Paxton Becker LHP / 1B / D.W. Daniel, SC / 2030  Becker continues to stand out as one of the more physical young two-way prospects in the 2030 class. The left-hander worked 77-80 mph and touched 80, showing a fastball with quality angle from his 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame. He complemented it with a 62-65 mph breaking ball and a 68-71 mph changeup, flashing feel for a three-pitch mix that projects well as he continues to develop.

Cooper Henderson SS / RHP / Union County High, SC / 2030 Henderson showed a polished young arsenal with feel for multiple pitches throughout his outing. The right-hander worked 78-79 mph attacking the strike zone with confidence and showing the ability to command the fastball.  He complemented it with a 67-70 mph breaking ball that consistently landed for strikes and a 66-68 mph changeup that gave him another quality option against hitters.

REED MCDANIEL RHP / SS / Spartanburg, SC / 2030 McDaniel put together one of the stronger two-way performances among the 2030 class.  On the mound, the right-hander worked 83-84 mph an advanced velocity for his age, while showing confidence in a deep four-pitch mix. His breaking ball at 70-73 mph and changeup at 71-73 mph both flashed quality feel, making McDaniel one of the more advanced young arms to watch in South Carolina's 2030 class.

Knox McDonald 1B / RHP / Fox Creek, SC / 2030 McDonald showed a solid foundation on the mound with a feel for pitching that stands out for a young prospect.  The right-hander worked 71-72 mph and touched 73, consistently filling the strike zone with his fastball.  He complemented it with a 65-66 mph breaking ball and a developing 63-66 mph changeup, giving him three pitches to work with as he continues to mature.
