Yellowhammer State Games: Quick Hits, Pitchers

NORTHPORT, AL - The 2026 Yellowhammer State Games made its debut to River Run Park in Northport, AL, on June 16-17 for the third edition of the premier summer event on the Prep Baseball Alabama calendar. More than 210 of the state's top prospects from the 2027-2030 classes converged in Northport for two days of pro-style workouts and gameplay while competing alongside and against many of Alabama's top talents.
With Future Games, Junior Future Games, and other marquee summer events on the horizon, the Yellowhammer State Games once again served as one of the most important evaluation opportunities of the year for the Prep Baseball Alabama staff. The event featured high-level competition, loud statistical performances, and numerous prospects who further elevated their stock heading into the remainder of the summer.
The following Quick Hits article highlights several standout performers from the pitching group with brief scouting notes and observations gathered throughout the event.

Colton Clark RHP / 3B / Hazel Green, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 35
Athletic 5-foot-11, 179-pound frame with intriguing two-way ability and a profile that still has room to develop on either side of the ball. The arm particularly stood out at this event, as Clark worked with a clean, athletic operation and attacked the top of the zone at 86-88 mph, topping at 89.2 mph. The fastball spun up to 2421 RPM with over 20 inches of induced vertical break, showing quality carry and ride through the zone. He paired it with a 71-75 mph curveball that showed vertical depth and played well off the fastball. Clark also continues to show offensive upside, posting a 100.1 mph exit velocity with a fluid operation at the plate. |

AJ Kramer LHP / OF / Prattville, AL / 2029Rankings StateRank: 5 OverallRank: 113
One of the top southpaws in the country in the 2029 class, Kramer showcased a polished three-pitch mix and advanced pitchability throughout his outing. The athletic left-hander works with athleticism throughout the delivery from a three-quarter arm slot with present arm quickness. He sat 84-87 mph and topped at 88.3 mph with natural arm-side run on the fastball. Kramer also spun a sweeping low-70s slider with command and sharp lateral break that he could land to both sides of the plate and effectively turned over an upper-70s changeup. He also showed present feel to hit at the plate. |

Hunter Dailey RHP / Shelby County, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 14
Projectable 6-foot-1, 163-pound frame with a live arm and plenty of development still ahead. Dailey showcased premium stuff with developing command, working at 86-88 mph and topping at 89.2 mph with 1800 RPM spin rates and single-digit induced vertical break on the fastball. The pitch has a heavy feel to it with the ability to induce ground balls and deaden barrels. He paired it with a firm 77-82 mph slider that showed sharp lateral action. A fluid, athletic mover with control over command but considerable upside moving forward. |

Ethan Levanda RHP / 1B / Montgomery Catholic, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 27
One of the better arms to throw at the event and a name for college coaches to track closely this summer. The primary right-hander possesses a lean, high-waisted 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame that projects extremely well moving forward. Levanda sat 86-88 mph and topped at 88.3 mph while pairing it with a 72-75 mph curveball that showed 11-to-5 shape and a 73-75 mph changeup as a quality third offering. Future velocity jumps appear likely as he continues to physically mature. Levanda also offers offensive upside with gap-to-gap juice that has consistently translated into game production. |

Brady Sack RHP / OF / Auburn, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 OverallRank: 463
A top-10 player in Alabama's 2027 class, the South Alabama recruit and former Future Games alum once again showcased one of the more dynamic tool sets in the state. The athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect works with athletic movements and an up-tempo delivery on the mound, sitting 86-89 mph and topping at 89.7 mph on a wet night after previously reaching 92 mph during the spring. He paired it with a 74-76 mph curveball that showed 11-to-5 shape and good bite while also showing the ability to manipulate the velocity when needed, and he rounded out the arsenal with a 75-79 mph changeup. Sack is also a high-level athlete with big offensive tools, running a 6.47-second 60-yard dash, working up to 94 mph from the outfield, and posting a peak exit velocity of 102.4 mph. |

Bryant Hopkins RHP / Valley, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 16
One of the premier uncommitted arms in Alabama's 2027 class, Hopkins is an arm college coaches should make a point to see this summer. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-hander is a clean, athletic mover with sound mechanics and operates from a higher three-quarter slot. He sat 85-88 mph and topped at 88.8 mph with spin rates up to 2343 RPM and natural arm-side run on the fastball. The separator is the breaking ball combination, as he spun a 68-72 mph curveball up to 2699 RPM and a 72-75 mph slider up to 2785 RPM, both showing premium depth and legitimate swing-and-miss qualities. Hopkins was sharp throughout his outing and consistently generated empty swings. |

Ryan Parent RHP / Daphne, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 24
One of the biggest risers in the latest Alabama 2027 rankings update, Parent backed it up at the Yellowhammer State Games by showing the quickest fastball of the event. The lean, projectable 6-foot, 169-pound right-hander features looseness and whip in the arm action and sat 89-91 mph while topping at 91.9 mph with good ride and carry through the zone. He paired it with a 72-76 mph curveball that showed vertical depth and served as an effective change-of-pace offering, while also killing spin on a 78-81 mph changeup. |

