2026 Prep Baseball Wisconsin Third Team, All-State + Honorable Mentions

By Andy Sroka
National Managing Editor, Scouting

Over the past week, we published our 2026 Prep Baseball Wisconsin First Team, All-State and Second Team rosters, featuring 19 and 18 of the best players from this past WIAA season, respectively. Today, we’re ready to conclude our 2026 WIAA season coverage by publishing our Third Team, All-State roster. Beneath our Third Team selections, we list out each of the players who were nominated for our all-state teams under the “Honorable Mentions” section.

You can find our 2022-2025 all-state honorees listed on this page, if you’re interested.

Now, here are the 19 players who have earned a place on the 2026 Third Team, All-State roster, as well as this year’s Honorable Mentions.

CATCHERS

Jack Brenner C / Fond du Lac, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG HR RBI R SB K
.419 .504 .817 6 30 40 17 4

A nationally-ranked prospect with legitimate MLB Draft hopes this weekend, Brenner is a high-end athlete whose tools could allow him to catch at the next level or even profile in the outfield. There’s obvious bat speed and twitch in his right-handed swing, and it produced 17 extra-base hits, a 1.322 OPS, and 17 steals as a senior, all while striking out just four times. The Oklahoma commit was named the Fox Valley Association Player of the Year and earned all-conference honors three times in his prep career. Ranked as the top catcher in the state’s senior class, Brenner is one of the more exciting pound-for-pound athletes on any of our all-state lists.

Isaiah Ahlberg C / Northwood/Solon Springs, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG HR RBI R SB K
.511 .672 1.067 5 27 28 22 9

A small-school standout who has caught our eye every time we’ve seen him, including at last year’s Wisconsin State Games, where he homered and looked like one of the top backstops in attendance, Ahlberg followed it up with an all-time senior season at Northwood/Solon Springs. Despite playing just 17 games, he collected 13 extra-base hits (5 HR), drove in 27 runs, scored 28, and stole 22 bases while reaching base at a .672 clip. He’s an exceptional defender, too. He threw out 26 would-be base-stealers across his four varsity seasons, eventually scaring opposing runners off entirely. The Minnesota-Duluth commit is one of the more complete backstops in the state.

INFIELDERS

Caleb Liggon SS / Madison Memorial, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B HR RBI R SB
.330 .440 .577 5 5 28 34 9

Liggon was a key reason Madison Memorial stayed afloat while navigating some early-season injuries, and once his brother Ezra returned to the lineup, the two formed one of the most dangerous run-scoring tandems in the state down the stretch. Caleb drove in 28 runs and scored 34 himself while providing steady production in the middle of the order. He leaves the program as its all-time leader in doubles, home runs, and RBIs, a fitting way to wrap up a terrific prep career at VPM as D1 state runners-up. We're excited to see him compete over the Illinois border for Bradley University at his next stop.

Winston Alonso 3B / SS / Reedsburg Area, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG OPS H 2B HR BB
.438 .559 .712 1.271 32 9 3 17

Alonso spent four years at Reedsburg performing like one of the best left-handed hitters in Wisconsin, and his senior spring was more of the same. He finished with a 1.271 OPS, spraying line drives from a flawless left-handed swing and controlling the strike zone the way he has since he first arrived on varsity. That steady, high-level production earned him the Badger-Small Conference Player of the Year award and a return trip to our all-state list. The Madison JC commit will be in a familiar environment after his older brother, Edison, thrived at the same local JUCO in 2024 and 2025.

Carter Gordon 1B / Germantown, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG 2B HR RBI R BB
.436 .556 .776 14 5 41 31 16

Even in a 1B/DH-type role, Gordon warrants a spot on this list for anchoring a Germantown team that finished 27-1 as its most productive hitter. The massive right-handed slugger racked up 19 extra-base hits, including 14 doubles, and drove in 41 runs, setting program records for career doubles and career RBIs along the way. He’s also regarded as one of the best uncommitted pitchers in the state, and though an injury kept him off the mound this spring, we’re hopeful he’ll be back anchoring the Warhawks’ staff in 2027.

Isaac Teisl SS / Mukwonago, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B RBI R SB K
.443 .581 .684 8 33 24 12 7

In our staff's eyes, Teisl is one of the most underrated prospects in Wisconsin, and he’s a name we’re set to bump up in our final 2026 rankings update coming soon. The 6-foot-3 Mukwonago shortstop is a smooth defender whose left-handed swing has taken off over the past year, and it showed in a 1.264 OPS, 33 RBIs, and 12 steals this spring. He posted an above-average contact rate against a Classic 8 schedule that served up a competitive arm nearly every game, the kind of profile that tends to explode at the next level. The UW-Parkside recruit is in good hands and trending up at the right time as he embarks on his college career.

