STANDOUT PERFORMERS
|
Christopher Cruz SS / RHP / Granite Bay High, CA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 188 / POS: 42
Cruz attended our NorCal PSAS in ‘25 as a freshman, since then he’s gained about 10lbs of muscle, and ended his sophomore season as the starting 3rd baseman for a legit Granite Bay team. Cruz has shaved down his 60 time from a 7.54 to a 7.22, with two years left of his career, he can easily get that under a 7.00. Cruz has a lot of quick twitch in his game, during the infield workout he threw it 86 mph across the infield. Cruz put on a display during the BP part of the workout, he hit multiple home runs that went to dead center and the opposite field, it was pretty impressive. If Cruz can put all of his tools together he’s got huge upside in his future, the more reps he gets at the varsity level is going to help him when it’s all said and done. Highlights: 60 YD Dash: 7.22 | Max EV: 104.9 mph | Max Distance: 427 ft | INF Velo: 86 mph | Vertical Jump: 24.3 in |

Mark Douglas RHP / 3B / Cardinal Newman High School, CA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 125 / POS: 27
Douglas is a perfect example of a guy who got his feet wet with Prep Baseball events when he was a freshman coming to just an ID. Now, Douglas just finished off his sophomore campaign as one of Cardinal Newman’s best arms on the year, where he threw 58.2 IP, 60 Ks, 18 BBs, 2.39 ERA, & a 5-4 record. Safe to say Douglas has become one of the better ‘28 arms in all of NorCal, he’s got a pitcher’s frame at 6’3 185, and there is still a lot more in the tank. Douglas is a pitcher, not a thrower, and when the velocity ticks up, he’s going to be throwing his three pitch mix with some plus stuff. Douglas’ heater works between 86-87 mph T88, his fastball produces a ton of natural ASR, almost moves like a sinker. Douglas mixed in CB, SK,and CH, he filled up the zone and earned himself a spot on the Future Games roster. Highlights: FB Velo Max: 88 mph (19.2 HM max / 10.4 IVB max) | Max EV: 99.5 mph | Max Distance: 371 ft | INF Velo: 82 mph | 60 yard dash: 7.46 |

Carter Grant LHP / 1B / Alameda High, CA / 2028Grant attended our Standord PSAS this past January as a two-way, the southpaw has got a real future on the bump. Grant stands at 6’1 195 and has a very strong build, broad shoulders with a strong lower half, when he figures out how to repeat his mechanics, sky is the limit. Grant topped out at 90 mph on the day and made some left handed hitters uncomfortable when working in his secondaries. Grant throws a CB/CH/SL mix off of his fastball, with time the heater will gain velocity and his curveball will gain more shape. A lot to like about the young lefty out of Alameda High School, excited to see him throw out in the Future Games in a couple weeks. Highlights: FB Velo Max: 89.5 mph (-11.7 HM max / 19.9 IVB max) | Vertical Jump: 23.2 in | INF Velo: 84 mph | 60 yard dash: 7.11 |

Aiden Tavares SS / 3B / Foothill High School, CA / 2028Our Prep Baseball staff was able to get eyes on Tavares as a freshman last year during the season, this year a sophomore he held his own starting at shortstop was a crucial part of Foothill High School’s offense. The kid is legit, the arm is really strong, and his instincts in the infield are above average. Tavares does an excellent job of using one hand and being able to pick his hop, his exchanges are clean and he’s got soft hands. Definitely a guy that can stay at shortstop long term. The bat is mature, Tavares’ approach is middle/opp with a lot of his power coming from his lower half. The swing is easy, though the question of can he handle velocity will come into play. The arm has potential to be a closer on the mound, there is something there considering his electric arm at shortstop. Tavares is a high follow and one of the top infielders in the country.
60 YD Dash: 6.92 | Max EV: 103.8 mph | Max Distance: 387 ft | INF Velo: 90 mph | Vertical Jump: 24.0 in |

Charlie Reyes C / 3B / Clayton Valley Charter High, CA / 2028Reyes is the starting catcher for Clayton Valley High School and led the offense hitting .423 with 33 hits, 22 RBIs, and a 1.144 OPS, also making 1st Team All-League. Reyes can flat out hit, in BP he had no problem getting his hacks off and showing he had power to the outside and middle of the field. During the defense, Reyes showed off his cannon behind the plate, throwing in 80 mph from behind the dish with a pop time between 1.96-2.03. His blocking ability combined with his ability to steal strikes and block will keep him in the game a long time. Reyes is an upcoming catcher from the Bay Area that a lot of teams will be taking note of by the end of summer. Highlights: 60 YD Dash: 7.15 | Max EV: 98.8 mph | Max Distance: 379 ft | C Velo: 80 mph | Pop TimeL 1.96-2.03 | Vertical Jump: 23.5 in |

Mason Harris 2B / SS / Whitney High, CA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 54 / POS: 2
Harris plays shortstop for Whitney High School, he attended our NorCal PSAS at Stanford earlier in the year and didn’t skip a beat. Harris is a bit undersized but doesn't perform like it, he’s got the tools to play on the left side, if he’s able to hold up defensively, he will play at a high level, his bat is going to play at any level. Harris has a cannon for an arm in the infield, he threw it across at 89 mph, he’s got quick actions laterally, he does need to come and get the ball more, but he’s still young in the infield. He’s going to be just fine, Harris is a hitter, and he’s done that every time I’ve got to see him during the high school season. Harris will be in GA as one of the infielders on Team NorCal. Highlights: 60 YD Dash: 7.09 | Max EV: 103.6 mph | Max Distance: 382 ft | INF Velo: 89 mph | Vertical Jump: 21.5 in |
|
Ryan Miller 1B / OF / Granite Bay High, CA / 2028Miller plays 1B and OF for a young and talented Granite Bay team, he also hopped on the mound this year too for them. Miller kind of does it all, but his bat is where he can make his money. Everytime I’ve seen Miller, whether that was at an event or in a game, he always seemed to piece up the ball and get multiple hits, and this was on multiple occasions. It’s plus bat to ball skills, with a mixture of untapped power, which will come when he starts learning how to use the pull side. Defensively, Miller can play 1B or outfield, he’s got enough speed and arm strength to do both. Miller will be attending the Future Games in GA this summer with Team NorCal. Highlights: 60 YD Dash: 6.89 | Max EV: 101.0 mph | Max Distance: 380 ft | OF Velo: 83 mph | FB Velo: 84.6 | Vertical Jump: 25.9 in |
