Last week, we traveled down to Georgia to LakePoint Sports for the Future Games, the biggest and most prestigious uncommitted event in the country. A number of prospects from the Badger State stood out for Team Wisconsin across the entire week.

With both the initial workouts and the gameplay now in the books, we've compiled our notes. Below, we’re highlighting the top performers from the entire event, complete with our scout notes and video.

POSITION PLAYERS

CATCHERS

+ C/OF Tavin Nass (Franklin) physical 5-foot-11, 200-pound frame. Athletic right-handed hitter who has been one of the biggest winners leading up to the Future Games across multiple looks on the summer circuit. Took the loudest round of batting practice on the day, showing easy strength to all fields with present impact off the barrel. Defensively, showed steady actions while flashing impact catch-and-throw traits behind the plate. Went 2-for-6 at the plate during gameplay while driving the baseball with authority to all fields and looking the part of a potential middle of the order bat and one that can stick behind the dish defensively.

+ C Braedon Paczocha (Mukwonago) strong 5-foot-10, 177-pound frame with room for additional physical development. Right-handed hitting catcher who continues to establish himself as one of the premier backstops in Wisconsin's 2028 class. Shows a strong, repeatable swing with advanced feel for the barrel, consistently taking some of the best at-bats in the class. Works on the barrel throughout batting practice with feel to lift the baseball in the air. Defensively, remains an advanced catch-and-throw defender behind the plate with actions and athleticism that project well moving forward. Was also a standout during gameplay, going 3-for-7 while looking the part behind the plate flashing advanced actions to pair with a budding catch and throw skillset.

+ C Toay Ragatz (Lancaster) physical 6-foot-0, 210-pound frame with strength throughout. Right-handed hitting catcher who took one of the loudest rounds of batting practice on the day, working on plane with bat speed and reaching a 100.9 mph peak exit velocity. Showed present strength with the ability to drive the baseball with authority. Defensively, looked the part of a catcher that can stick behind the plate long term, flashing above-average catch-and-throw traits with a high defensive ceiling. One of the top catching prospects to follow in Wisconsin's 2028 class. Collected a pair of hits on the weekend while working on the barrel throughout the weekend, consistent “A” swings with loud contact and exits to pair while looking the part behind the plate defensively.

+ C Thomas Check (La Crosse Logan) strong 5-foot-11, 187-pound frame with strength throughout. Left-handed hitting catcher who showed feel to lift the baseball through the middle of the field throughout his batting practice round, producing consistent carry off the barrel while reaching a peak exit velocity of 94.5 mph. Defensively, flashed advanced catch-and-throw traits with standout arm strength, recording an 83 mph catcher velocity and pop times ranging from 1.86-2.05 seconds. One of the top defenders in the state defensively with a keen eye and flashed the ability to work on the barrel during his at-bats.

INFIELDERS

+ SS/ATH Cash Olsen (Tomahawk) physical, athletic 6-foot-1, 188-pound frame. One of the bigger arrow-up prospects in Wisconsin heading into the event. Turned in a loud batting practice round, averaging 94.4 mph and reaching a 99.7 mph max exit velocity while showing advanced bat speed and feel to drive the baseball through the middle of the field. Defensively, looked the part of a reliable next-level infielder with the actions, athleticism, and arm strength to provide impact on either spot along the left side of the diamond. Was a standout during gameplay, going 2-for-5 with multiple 100+ mph exit velos, and getting to it rather easily. Looked that part defensively at a number of spots including both SS/3B, showing real actions that can stick on the infield at the next level.

+ INF/OF Kallen Magli (Sun Prairie West) athletic 5-foot-8, 161-pound frame with room for additional physical development. Right-handed hitter who worked primarily to the pull side during his batting practice round, showing present strength and feel for the barrel while reaching a peak exit velocity of 94.4 mph. Defensively, is a versatile defender with steady actions and the athleticism to handle multiple positions across both the infield and outfield. Was a standout performer on the event, consistently taking high-end at-bats while swinging an accurate barrel throughout gameplay. Defensively looking the part at a number of positions across the diamond.

+ INF/OF Cole Pettijohn (East Troy) physical 6-foot-0, 190-pound frame with lean strength throughout. One of the top athletes at the event, turning in a 6.71 runner and 35.5-inch vertical jump. Took one of the louder rounds of right-handed batting practice, averaging 91.3 mph and reaching a 99.5 mph peak exit velocity while showing feel to lift the baseball in the air. Defensively, showed steady actions at third base with clean feet and enough range and athleticism to handle multiple spots across the infield. Showed a variety of tools throughout event, including gameplay where the right-handed bat speed/strength continued to stand out on top of looking the part at a number of positions defensively showing off a real arm tool from multiple spots on the diamond.

