Brennan Stout, RHP/SS, Byron Center, 2029

Stout would emerge as a two-way winner from this past weekend, acting as a major catalyst for his Arsenal Rip City across the board. The right-handed pitcher sat 79-82 mph and topped at 83 mph in his outing, showing some carry through the zone. Killed spin on a changeup that played with straight action. The curveball is developing shape and feel with shorter break, 64-67 mph. Athletic prospect on the other side of the ball, clean right-handed swing with a simple trigger, was on the barrel some throughout the week. 

Chicago White Sox ACE 2029

Chase Boykin, SS, Marian Catholic, 2029
Currently ranked No. 9 in Illinois and No. 180 nationally, Boykin continues to show an athletic, well-rounded profile that makes him a must-know name in the class. Though there wasn’t a lot to show for it, the Marian Catholic product showed a simple, athletic right-handed swing throughout the weekend, backed by a line-drive-oriented approach. At shortstop, he showed active footwork that consistently played up thanks to his present defensive instincts. An above-average runner as well (6.69-second 60-yard dash at the Illinois Preseason All-State), Boykin should only continue to improve as he adds polish to his athletic toolset. Twitchy 5-foot-9, 161-pound frame.

Todd Dulaney Jr., MIF, Nazareth, 2029

Athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame. Consistently put together quality at-bats, drove in runs, and used advanced speed to create pressure on the defense, routinely taking the extra base and forcing mistakes on the basepaths. Defensively, showed smooth actions in the infield with quality lateral range, moving well from left to right. Displays strong baseball instincts and a mature makeup, quickly bouncing back from mistakes with a next-play mentality. Currently ranked No. 2 in the state.

Aarion Gould, INF/RHP, De La Salle, 2029

5-foot-7, 160-pound athlete with present strength in the box and feel for the barrel. Athletic actions that show on both sides of the ball. High motor on the field, plays the game with a competitive edge. 

Noah Fountain, 3B/SS, Brother Rice, 2030
A recent attendee of the Illinois Rising Stars Game, Fountain is a must-follow name within the state’s emerging rising freshman class. A primary shortstop by trade, the Brother Rice product spent time at both the six and the hot corner, showing advanced defensive actions with a notable extended grab at the hot corner during White Sox Ace’s Sunday consolation matchup. At the plate, the right-handed hitter showed a strong and athletic right-handed swing with a developing feel for the barrel. Playing up a class, Fountain held his own and should continue to improve his overall game as he gains strength, athleticism, and polish while entering high school this fall. Twitchy 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame.

Cylis Rainey, OF, Mount Carmel, 2029

Strong, athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame currently ranked No. 5 in the state. Impact ability on both sides of the ball. Went 1-for-3 at the plate, highlighting the day with a no-doubt home run over the left-field fence that jumped off the barrel. Took over in relief and was sitting 83-87 mph while reaching 88 mph with consistent velocity throughout the outing. Worked 2.1 innings, allowing one hit while striking out three. 

Chase Watson, OF, Brother Rice, 2029
Currently ranked No. 30 in Illinois, continued to show the makings of a must-know name within the state thanks to his present athleticism, feel for the barrel, and projectable 6-foot, 185-pound frame. The right-handed hitter finished the weekend 4-for-10 with a double, seven runs scored, six RBIs, and four walks. Presenting a wider base at setup, the Brother Rice product uses a simple trigger to consistently get into a position-of-launch with a slightly uphill bat path. Defensively, showed fringy actions while getting reps in right field throughout the weekend.

GRB Northstar 15u Navy

Sam Drieman, 2B, Cretin-Derham Hall, 2029

Athletic frame with an aggressive, high-energy style of play that impacted the game in multiple ways. Consistently produced loud contact while utilizing advanced speed to pressure the defense, stretching singles into doubles and doubles into triples. Shows a strong understanding of situational baseball, using the short game effectively and controlling the strike zone with a patient approach at the plate. Defensively, displayed an advanced arm and reliable actions in the middle infield. 