Aiden Kantmann RHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 63
A low-mileage, uncommitted right-hander who is still far from reaching his ceiling, Kantmann continues to trend as an intriguing follow in Alabama's 2027 class. He worked at 86-89 mph and topped at 89.8 mph with natural arm-side run on the fastball. He mixed in a 72-74 mph curveball that showed quality depth and also featured an 81-84 mph slider that played more like a cutter with late horizontal action, consistently missing the sweet spot of the barrel and emerging as his best secondary offering. |

Ethan O'Meara RHP / OF / Orange Beach, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 20
A live-armed, uncommitted right-hander with present strength and considerable upside remaining in the profile, O'Meara continues to be an intriguing follow in Alabama's 2027 class. The 6-foot-2, 178-pound prospect rotates well throughout the delivery and utilizes the lower half effectively to generate velocity, sitting 85-88 mph and topping at 89.1 mph on a wet night. While the command was occasionally scattered, the stuff proved difficult to handle when in the zone. He also showed a mid-70s slider with quality depth and some ability to tunnel off the fastball. |

Graham Segraves RHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 79
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-hander features an unconventional delivery with a hitch that creates deception and some funk to the operation. Segraves sat 87-89 mph and topped at 89.1 mph with a fastball that showed plenty of ride and carry, playing best at the top of the zone. The pitch spun up to 2369 RPM with impressive induced vertical break approaching 25 inches and consistently sitting in the low-20-inch range. He paired it with a 72-74 mph curveball that showed a hard 11-to-5 shape and spun up to 2597 RPM, at times generating over 20 inches of horizontal break. Segraves also mixed in a low-70s changeup to round out the arsenal. |

Drew Jackson III LHP / OF / American Christian, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 5 OverallRank: 211
The 5-foot-10, 173-pound southpaw showcased one of the better combinations of pitchability and underlying data at the event. Jackson worked at 83-86 mph and topped at 87.1 mph with a fastball that spun up to 2581 RPM and showed upper-teen induced vertical break metrics, creating plenty of ride and carry through the zone and allowing it to miss over the tops of barrels. He showed good feel for a 75-77 mph slider that featured both depth and lateral break while spinning up to 2498 RPM. Jackson also mixed in a slower 73-77 mph changeup that served as an effective change-of-pace offering while mirroring the fastball's action. |

Kingston Sims LHP / Providence Christian, AL / 2028Rankings StateRank: 90
One of the final arms to throw at the event, Sims turned in one of his sharper outings to date over two scoreless innings. The 5-foot-8, 158-pound right-hander has seen the velocity tick up while still maintaining his present ability to pitch. He works with a clean operation and incorporates some cross-fire in the delivery, holding 85-86 mph and topping at 86.9 mph with arm-side run and good zip to the fastball. Sims went to a 73-75 mph sweeping curveball for chase in deeper counts and showed an impressive ability to land it to the back foot of right-handed hitters, spinning it up to 2674 RPM. |

Evan Champion RHP / Northridge, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 55
The lean 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hander possesses a projectable frame with plenty of room to continue adding strength. Champion showed a quality three-pitch mix throughout gameplay and is coming off a strong spring as a starter on one of the state's top pitching staffs. He sat 84-86 mph and topped at 86.7 mph with a fastball that featured heavy sinking action and consistently produced weak ground-ball contact. He paired it with a 76-79 mph slider that worked effectively off the arm-side moving fastball, helping split the plate in half before darting to the glove side with good bite. Champion also mixed in a 75-79 mph changeup to round out the arsenal. |

Griffin Hendon RHP / SS / Vestavia Hills, AL / 2027Rankings StateRank: 111
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect continues to showcase intriguing two-way ability, and it's still difficult to determine which side of the profile holds more long-term upside as both are above-average for an uncommitted prospect. Hendon showed athletic actions throughout the delivery and put up quality data on the mound, sitting 83-85 mph and topping at 86.4 mph with spin rates up to 2441 RPM and natural arm-side run on the fastball. The separator was a slider that proved to be one of the best breaking balls at the event, operating at 72-76 mph with hard sweeping action and legitimate swing-and-miss potential. The pitch consistently spun in the 2700-2800 RPM range and topped at 2845 RPM. Hendon also continues to show offensive upside with a fluid swing, line-drive approach, and good actions in the batter's box. |

Eli Williams LHP / Faith Academy, AL / 2027Another talented arm coming out of the stable at Faith Academy, Williams continues to show an intriguing blend of stuff and pitchability. The 5-foot-8, 168-pound right-hander works from a higher, over-the-top slot and hides the baseball well throughout the delivery. He sat 84-85 mph and topped at 86.1 mph with a fastball that carried through the zone and produced 17-20 inches of induced vertical break. Williams paired it with a 74-76 mph slider that he snapped off with conviction, showing plenty of late depth and spin rates up to 2563 RPM. |
