Houston Summer ID: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 2nd, the PB Texas staff traveled to Rice University in Houston, TX, to host the Houston Summer ID, an open event for all high school classes.
More than 40 players made their way to Rice and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.
We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the prospects who stood out throughout the event.

Harrison Coneway | RHP | Panther Creek | 2028 | 6'2" 165
Coneway is an up and coming RHP with a projectable 6'2", 165 pound frame and more velocity in the tank. Works from a repeatable delivery with a quick arm, running the fastball 80 to 82 mph. The slider sits 71 to 73 mph and shows real sweep with around 23 inches of horizontal movement, while the changeup works at 77 to 78 mph. Projectable strike thrower with a three pitch foundation that should continue to trend up as he adds strength.
Bryce Haydock | RHP/OF | Lutheran South | 2028 | 5'10" 160
Haydock is a projectable two way athlete with twitch and real athleticism, posting a 6.44 sixty. On the mound, the fastball sat 83 to 84 mph with late life, while the breaking ball showed good rotation and feel for the zone. The changeup worked at 78 mph, giving him a usable third pitch with more development ahead. At the plate, shows strength and quickness in the bat with gap to gap pop and the athletic tools to keep trending up.
Cayden Deason | RHP/SS | Lutheran South | 2028 | 5'10" 140
Deason is a projectable two way player with a lean 5'10", 140 pound frame and a clean arm path. On the mound, the fastball works 78 to 81 mph with around 22 inches of induced vertical break, giving it carry through the zone. The curveball shows real promise with solid movement and around minus 20 inches of horizontal movement. Young follow with pitchability, feel for spin, and velocity that should continue to climb as he matures and adds strength.
Joshua Majalap-Wilson | OF/RHP | Katy | 2028 | 5'6" 145
Majalap-Wilson is an athletic two way prospect with speed and twitch, posting a 6.69 sixty. In the OF, shows quick feet, plays through the ball well, and has a solid arm up to 88 mph. At the plate, the quick bat stands out with present strength, producing exit velocities up to 96 mph. Solid follow with athleticism, arm strength, and offensive upside that should continue to improve as he adds strength.
Kaeson Clayton | SS/RHP | Kilgore | 2027 | 5'11" 175
Clayton is a projectable two way athlete with strength, speed, and twitch, posting a 6.83 sixty. On the dirt, shows good actions with a quick release and the athleticism to stay on the left side. At the plate, the quick hands and barrel stand out, producing exit velocities up to 98 mph with impact potential. On the mound, the fastball sat 85 to 86 mph from a loose arm with more in the tank, while the breaking ball showed solid movement with -19 HM.
Brayden Lyszaz | SS/RHP | John Cooper | 2029
Loose, athletic mover with future plus runner traits after posting a 7.05 sixty. On the dirt, shows a compact arm path with plenty of arm strength across the diamond, while the glove action and footwork are both present. At the plate, stays inside the ball well with an up the middle approach and showed impact off the barrel with exit velocities up to 95 to 96 mph. On the mound, the fastball worked 80 to 81 mph with around 21 IVB, while the breaking ball showed developing movement and feel to build on.
Jaden Davis | SS | Tyler Legacy | 2027 | 6'3" 175
Long, rangy SS with a projectable 6'3", 175 pound frame and athleticism that plays on the dirt. Shows quick feet, a solid arm across the diamond up to 86 mph, and the ability to throw from different angles. At the plate, the swing is balanced with quick hands and the ability to generate bat speed. High upside follow with defensive range, present arm strength, and offensive tools that should continue to trend up.
Brock Havens | OF | Clear Falls | 2027 | 6'2" 175
Physical OF profile with a projectable 6'2", 175 pound frame, present strength, and room to keep adding more. Shows the ability to generate bat speed with impact off the barrel, producing exit velocities up to 98 mph. Ran a 7.01 sixty and shows nice actions in the OF with the ability to move through the baseball. Solid follow with strength driven offensive upside, athleticism, and a chance to impact the game on both sides.
Jackson Seel | OF | Stratford | 2028 | 5'11" 179
Athletic OF with a strong 5'11", 179 pound frame and a 6.83 sixty that shows well. Defensively, the feet work, he shows range, and the arm strength is present up to 89 mph from the OF. At the plate, shows a solid offensive profile with the ability to impact the baseball, producing exit velocities in the 94 to 96 mph range. Projects well as an athletic outfielder with arm strength, bat strength, and room for more offensive impact.
Ethan Dodd | SS | Barbers Hill | 2029 | 6'1" 190
Strong offensive profile with a physical 6'1", 190 pound frame and real impact at the plate, producing exit velocities up to 98 mph. Shows a projectable bat with a chance to hit at the next level as the approach continues to develop. On the dirt, displays playable actions with a solid arm up to 82 mph across the diamond. Young corner/middle infield follow with strength driven offensive upside and defensive actions that should continue progress.
Grant Larson | INF | Seven Lakes | 2028 | 6'2" 190
Physical, athletic INF with a strong 6'2", 190 pound frame and loud offensive tools. Shows big pop at the plate with present bat speed and impact off the barrel, producing exit velocities up to 103 mph. Ran a 6.72 sixty and moves well for the frame, showing quick feet and hands on the dirt with 85 mph arm strength across the diamond. High upside follow with power, athleticism, and defensive actions that give him a chance to impact the game in multiple ways.
Taylor Anthony | C | St. John’s | 2029 | 5'10" 195
Physical young catcher with present strength and a solid foundation behind the plate. Shows soft hands, receives well, and posted 2.11 to 2.18 pop times with a solid arm for the age group and carry to the ball. At the plate, shows a balanced right handed swing with some pull side pop and exit velocities up to 94 mph. Solid follow with catch and throw ability, offensive strength, and room to keep shortening the swing for more consistent barrel accuracy.
David Doran | OF | Summer Creek | 2027 | 6'4" 205
Physical corner OF type with a strong 6'4", 205 pound frame and present strength. Shows a solid arm in OF play with throws up to 88 mph, while the feet work well enough to move through the baseball. At the plate, shows pop with the ability to impact the baseball, producing exit velocities up to 99 mph. Power profile follow with corner OF traits, arm strength, and offensive impact potential.
Colson Istre | 1B/LHP | Woodlands Christian | 6'3" 225
Physical 1B/LHP with a strong 6'3", 225 pound frame who moves well for the size, posting a 7.12 sixty. Around the bag at 1B, shows quick feet, a quick release on the double play turn, and accuracy on throws. At the plate, the left handed bat shows real power with pop to all fields and exit velocities up to 104 mph. Best when he stays short and quick, giving him a loud offensive profile with impact potential.
