Top Prospect Games Huntsville: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, July 7th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, to host the Top Prospect Games: Huntsville, an invite-only event for all high school classes.

More than 20 players made their way to Sam Houston State and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the prospects who stood out throughout the event.

Harrison Coneway | RHP | Panther Creek | 2028 | 6'2" 173
Projectable RHP with a lean 6'2", 173 pound frame and a quick arm. The fastball sat 82 to 84 mph with approximately 2300 rpm, showing quality command in the zone. The cutter is a real weapon at 76 to 77 mph with short, quick, late action and projects as a swing and miss offering. Mixed in a softer slider at 70 mph with around -18 HM, giving him a quality second breaking ball that complements the cutter well.

Garet Hackenbruch | RHP | Atascocita | 2027 | 6'1" 195
Live arm with a strong 6'1", 195 pound frame and present strength. The fastball sat 88 to 92 mph with around 2400 rpm, showing quality life and feel for the zone. The slider worked 80 to 84 mph, spinning up to 2600 rpm, and generated a ton of swing and miss in game play. Physical power arm with a quality fastball/slider combination and the secondary stuff to miss barrels consistently.

Peter Hebert | RHP | Stratford | 2028 | 5'11" 176
Projectable RHP with present arm strength and a build that should continue to mature physically. Works from a repeatable, deliberate delivery, running the four seam fastball 84 to 86 mph with some ride and more velocity still in the tank. The slider is his best secondary, sitting 72 to 74 mph with approximately -20 HM and quality shape. Commanded both pitches well, giving him a solid foundation with pitchability and upside.

Brayden Lyszaz | SS/RHP | Cooper | 2029 | 5'11" 172
Athletic mover with some present strength for the age group, posting a 6.96 sixty. At the plate, shows quick hands, bat speed, and the ability to turn the barrel, giving him a chance to impact the baseball consistently. Defensively, shows solid actions on the dirt with range and arm strength that play on the left side. On the mound, the fastball sat 84 to 85 mph, adding a 65 to 68 mph curveball while showing strike throwing ability with both pitches as the delivery continues to become more consistent and repeatable.

Brady Bouska | SS | Tomball Memorial | 2028 | 5'10" 168
Quick twitch athlete with plus movement skills, posting a 6.57 sixty. At the plate, the quick hands and bat speed stand out, showing a pull side approach with loud impact and exit velocities up to 100.3 mph. Defensively, is a rangy middle INF with the athleticism to cover ground and arm strength up to 84 mph across the diamond. Dynamic follow with speed, athleticism, and offensive impact that gives him one of the higher upside middle INF profiles.

Micah Steely | C | Buda Johnson | 2028 | 5'5" 165
Quality catching profile with a solid foundation behind the plate, posting 2.04 to 2.11 pop times. Receives well with feet that work and a clean arm path. At the plate, shows a compact swing, stays inside the baseball well, and works with an up the middle approach. Consistently barreled line drives through the middle of the field, showing present feel to hit and quality bat to ball skills.

Nate Cisneros | OF | Rockwall-Heath | 2027 | 5'8" 157
Left handed hitter with a quality offensive foundation and a chance to hit at the next level. Shows real bat speed, quality bat to ball skill, and a clean bat path, staying inside and through the baseball well with gap to gap pop. In the OF, is a solid mover who plays through the ball with feet that work, a quick release, and accurate throws up to 85 mph. Athletic follow with a polished left handed bat and dependable defensive actions.

Landon Hawkinson | OF | College Station | 2028 | 6'0" 170
Projectable OF with a 6'0", 170 pound frame and plenty of room to continue adding strength. At the plate, shows the ability to get the barrel out with strong barrel accuracy and a chance to hit at a higher level. Produced exit velocities up to 101.9 mph and backed it up in game play with two base hits, including a line drive single and a two strike base hit. Offensive follow with present bat to ball skill, loud contact, and a mature approach that translates to game action.

Nicolas Collazo | SS/2B | Katy Tompkins | 2028 | 5'11" 180
Solid build and frame with smooth, polished actions in the middle infield. Defensively, shows plus actions at SS with quick feet, rhythm to the catch and throw, and a quick release that allows the actions to play up. At the plate, works from a balanced swing with a gap to gap approach and consistently finds the barrel. Produced several loud barrels in game play, including a base hit to the left side, showing the offensive approach translates against live pitching.

Landon Adkison | C | College Station | 2029 | 6'1" 191
Up and coming catcher with a strong 6'1", 191 pound frame and plenty of present strength for the age group. At the plate, shows the ability to turn the barrel from the left side with good rhythm, quick hands, and the tools to hit at a high level, producing exit velocities up to 101.5 mph. Behind the plate, posted 2.00 to 2.08 pop times with a strong arm up to 72 mph, showing a solid catch and throw foundation. High follow prospect with offensive upside, physicality, and the tools to be a player to watch over the next few years.

Nicholas Mendoza | OF/RHP | Cooper | 2029 | 6'3" 196
Athletic, physical two way player with a great 6'3", 196 pound frame and plenty of upside. Ran a 6.89 sixty with a chance to become a plus runner as he continues to mature. At the plate, shows a balanced swing with strength in the hands and barrel, producing exit velocities up to 102.5 mph. In the OF, moves well with a strong arm up to 89 mph, making him a toolsy prospect with a high ceiling to follow.

Brady Pennington | SS/2B | College Station | 2028 | 5'9" 142
Quality middle INF with smooth actions and a strong feel for the game. Defensively, the feet work well with a quick exchange, showing baseball instincts and making a plus play to the backhand side during game play. At the plate, works inside the baseball with quick hands and a flat bat path, projecting as a gap to gap style hitter. Gamer and competitor with a frame that should continue to add strength and round out an already polished skill set.
