Utah's Senior Future Games Recap: Class of 2027

EMERSON, GA – Seven of Utah’s top uncommitted 2027 prospects made the trip to LakePoint Sports on July 21–22 to represent Team Four Corners at the 2026 Prep Baseball Senior Future Games. Competing in front of more than 495 college coaches and scouts, Utah’s representatives showcased their abilities during the pro-style workout and game action at one of the country’s premier recruiting events. Below, we take a deeper look at each player’s performance, the tools that stood out and the areas they can continue to develop.

Karson Fankhauser RHP / 1B / Mountain Ridge, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 28 / POS: 7
Karson set the tone for Team 4 Corners with the Game 1 start at LakePoint, demonstrating a calm, professional approach that didn't flinch on the national stage. Built with a physical, muscular frame, the Mountain Ridge product filled up the strike zone with an upper-80s fastball that touched 91 mph and held consistent velocity throughout his outing. Fankhauser uses a deceptive delivery that hides the baseball well, making his entire three-pitch mix difficult for hitters to barrel. He displayed advanced pitchability by showing complete confidence in his offspeed, willing to throw all in any count. His composure, deceptive slot, and strike-throwing reliability make him a standout 2027 right-hander to watch, and one of the top uncommitted arms in the class. Maddux Jensen SS / RHP / Ridgeline, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 30 / POS: 5
Maddux provides an uncomfortable look for hitters with a tall, lean 6’2”, 175-pound athletic frame and a deceptive three-quarters release slot. The Ridgeline product hides the baseball remarkably long, giving hitters fits and forcing uncomfortable swings since virtually nothing he throws comes in straight. His FB features elite horizontal life—averaging 16.5 inches of arm-side run and peaking at an eye-popping 20.1 inches—which tunnels seamlessly alongside a fading changeup. Jensen rounds out his pitch mix with a sweeper that exhibits heavy depth to expand the zone and miss barrels. Running his fastball up to 89 mph at Utah TPG a week prior, Jensen carries substantial momentum and velocity projection into his upcoming senior campaign. Crew Anderson RHP / 3B / Pleasant Grove, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 11
Crew boasts a sturdy 6’2”, 205-pound frame with a strong lower half that allows him to generate quality rotational power from the ground up. The Pleasant Grove right-hander works through clean, repeatable mechanics that make him a highly reliable option on the mound, showing great poise and strike-throwing ability when pitching with runners on base. He spins the baseball exceptionally well; his FB features up to 18.9 inches of IVB, creating riding life that tunnels cleanly with a heavy CV showing -14.3 inches of HM. That pitch pairing flashes real swing-and-miss potential to put hitters away late in counts, giving Anderson an impactful combination of physical strength, pitch design, and high-leverage composure in Utah's 2027 class, one of the top uncommitted arms in the class coming off a strong Junior campaign. Coming off a dominant 2A POTY campaign in which he launched 10 HR, Kanon proved his game translates seamlessly to the national stage at LakePoint. Built with a physical 6’0”, 185-pound frame, the Kanab backstop has made tremendous strides over the past year. In the box, Virostko displays legitimate pull-side power with effortless strength, maintaining a flat barrel through the zone for an extended period to maximize barrel consistency. Defensively, he handled top-tier pitching with composure, controlling the pace behind the plate, framing the low pitch consistently well, and showing a willingness to block. Combined with a quick catch-and-throw tool and zero signs of nerves on the big stage, the small-town Utah product put together a standout all-around week. One of the top catchers in the class. Ali Carrillo Jr. SS / 3B / Copper Hills, UT / 2027Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 8
Ali put together a complete performance at LakePoint, displaying the skill set and pure passion that make him an infectious presence on the diamond. A smooth, clean defender up the middle, the Copper Hills product features the hands and quick feet necessary to lock down the left side of the infield at the next level, pairing those actions with steady arm strength improvements that carry throws cleanly across the field. Offensively, Carrillo works from a fluid RH swing, operating as a true gap-to-gap hitter who possesses legitimate pull-side HR power. He put together quality at-bats across all three games at the Future Games, highlighted by a no-doubt HR in Game 1. Jack brings a strong, athletic, compact 5'11", 175 lb frame with obvious present strength to the diamond for Wasatch. In the box, Salmon takes a very direct path to contact that allows him to consistently hammer baseballs on a line through the middle of the field, repeatedly living above 99 mph during BP while frequently flashing lower 100s. Beyond the loud EV numbers, he is an extremely hard worker who displays noticeable gains every time our staff checks in on him. His defensive skill set has taken a clear step forward, featuring cleaner hands, quicker feet, and far more agility on the infield dirt than a year ago. Driven by a fierce competitive drive and a relentless desire to play high-level ball, Salmon continues to elevate his recruiting profile in Utah's 2027 class. Abe offers a uniquely athletic profile behind the dish, combining physical strength with elite mobility for the position. Built with a physical 6'0", 180 lb frame, the Skyline backstop showcases plus speed on the basepaths that projects well as a leadoff hitter profile. Offensively, Wilson utilizes an inside-out swing from the right side, prioritizing a high-contact, line-drive approach with strong barrel awareness while flashing sneaky pop. Defensively, he is a reliable receiver and blocker who pairs a sharp catch-and-throw skill set with 80 mph arm strength from behind the plate, posting a strong 1.89 best pop time at LakePoint. His rare blend of catching polish, running ability, and barrel consistency makes him a high-follow 2027 prospect and of the top catchers in the class.
