NorCal ProCase: Player Analysis

On May 30th, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the NorCal ProCase at University of Pacific in Stockton, Cal. This was an invite-only event for high school classes (2027-2028), and gave our staff an ample look at the area’s top prospects.

Today, we will we’re taking a look at scouting reports on all of the prospects from the event, as well as a top-15 overall:
TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS
1. Nico Busalacchi, Del Oro High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP Strong athlete that attacks the inside part of the ball.
Body: 5-11.4, 226.6-pounds. Athletic build with present strength.
Hit: LHH. Closed off stance with hands behind ear. Medium load with body. Level bat path, driving the ball backside with authority. 71.6 mph bat speed with 13g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 105 mph max exit velocity (100.7 avg.); 421-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 80 mph. Medium arm circle from a three-quarter slot.
Defense: Fluid footwork, working through the ball.
Athletic Testing: 7.05 runner in the 60-yard dash; 24.10-inch max vertical jump.
