Huntsville Summer/Rising Stars ID: Quick Hits

Prep Baseball Alabama Staff

MADISON, AL – The 2026 Summer ID Tour continued on Tuesday, June 9th, as Prep Baseball Alabama traveled to James Clemens High School for the Huntsville Summer ID. Featuring prospects from the 2027-2031 classes, the event brought together players from across North Alabama for a full day of evaluations in front of the Prep Baseball Alabama staff.

Attendees participated in a pro-style workout that included laser-timed 60-yard dashes using VALD Performance gates, batting practice with TrackMan technology, and defensive evaluations with arm strength metrics recorded at each position. The event served as an early summer opportunity for players to update their profiles, collect verified data, and showcase their tools heading into a busy summer schedule. In addition to collecting valuable data, players were also evaluated for some of Prep Baseball's premier national events, including the Senior Future Games (2027s), Future Games (2028s), Southeast Super Sophomore Games (2029s), and Junior Future Games (2030-2031s).

In this Quick Hits article, we spotlight several standout performers from the event, providing brief scouting notes and observations from their workouts while highlighting some of the metrics that helped separate them on Tuesday.

Montgomery Summer ID

3B/RHP Brody Vincent, Cullman (AL), 2027
Vincent was one of the most impressive two-way performers at the event and found himself near the top of multiple statistical leaderboards throughout the workout. The 6-foot-4, 202-pound prospect possesses a long, physical frame with present strength and additional room for development, creating plenty of intrigue on both sides of the ball. On the mound, Vincent worked with clean actions and an efficient delivery, sitting 84-86 mph and topping at 87.5 mph while showing natural arm-side run on the fastball. He complemented the heater with a firm 76-79 mph slider that spun up to 2415 RPM and an 80-81 mph changeup that mirrored the fastball's arm-side movement. Offensively, the right-handed hitter works from a slightly open setup with a simple load, allowing the barrel to work on an upward path through the zone and produce consistent gap-to-gap contact. He capped off a strong overall workout with a peak exit velocity of 96.2 mph.

OF/LHP Ty Hunter, Hazel Green (AL), 2028
Hunter delivered one of the most complete all-around workouts of the event while showcasing tools that translated on both sides of the ball. The 5-foot-10, 158-pound left-handed hitter continues to stand out for his advanced feel to hit, consistently finding the barrel throughout batting practice while spraying line drives to all fields. He showed the same combination of contact ability and emerging impact that flashed during the spring season, finishing with a peak exit velocity of 94.9 mph. Hunter's athleticism was equally evident elsewhere in the workout, as he ran a 6.70-second 60-yard dash and worked up to 86 mph from the outfield while displaying the instincts and body control to handle the position. On the mound, he sat 84-85 mph with his fastball and showed feel for both a curveball at 75-78 mph that spun up to 2682 RPM and a well-executed changeup at 79-80 mph. The overall skill set continues to point toward one of the more intriguing two-way profiles in Alabama's 2028 class.

INF Noah Tolleson, Scottsboro (AL), 2027
Tolleson put together one of the loudest offensive performances of the day and finished near the top of the leaderboard in one of the event's most important categories. The 5-foot-11, 201-pound infielder showcased impressive barrel strength throughout batting practice, routinely producing batted balls in the mid-90s and ultimately recording a 100.4 mph exit velocity to lead the event. The right-handed hitter works from a square base and gets into launch position with ease, allowing the barrel to work on a physical upward path through the zone. He consistently looked to drive the baseball with authority to the gaps and showed the type of impact that was difficult to ignore throughout his round. Few hitters at the event matched the combination of strength and damage he produced during batting practice.

RHP Jasper Griffin, West Limestone (AL), 2027
Griffin showcased one of the more intriguing starter profiles among the arms in attendance with a three-pitch mix and the physicality to handle a significant workload. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound right-hander possesses a mature build with present strength throughout, particularly in the lower half, and repeated his delivery well throughout the bullpen session. Working from a three-quarter slot with noticeable arm quickness, Griffin sat 84-85 mph and topped at 86.1 mph with a fastball that showed occasional sink and arm-side run through the zone. He paired it with a low-70s breaking ball that tunneled effectively off the heater while also showing feel for a 75-78 mph changeup that killed spin and mirrored the fastball's arm-side movement. The ability to command three offerings and create different shapes within the arsenal made for an impressive overall look.

