2026 Future Games: Day 4 Recap

LAKEPOINT, GA – Friday proved to be a successful day for Alabama's representatives at LakePoint Sports, as Team Alabama picked up wins at both the Junior Future Games and Future Games. The 2030 group opened gameplay with a 7-4 victory over Connecticut before the Bama Boys bounced back in a big way with an 8-2 win over Florida at the Future Games. Weather eventually moved into the area later in the evening, postponing the remainder of Friday's schedule and forcing changes to the weekend slate.

Junior Future Games

Team Alabama opened gameplay at the 2026 Junior Future Games with a 7-4 victory over Connecticut on Friday morning, receiving contributions throughout the lineup before a strong relief effort helped close the door late.

INF Kendan Thomas provided a spark offensively with a pair of hits, including a triple into the right-center field gap and a single. C Dylan Harcrow delivered a two-run single, while OF/RHP Kobe Embry came through with one of the biggest swings of the game, driving in three runs on a hard-hit single to left field.

RHP Kason Bentley stepped up in a major way out of the bullpen and finished the game for Team Alabama. The right-hander logged three innings, allowing just one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three. Bentley consistently operated at 80-82 mph with the fastball and seemed to get stronger as the outing progressed, helping secure Alabama's first victory of the week.

Team Alabama will have Saturday off before returning to action for two games on Sunday.

Future Games

After dropping its opener on Thursday, Team Alabama responded with an impressive all-around performance Friday afternoon, defeating Florida, 8-2, in Game 2 of the 2026 Future Games.

The Bama Boys received quality contributions throughout the lineup and, most notably, a dominant collective effort from the pitching staff. Alabama's four arms combined to allow just two runs while limiting a talented Florida lineup throughout the contest.

RHP Ethan Levanda delivered the best outing of the week to this point for Team Alabama and firmly elevated his stock in front of the hundreds of college coaches surrounding Field 10. The 6-foot-3 right-hander was nearly flawless across two perfect innings, retiring all six hitters he faced while collecting a pair of strikeouts. Levanda worked comfortably at 86-88 mph before reaching 90.2 mph with the fastball and mixed in a 73-75 mph curveball to keep hitters off balance.

Levanda finished his outing with two innings, no hits, no runs, no walks, and two strikeouts, earning Player of the Game honors for his performance. Already regarded as one of the more projectable arms in Alabama's 2028 class, Friday's showing was another significant step forward and should have his stock trending upward coming out of LakePoint.

RHP Barrett McKelvey followed Levanda with another scoreless two-inning stint. The Hartselle product worked at 86-87 mph and reached 88.6 mph with his fastball while featuring a firm 80-81 mph slider. McKelvey allowed just one hit and struck out two across his two frames.

RHP Ashton Trammell continued the strong work in innings five and six, allowing just one hit over two innings. His fastball operated at 85-87 mph and reached 88.2 mph, while he mixed a 75-77 mph slider and an 80 mph changeup.

LHP/OF Brayden Entrekin put the finishing touches on the victory with an ultra-efficient final two innings. The southpaw needed just 15 pitches to record six outs, retiring all six hitters he faced without allowing a hit or a walk. Entrekin worked at 83-85 mph and topped at 85.9 mph with the fastball while mixing a 73-74 mph curveball and 76-77 mph changeup.

Alabama's offense provided plenty of support throughout the afternoon, with multiple hitters contributing to the eight-run output.

OF Bryson Hodge delivered arguably the most impressive swing of the day, staying on a pitch and driving a two-run double to the backside. The swing showcased Hodge's ability to impact the baseball to all fields and came in a key spot for the Alabama offense.

OF/LHP Brock Green added a two-run single, while INF Hudson Mitchell, INF John Pruet, and OF Hudson Oliver each collected singles. SS Harrison Milanowski continued to showcase his athleticism and speed by adding a stolen base.

The combination of timely offense and a strong performance from all four pitchers helped Team Alabama even its Future Games record at 1-1 heading into Saturday's finale.

Weather Alters Junior Future Games Schedule

The skies opened up over LakePoint later Friday evening, forcing the remainder of the night's games to be postponed.

The weather prevented Team Southeast from playing its scheduled Junior Future Games opener against Colorado. That matchup has been rescheduled for Saturday at 8:30 p.m. EST on Field 9, giving Team Southeast its first opportunity to take the field in game action. The group is also scheduled to play again on Sunday.

Team Alabama's Junior Future Games squad will not play Saturday before returning for a pair of games on Sunday.

What's Ahead

The Bama Boys return to action Saturday evening for their third and final game of the 2026 Future Games, taking on Georgia at 5:30 p.m. EST on Field 9.

RHP Michael Shadeck is scheduled to handle innings 1-2, followed by RHP Weston Todd in innings 3-4. RHP Colter Prescott will take the ball for innings 5-6 before LHP Brock Green closes out the event in innings 7-8.

Later Saturday night, Team Southeast will get its Junior Future Games gameplay underway against Colorado at 8:30 p.m. EST on Field 9.