Calvin Roth SS / Stevens Point Area, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG OPS H 2B RBI K
.538 .617 .791 1.408 49 10 33 3

Roth was the driving force behind a 24-win SPASH squad, and he earned Wisconsin Valley Player of the Year honors as a result. He piled up 49 hits in 29 games, with 15 of them going for extra bases, and he did it while striking out only three times all season. That blend of elite contact, on-base ability, and gap production made him one of the toughest outs in central Wisconsin. The Concordia (MN) commit is a polished, disciplined hitter with an impressive toolset as an above-average runner with bat speed and raw right-handed bat strength.

OUTFIELDERS

Carter Fry OF / Wisconsin Lutheran, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG 2B 3B RBI R SB
.467 .554 .698 8 6 21 39 27

As one of the top uncommitted talents in the state, and one of the fastest players in the Midwest, Fry set Wisconsin Lutheran’s single-season hits record (42) while scoring 39 runs, striking out just eight times, and swiping 27 bases. He patrolled center field, where his elite speed fits best, and he makes harder contact than you might expect from a burner, with six triples underscoring his ability to turn doubles into three bases. A true up-the-middle weapon, Fry is one of the best 2027s in Wisconsin and he hasn't cooled off at all in the transition from spring ball to summer ball.

Carson Hawley OF / RHP / Bay Port, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B 3B HR RBI R
.408 .495 .750 8 3 4 23 21

Hawley was central to Bay Port’s terrific 24-4 season, doing damage at the plate while also pitching some important innings. At the plate, he collected 15 extra-base hits, including four homers. One of those home runs helped the Pirates edge West De Pere in a dramatic sectional semifinal as well. On the mound, he was also crtically important, striking out 53 batters in 26.1 innings with a 2.92 ERA. The Winona State commit’s athleticism, center field defense, power, and two-way ability made him a difference-maker for one of the best teams in the state.

Dominick Walters OF / Franklin, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 3B HR RBI R SB
.434 .546 .831 7 4 38 41 11

Walters put together a record-setting season for a decorated Franklin program, setting the Sabers’ spring single-season records for home runs, runs, and RBIs while helping the club to a 26-3 campaign. The dynamic athlete hit .434 with 15 extra-base hits, seven of them triples, and stuffed the stat sheet across the board, piling up multi-hit games all spring. A two-time All-Southeast Conference outfielder, Walters is also an all-state football player, and that two-sport explosiveness shows up in everything he does on the diamond.

Tyler Smeiska OF / C / Mukwonago, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG HR RBI R BB SB
.444 .595 .679 3 17 38 25 20

Another one of the most explosive athletes in the state, Smeiska is a tooled-up '27 with twitch, some pop, and positional versatility. He’s capable behind the plate but spent most of this spring in center field for Mukwonago, where he hit .444 with a 1.274 OPS, reached base at a .595 clip, and stole 20 bases. He flashed his ceiling with a three-homer game against Oak Creek, but he was plenty productive outside of that single-game output too. Smeiska has a ton of likable traits and should be considered one of the top uncommitted incoming seniors in the state.

PITCHERS

Landon Lassahn RHP / Verona Area, WI / 2026

IP W-L H K ERA WHIP
55.0 9-0 36 71 1.91 1.15

It was a special spring for Verona, and Lassahn was hugely responsible for the Wildcats’ run as the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year. He went a perfect 9-0 across 55 innings with a 1.91 ERA and an impressive 1.15 WHIP, striking out 71 while squaring off against several of the best lineups in the state on a regular basis. The Rock Valley JC commit competed at the top of one of Wisconsin’s toughest conferences and pitched like the kind of proven workhorse that college staffs chase.

Parker Lawson RHP / Bay Port, WI / 2026

IP W-L H K ERA WHIP
63.1 8-1 51 78 1.00 1.09

One of the most heavily leaned-on pitchers in Division 1, Lawson helped carry Bay Port to yet another strong season, even if it ended just short of the WIAA state tournament. He logged a workhorse 63.1 innings with a 1.00 ERA, a WHIP right around 1.00 too, and 78 strikeouts. His best outing of the spring was headlined by a one-hit, 14-strikeout complete-game shutout of Pulaski. A four-year varsity starter and the FRCC Player of the Year, Lawson never missed a start across his entire prep career, a testament to the durability and reliability that make him such a valuable arm. He’s staying close to home next fal, headed to UW-Oshkosh.

