Team Maryland began their three-game set vs. Team Virginia on Thursday afternoon. This matchup, historically, has been very competitive, and nothing was different this year. Team Virginia got out to an early 6-0 lead after 5 innings before Team Maryland stormed back with a 5-spot in the bottom of the 6th, highlighted by a two RBI single off the bat of Mason Glover and a two-run homerun off the bat of J.A. Stephens. Team Virginia would scratch across 1 in the 7th and 3 more in the 8th to take a 10-5 lead. Team Maryland would score 2 in the bottom of the 8th, highlighted by a RBI double off the bat of Maddox Butts; however, the comeback would fall short, as Team Virginia would get the best of the Old Line State, 10-7.