C Kaden Dunham, Hazel Green (AL), 2027
Dunham continued to show the offensive impact that has become a consistent part of his profile. The 5-foot-8, 204-pound catcher possesses an ultra-physical build with considerable strength, particularly in the lower half, and that strength translates directly to the batter's box. The right-handed hitter works from a tall, slightly open stance and utilizes an efficient load to get back to square, allowing him to stay connected and control the barrel throughout the swing. When he finds the barrel, the ball comes off with noticeable authority, as evidenced by a peak exit velocity of 94.7 mph during batting practice. Defensively, Dunham also turned in a solid workout behind the plate, recording pop times between 2.00-2.06 seconds while producing a 73 mph catcher velocity. The power profile has already shown up in game action this summer and continued to stand out during this look.

C Ben Harpham, Deshler (AL), 2027
Harpham was one of the more impressive offensive performers among the catchers in attendance and backed it up with a strong defensive workout behind the plate. The 6-foot-1, 233-pound backstop possesses a physical frame with defined strength throughout and consistently found the barrel during batting practice. Hitting from a balanced, square setup, Harpham utilizes a short, efficient stride that allows him to get on time and stay under control throughout the swing. He showed the ability to handle pitches in different areas of the strike zone while using his strength effectively to produce quality impact, finishing with a 95.7 mph exit velocity that ranked among the best marks of the event. Defensively, he led all catchers with pop times ranging from 1.97-2.07 seconds and added a 72 mph catcher velocity. The combination of offensive impact and defensive performance made for one of the more complete catching workouts of the day.

C Sawyer Holden, Lauderdale County (AL), 2029
Holden turned in one of the stronger all-around performances among the 2029 prospects in attendance. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound catcher possesses a wiry, athletic frame and showcased his athleticism throughout the workout. At the plate, Holden works from an athletic setup with clean, quick actions and stays well-connected through the zone, allowing him to consistently spray firm contact from gap to gap. He produced a peak exit velocity of 94.0 mph during batting practice and also posted a 7.23-second 60-yard dash. Behind the plate, Holden recorded pop times between 2.03-2.09 seconds and worked up to 76 mph on throws to second base. The athletic foundation and polished skill set already stand out, and there appears to be plenty more in the tank as he continues to add strength and physicality to the frame.

Montgomery Rising Stars ID

SS Judson Nicholson, Etowah (AL), 2030
Nicholson put together one of the better offensive rounds among the 2030 prospects in attendance and established a strong baseline to build upon moving forward. The 5-foot-9, 135-pound infielder consistently found the barrel from the right side, producing line-drive contact back through the middle of the field throughout batting practice. He utilizes an early load and toe-tap stride for timing, helping him stay balanced and on time while keeping the barrel on a level path through the zone. The approach was simple and repeatable, allowing him to square up baseballs with regularity during his round. Nicholson finished with an 88.4 mph exit velocity, the top mark among the rising freshmen at the event.

SS Logan Hankins, James Clemens (AL), 2030
Hankins showcased a fundamentally sound skill set and established himself as one of the more polished young infielders in attendance. The left-handed hitter displayed a clean, repeatable swing throughout batting practice, consistently staying connected through the zone while showing a strong feel for the barrel. He demonstrated the ability to create leverage at contact and frequently drove the baseball back through the middle of the field with authority. Hankins maintained quality direction through the swing with consistent two-handed finishes and an approach that should continue to translate as he matures physically. He also posted an 87.6 mph exit velocity, which ranked among the better marks from the event.

3B/RHP Robert Brewer, Lawrence County (TN), 2030
Brewer stood out immediately thanks to his impressive physicality and strength for a rising freshman. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect possesses an ultra-physical frame that already looks advanced for his age and gives him a strong foundation moving forward. At the plate, Brewer works from a balanced, square setup and creates quality separation through a controlled coil in the load, allowing him to efficiently incorporate the lower half into the swing. The right-handed hitter delivers the barrel on a strong upward path and consistently looked to impact the baseball to the pull side with authority. There is controlled aggression throughout the operation, and the overall offensive foundation provides a solid baseline for continued development over the next several years.