Bryce Loker RHP / Omro, WI / 2026

IP H BB K ERA WHIP
40.1 15 7 74 0.00 0.55

Loker was borderline untouchable in his senior spring at Omro. He did not allow a single earned run across 40.1 innings, surrendering just 15 hits and seven walks all season. That live arm racked up 74 strikeouts, and the lack of free passes left him with one of the lowest qualified WHIPs in the state at 0.55. The South Dakota State commit’s combination of swing-and-miss stuff and increasing control/efficiency made him one of the most dominant arms in Wisconsin this spring.

Jacob Coopman LHP / Menasha, WI / 2026

IP H BB K ERA WHIP
42.1 26 14 73 0.66 0.95

Coopman is another dominant southpaw in the state who pumps strikes and generates some of the most swing-and-miss from the left side. He struck out 73 batters in 42.1 innings while walking only 14, and he allowed just four earned runs all spring, good for a 0.66 ERA and a sub-1.00 WHIP. The Winona State commit’s command plus whiffs as a lefty gives him an enticing college profile and it made him one of the tougher at-bats in the WIAA this spring.

Carson Gates RHP / Kaukauna, WI / 2026

IP W-L H K ERA WHIP
57.0 7-1 37 67 0.74 0.91

Headed into the postseason, Gates was effectively the ace of a Kaukauna staff that also rostered two of the top-ranked left-handers in the state’s senior class. Injuries muddled the Ghosts’ rotation, but Gates was as good as you could possibly ask for in that role, and he only got better once the playoffs began. He allowed just one run on seven hits and five walks across 13.1 postseason innings, a run that included a no-hitter earlier in the year against Oshkosh West and a one-run complete-game victory over River Falls in the D1 state semifinals. The uncommitted right-hander was a huge piece of a state title team.

UTILITY

Brayden Banyai 2B / RHP / Madison Memorial, WI / 2026

AVG HR RBI R SB OPS IP W-L K ERA WHIP
.420 3 24 38 10 1.178 46.0 5-2 58 2.13 1.22

It’s impossible to watch Madison Memorial and not get energized by two-way senior leader Brayden Banyai, and seeing him compete in a WIAA state championship game was a fitting end to a career defined by pushing himself and his teammates as far as they could go. He hit .420 with a 1.178 OPS and scored a single-season program record 38 runs, then piled up 58 strikeouts across 46 innings on the mound, punctuated by a complete-game shutout and a 4-for-4 performance in the sectional final against conference rivals Verona, which actually won the Big Eight. The UW-Milwaukee recruit was the heart and soul of the D1 state runners-up, and he now sits top-five in program history in nearly every major offensive and pitching category.

Gavin Weissenburger SS / RHP / Living Word Lutheran, WI / 2026

AVG 2B HR RBI R OPS IP K ERA WHIP
.475 15 6 32 51 1.411 64.0 107 1.86 1.23

One of the state’s top two-way talents, Weissenburger did a little bit of everything for the Timberwolves this spring. At the plate, he hit .475 with a 1.411 OPS, racking up 24 extra-base hits in 28 games to go with 32 RBIs and 51 runs scored. On the mound, he was every bit as valuable, tossing 64 innings while striking out 107 batters and posting a 1.23 WHIP. That kind of dual production is exactly what makes him such an intriguing prospect, and the UW-Parkside recruit should have the chance to keep developing both skill sets in college.

Carson Roemhild SS / RHP / Boyceville, WI / 2026

AVG HR RBI R SB OPS IP K ERA WHIP
.557 9 42 46 39 1.733 55.0 85 2.93 1.66

Roemhild is one of the best players Boyceville has ever produced, which is no small statement for a program that has graduated plenty of gifted talent over the past decade especially. The uncommitted two-way standout is the school’s all-time hits leader and he set both the single-season and career stolen base records this spring. He was clutch too, swatting three homers this postseason, and over his entire career leading off for the Bulldogs, he regularly turned singles into doubles and set the table for the offense behind him if he wasn't jogging around the bases himself. On the mound, he was one of the team’s best arms, tossing a no-hitter this season as well. Roemhild is also a quality shortstop on top of it all, and he wrapped up his career as one of the most complete players in D3, if not all of the WIAA.