+ MIF Eli Hart (Bay Port) athletic 6-foot-0, 181-pound frame with room for additional physical development. Quality athlete with a 6.86 runner. Right-handed hitter who showed feel to elevate the baseball to the pull side, reaching a 97.2 mph max exit velocity during batting practice. Defensively, looked the part of a future next-level middle infielder with athletic actions, fluid movements, and the ability to stay up the middle. Took some of the best at-bats across the event, clear IQ and knowledge while leading the team in hits with four during gameplay including multiple extra-base hits. Defensively looked the part with natural feet and hands for the middle infield with a clean arm action and developing arm strength.

+ MIF Maddex Welzien (West Bend West) projectable 6-foot-0, 174-pound frame with athleticism. Right-handed hitting middle infielder who consistently worked on the barrel throughout his batting practice round, showing a repeatable operation while averaging an 88.8 mph exit velocity and reaching a 94.7 mph max exit velocity. Defensively, showed the actions and athleticism of a future middle infielder, recording an 84 mph infield velocity. Continued to look the part of a high-end defender in the middle infield while putting the bat on the ball at a high-rate, rarely coming up empty on swings at the plate flashing advanced bat-to-ball traits.

+ INF/OF Max Egan (Whitefish Bay) physical 6-foot-1, 187-pound frame with strength throughout and room for additional physical development. Right-handed hitter with an easy, clean, and balanced swing, showing advanced feel to elevate the baseball with present impact off the barrel. Reached a 96.5 mph max exit velocity while averaging 85.9 mph during batting practice. Clean right-handed swing with budding strength that took a number of quality at-bats throughout the event while playing a number of spots defensively on the field.

+ CIF Benjamin Smet-Cooper (Westosha Central) physical 6-foot-0, 209-pound frame with strength throughout. Left-handed hitter who worked the middle of the field during batting practice, showing advanced bat speed with feel to elevate the baseball and create carry off the barrel. The strength and offensive upside stand out with a swing built to produce impact. Defensively, looked the part of a steady defender at either corner infield spot with reliable actions. Has some of the top left-handed bat strength in the state’s class to pair with advanced bat speed that works to all fields. Defensively the corner infielder looked the part at both corner spots throughout the event.

OUTFIELDERS/TWO-WAYS

+ CF Camden Jeske (Oak Creek) projectable 6-foot-0, 165-pound frame with lean strength and plenty of room for additional physical development. Left-handed hitter with a clean, repeatable swing who stayed on the barrel throughout batting practice, averaging 86.9 mph and reaching a 95.8 mph peak exit velocity while working on plane with feel to drive the baseball in the air. Defensively, looked the part of a high-end center fielder with athletic actions and range in the outfield, recording an 83 mph outfield velocity. Consistently took a number of high-end at-bats on the weekend continuing to show as a high-end center field with plenty of range to patrol the outfield at a high-rate.

+ OF Ian McClure (Reedsburg Area) one of the more physical prospects at the Future Games, standing at 6-foot-3, 211 pounds with strength throughout the frame. An exceptional athlete who turned in a 6.41-second 60-yard dash, one of the top running times at the event. Right-handed hitter with a strong, powerful swing that consistently produced loud contact, averaging a 92.7 mph exit velocity while reaching a 99.7 mph max exit velocity. The tools continue to stand out during gameplay, picking up a pair of hits throughout the event while looking the part in all three outfield spots.

+ LHP/OF Malachi Schoonover (Janesville Craig) athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with present strength. Quality athlete and a 6.95 runner. Left-handed hitter with a strong, quick swing and advanced bat speed, producing consistent impact throughout batting practice. Averaged an 87.8 mph exit velocity while reaching a 97.2 mph max exit velocity. On the mound, worked with an athletic delivery that creates deception at release, running the fastball up to 86 mph (82-86) with carry through the zone. Mixed in a 68-72 mph curveball with 1/7 shape and flashed a 73-74 mph changeup.

PITCHERS

+ RHP Carter Unger (Kewaskum) projectable 6-foot-4, 184-pound frame with lean levers and plenty of room for additional physical development. The ceiling stands out both physically and on the mound, showing feel for three quality pitches from a low ¾ slot with the ability to both spin and kill spin. The fastball sat 88-90 mph, topping at 91, while averaging 2,372 rpm. His secondaries flashed legitimate swing-and-miss upside with more than 35 inches of horizontal movement separating the breaking ball and changeup. The breaking ball worked at 75-79 mph with sharp two-plane break and averaged 2,422 rpm, while the 83-84 mph changeup showed heavy fade with an average of 21.2 inches of run.

