From impact bats and athletic defenders to high-upside arms, this group features a variety of talented prospects who have the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. Here is a look at five uncommitted rising seniors from New York who should be on the radar as the recruiting process continues to unfold.

Shea Corona SS / RHP / Homeschool (NY), NY / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 261 / POS: 55 The 6-foot-0, 170-pound uncommitted right handed pitcher continues to showcase the potential to develop into a power arm on the mound. Mechanically, he has a deliberate and segmented sidesaddle windup with room for extension during the delivery. The arm is quick and loose in the backswing then working into an over the top release. He shows feel for a 3-pitch mix with the FB getting up into the low 90s with up to 25” of IVB, creating a true riser out of hand. The CH grades out as his best offspeed pitch sitting in the low 80s and generating up to 19.2” of HM and 1426 RPMs of spin giving it true fade working heavy armside out of the hand. The SL is also an effective pitch sitting in the high 70s to low 80s with sharp late gloveside action, generating up to 2335 RPMs of spin and -18” of HM. When he gets ahead in the count, hitters have to cover almost 40” of HM across the zone when he is at his best. With a power fastball and two quality secondary offerings that create significant movement separation, the 6-foot-0 right-hander has the arsenal and upside to develop into a legitimate impact arm at the next level.

Nicholas Santobello RHP / RHP / The Stony Brook School, NY / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 6 The 5-foot-9, 165-pound right-handed pitcher continues to solidify himself as one of the higher-floor arms in New York’s 2027 class, featuring a power-oriented three-pitch arsenal. Mechanically, he works from a controlled and repeatable delivery, pairing a compact, quick arm action in the backswing with an aggressive finish. His FB sits 91-93 MPH and topped at 94 MPH, playing with firm life through the zone and quality ride that allowed it to attack the upper portion of the strike zone, generating up to 19.7” of IVB and 2523 RPMs. His CB worked 71-74 MPH with true 11/5 shape and sharp, late depth, producing up to 2500 RPMs and -14” of HM. The SL sat 77-79 topping 80 MPH at the Leiderman Cup, with up to 2495 RPMs of spin and -14.3” of HM, giving a true 2-tiered slider with late hard sweep. Thomas Lobello RHP / OF / School of the Future High School, NY / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 11 The wiry 6-foot-3, 165-pound uncommitted right-handed pitching prospect has made significant strides over the past year, emerging as a late riser with a high ceiling on the mound and a developing arsenal that should draw plenty of attention from college programs. Mechanically, he works deliberately through a sidesaddle windup with a drop and drive delivery. His arm gets extended in the backswing and is whippy into his low ¾ release. In his outing at the Leiderman Cup, he pounded the zone and attacked hitters with a simple 2-pitch mix. The FB sat 90-92 MPH, topping 93 MPH paired with a CT/SL sitting 85-87 MPH. With a heater already reaching the low 90s and a developing breaking ball showing promise, the 6-foot-3 right-hander’s continued physical development and arsenal progression make him an intriguing follow going into a big senior year.

Coady Bailey RHP / 3B / TNXL Academy, NY / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 12 The long and wiry 6-foot-4, 170-pound uncommitted right-handed pitching prospect has a power 3-pitch mix that gives him multiple weapons to attack hitters and the potential to develop into a high-impact arm at the next level. Mechanically, he works deliberately through his sidesaddle windup while staying compact through delivery. The arm gets to about 150° in the backswing before transitioning into ¾ release. His three-pitch mix features a FB ranging 86-89 MPH topping 90 MPH with over 20” of IVB generating firm ride at the top of the zone. He has a pair of offspeed pitches with the CB sitting 75-78 MPH with up to -8” of IVB and HM generating a sharp 11/5 shape as well as a CH sitting 79-80 MPH with up to -16.3” of HM generating armside fade completing his mix. With a power fastball and two distinct offspeed offerings, the 6-foot-4 right-hander has the pitch mix and physical projection to continue developing into an intriguing arm for college programs.

Rocco Grotto OF / SS / CBA-Syracuse, NY / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 33 / POS: 3 The 5-foot-10, 175-pound uncommitted outfield prospect possesses a legitimate five-tool skill set, offering the versatility and overall athleticism to impact a college program in multiple ways on both sides of the ball. At the plate, Rocco has a slightly open and backloaded setup with quiet hands held at ear-height. During load his front foot strides inward and slightly forward squaring his front shoulder to attack the ball aggressively at impact generating a max exit velocity at 99.2 MPH and a max bat speed up to 76.8 MPH. In the field, Rocco pairs well-above-average to advanced arm strength, topping out at 89 MPH, with a 6.83-second 60-yard dash, giving him the range and athleticism to profile as a viable option in center field or an advanced defender in a corner.
