With the 2026-27 school year approaching, the recruiting landscape continues to take shape across the New England region, with several rising seniors still available for college programs to pursue. From impact bats and athletic defenders to high-upside arms, this group features a variety of talented prospects who have the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. Here is a look at five uncommitted rising seniors from the New England region who should be on the radar as the recruiting process continues to unfold.

Jack Swanson SS / C / Berlin High School, CT / 2027The 5-foot-10, 180-pound infield / catching prospect offers advanced bat-to-ball skills and defensive versatility that allows him to impact the game at multiple positions while providing an intriguing overall profile for college programs. At the plate, Jack has a quiet, balanced setup with his bat resting on his back shoulder. During load, Jack double taps his front foot, coiling his weight into his back hip allowing for an efficient weight transfer. His strong lower half allows his hands to work close to his body to be able to attack inside pitches, producing loud contact at impact.Defensively, Jack offers versatility with the ability to slot into the middle infield, consistently attacking the ball out in front with confidence and trusting his quick hands to make plays before firing across the diamond with arm strength up to 84 MPH. He also offers upside behind the plate, working from a traditional crouch and springing out of it efficiently with a quick transfer and compact arm action that produces throws up to 77 MPH and pop times ranging from 1.94-2.04 seconds. The 6-foot-7, 230-pound lanky right-handed pitcher remains uncommitted heading into his senior year, 16 months removed from Tommy John surgery. With his projectable frame and continued development of a three-pitch mix, he offers plenty of upside and intrigue for college programs. Mechanically, Seamus works exclusively from the stretch with a drop and drive delivery. The arm stays compact in the backswing then works into a low ¾ release. Since returning from surgery, the FB has climbed back into the high 80s with the same natural armside run he showed pre-surgery, when it generated up to 17.6” of HM and 2,284 RPMs. The offspeed features a CB/SL in the high 70s with late gloveside break, a different look from the CB we saw a couple years ago. The CH also works in the high 70s range, generating slight armside fade and drop keeping hitters off balanced. With a 6-foot-7 frame, a developing three-pitch mix, and velocity already trending back into the high 80s, Seamus offers significant physical projection and plenty of upside as he continues to regain his pre-surgery form. |

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound uncommitted right handed pitcher has a power three-pitch mix that gives him multiple weapons to attack hitters and an intriguing arsenal for college programs. Mechanically, Jackson works quickly through a sidesaddle wind up with more room to get into his legs at delivery. The arm works with a long stabber motion in the backswing, hooking into a ¾ release with a quick, high-effort, and loose arm action helping his pitches generate high spin rates. His three-pitch mix features a FB mid to high 80s grabbing 90 MPH at times with up over 2200 RPMs and up to 19” of IVB and HM generating firm armside run out of the hand. The SL grades out as his best offspeed pitch sitting in the mid-to-high 70s getting over 2400 RPMs and -14” of HM generating heavy sweep and late sharp action. The CH rounds out the arsenal in the low 80s, pairing natural armside fade with the power of his FB and SL to give hitters a difficult three-pitch mix to navigate. With present velocity, high-spin offerings, and a power three-pitch mix, Jackson has the ingredients to develop into an impactful arm at the next level and should be an intriguing follow for college programs. |

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound uncommitted right handed pitcher has a three-pitch mix that gives him multiple weapons to attack hitters and the potential to develop into a high-impact arm at the next level. Mechanically, he works from a deliberate sidesaddle windup into a tall-and-fall delivery, creating efficient momentum down the mound while allowing the arm to work through a compact backswing into a ¾ release. The three-pitch mix features a firm FB sitting 87-89 MPH topping 90 MPH with up to 2490 RPMs and 18.5” of IVB generating rise out of the hand from a ¾ release. The CB grades out as his best pitch, sitting 72-75 MPH with sharp 11/5 action backed by up to 2,520 RPMs, -13” of IVB, and -15.6” of HM. The pitch has true knee-buckling action and can be a difference-maker when he gets ahead in counts, creating an uncomfortable at-bat for hitters. The CH rounds out the arsenal, sitting 75-78 generating late depth / drop creating multiple challenges for hitters throughout an at-bat. With a firm fastball, true swing-and-miss potential from the CB, and a developing changeup, he offers a well-rounded three-pitch arsenal with the stuff to continue developing into an impactful arm at the next level.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound two-way prospect offers legitimate upside on both sides of the ball, bringing intriguing tools behind the plate and on the mound as he heads into his senior season with plenty to offer college programs. At the plate, he has an extremely open-set stance with rhythmic hands held at ear-height. During load, he squares his front shoulder to the ball by hovering his front foot inward, closing himself off before rotating through the baseball with up to 21.9 g’s of rotational acceleration. The hands work close to the body and accelerate through impact generating a 97.7 MPH max exit velocity and 75.9 MPH max bat speed. Defensively, he works from a traditional crouched position and transitions out efficiently, with his hands and lower half working in sync. This allows him to produce low pop times ranging from 1.82-1.90 seconds while pairing the quick exchange with advanced arm strength up to 82 MPH.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound toolsy, high-waisted corner outfield/first base prospect has room to add more power to his frame while pairing it with already above-average bat-to-ball skills to develop into a well-rounded offensive threat at the next level. Mechanically, Casey has a slightly backloaded setup with slight knee bend and quiet hands held just above shoulder-height. During load, he uses a controlled toe tap that cues the hands and hips to fire in sync, allowing the bat to work efficiently and stay on plane through the zone while the hands remain tight to the body through impact generating a 94.3 MPH max exit velocity. In the field, Casey offers versatility having enough range to slot into a corner outfield slot comfortably running a 6.91 60-yard dash and an arm up to 82 MPH from the outfield grading out as average to slightly above average. With a projectable frame, advanced bat-to-ball ability, and enough athleticism to handle a corner outfield spot, Casey offers an intriguing offensive profile with plenty of room for continued development and power at the next level. |