+ RHP Tyson Resch (Menomonee Falls) strong 5-foot-11, 227-pound frame. Low-slot right-hander with plenty of funk and energy on the mound, showing a deep four-pitch mix across two outings. The fastball worked at 86-89 mph with life through the zone and flashed carry, pairing well with an 86-88 mph sinker that featured heavy running action. Mixed in a tight 77-78 mph slider that averaged 2,467 rpm, while also showing feel to kill spin on an 80-81 mph changeup with late fading action. A unique look on the mound with a pitch mix capable of generating uncomfortable at-bats.

+ RHP Nicky Vitucci (Whitefish Bay) projectable and athletic 6-foot-2, 168-pound frame with room for additional physical development. Was a standout arm across two innings, flashing a three-pitch mix with feel for each offering. The fastball sat 83-86 mph with running action, pairing well with a fading 73-75 mph changeup that showed the ability to kill spin. Also flashed a low-70s bullet slider with tight action as another offering in his arsenal.

+ RHP Maxwell Webb (Port Washington) projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with room for additional physical development. Starter profile with feel to both spin and kill spin across a four-pitch mix. The fastball worked at 84-87 mph, pairing with a 72-74 mph curveball with 11/5 action and a 74-78 mph slider with sweeping movement. Also showed an advanced feel for the changeup at 77-78 mph.

+ LHP Colton Meier (Wisconsin Lutheran) projectable 6-foot-4, 172-pound frame with long levers and plenty of room for additional physical development. Left-handed starter profile with a repeatable delivery, creating nearly seven feet of extension and an uncomfortable look from a unique release point. There’s more to come on a fastball that sat 81-84 mph with life and finish through the zone, pairing with a 70-73 mph breaking ball that flashed two-plane action. Also showed a 73 mph changeup as another offering in his mix.

+ RHP Ben Schultz (Milton) projectable 6-foot-5, 188-pound frame with plenty of room for additional physical development. Right-handed pitcher with an easy, simple delivery and present arm speed. The fastball sat 82-86 mph, topping at 88, with more velocity potential remaining as he continues to add strength. The fastball showed life through the zone with an average of 21 inches of carry. Spun a firm 73-77 mph breaking ball in the zone while also flashing an upper-70s changeup.

+ RHP Carson Rose (Wautoma) strong 6-foot-0, 177-pound frame with strength throughout. One of the top pitchability right-handers in Wisconsin's 2028 class, showing advanced feel for sequencing and attacking the strike zone. Fastball worked at 83-86 mph with carry through the zone, flashing both ride and run. Mixed a 70-72 mph curveball with 11/5 shape, a 70-73 mph slider with tight sweep, and flashed a promising 79-81 mph splitter.

+ RHP Carter Hoeffler (Muskego) lean, projectable 6-foot-0, 154-pound frame with strength and plenty of room for additional physical development. Athletic mover on the mound with extension down the slope, showing feel to repeat an athletic delivery with a quick arm that projects for more velocity as he continues to fill out. Fastball worked at 83-86 mph with carry through the zone, averaging 18.5 inches of induced vertical break and 2,344 RPM. Complemented it with a 71-75 mph slider that showed sweeping action and averaged 2,532 RPM, while also flashing a fading 79-81 mph changeup.

+ LHP Kinley Bilke (Menasha) Strong 5-foot-11, 174-pound frame with athleticism. A developing left-hander with one of the higher ceilings in Wisconsin's 2028 class, showing an athletic operation and quality arm speed. Fastball sat 85-88 mph, flashing both cut and ride through the zone at times. Mixed in a two-plane slider that reached 72 mph and a 70 mph changeup. 

+ RHP Connor Paulsrud (Waukesha West) strong 6-foot-0, 196-pound frame with present strength. Raw on the mound, but the traits stand out with athletic arm speed and projection remaining. Fastball sat 82-85 mph, averaging 2,218 RPM while flashing both ride and run traits, with more velocity likely to come as the delivery continues to improve. Mixed in a 73-76 mph slider that averaged 2,398 RPM with tight sweeping action, while flashing a 77-79 mph changeup with fading action.

+ RHP Clay Maxam (West De Pere) lean, athletic 6-foot-0, 160-pound frame with strength and plenty of room for additional physical development. An upside arm with feel to repeat a low ¾-slot delivery, creating life and angle throughout the arsenal. Fastball sat 84-86 mph with life out of the hand, while also showing a sinker at 83-86 mph with heavy sink and run. Mixed in a 71-76 mph curveball with 10/4 shape and a 72-77 mph slider that flashed both two-plane action and sweep.