GRB Rays Green

Sy Pelton, SS, Reedsburg, 2029

5-foot-7, 170 pound-frame with room for added strength. Defensively he displayed quick actions, ability to throw from multiple slots, and range up the middle. At the plate he has a wide set-up and small trigger with the hands. He was 2-for-2 with an RBI against Top Tier Americans. 

Sutton Nelson, RHP, Waupun, 2029

Showed well on the mound Friday afternoon, striking out six through four innings pitched against a very talented lineup. Did this overpowering hitters with a FB 85-87 mph, mixed in a CB at 69-70 mph and SL at 73-74 mph. 

GRB Rays Illinois 2029

Fernando Lendechy, SS, McHenry, 2029

Lendechy emerged as a name to follow earlier in the summer and has continued to show quality actions on both sides of the baseball. Originally from Southern California, the shortstop showed quality fluid and athletic actions that played up thanks to a mature internal clock. At the plate, the right-handed hitter showed a line-drive-oriented swing with some feel for the barrel that played up throughout the weekend, thanks to evident acumen that was evident in his relatively mature at-bats. 5-foot-8, 192-pound frame with some present strength and developing athleticism.

Matthew Loeffel Jr., OF/RHP, Cary-Grove, 2029
Arguably one of the weekend’s biggest winners, Loeffel emerged as a must-know name in Illinois’ rising sophomore class. At the plate, the right-handed hitter finished the weekend 6-for-13 with two doubles, a home run, two RBIs, four runs scored, and one walk. A balanced base in setup, Loeffel has a simple operation, an efficient upper half, and a toe-tap trigger that consistently got him into a position of launch with a slightly uphill bat path. On the mound, the right-handed arm showed quality stuff during his Saturday afternoon start, working off a mid-80s fastball that topped out at 87 mph. He would pair it with a developing low-70s slurve, which has the early makings of an above-average offering as he continues to move through the high school ranks. Relatively new to pitching, Loeffel worked purely from the stretch, creating deception from a low-3/4s release. Athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with room for added strength.

Christopher Williams, 1B/C, Jacobs, 2029

Strong 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame. Throughout the weekend showed some present and developing tools that make him a name to follow within the Illinois rising sophomore class. At the plate, the right-handed hitter presents a balanced base and a small leg kick trigger that gets him into a position of launch with a level bat path and strong barrel. Defensively, got reps at both first base and behind the plate, showing advanced actions at both positions. Name to follow as he continues to develop.

Roman Lentine, RHP/C, Huntley, 2029

5-foot-10, 140-pound frame with long levers and room for added strength. Took the mound on Thursday in relief and shut the door, dealing two and two-thirds shutout while striking out three and allowing zero runs. A controlled descent down the mound into a twitchy foot-strike with a deceptive ¾ slot with a compact arm action. Showcased a heavy fastball at 77-79 mph, T80 and spun a tight breaking ball at 73-75 mph. Competed with conviction every pitch. An arm to follow in Illinois.

GRB STIKS

Emmett Dargatz,1B, Waterford, 2029
A two-sport athlete, Dargatz has continued to show a physical right-handed bat in front of our staff. Standing at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, the rising sophomore has plenty of present strength and could be able to add more down the road. With an athletic setup and swing, Dargatz uses a simple leg lift trigger to get into a position of launch with a slightly uphill bat path. Still developing a feel for the barrel, the young bat has the makings of one of the better bats in Wisconsin’s 2029 class thanks to present strength and above-average athleticism for his size.

Brennan Frohmader, RHP, Menomonee Falls, 2029

Frohmader emerged as a name to follow earlier in the summer and would continue to show a quality profile on the mound. Working solely from the stretch, with a higher leg lift and an over-the-top release, the rising sophomore showed above-average actions on the mound to pair with a developing two-pitch mix. The fastball would sit 78-81 mph, showing some carry, while being paired with a 65-67 mph curveball with depth and 12/6 shape at its best (11/7 shape at times). Developing 6-foot, 150-pound frame with room for added strength.

Colin Peterson, SS, Pewaukee, 2029

Peterson was a major offensive catalyst for the eventual 15U division champs, showing a loose, athletic left-handed swing that was consistently on the barrel with some authority. Presenting an upright base in setup, Peterson uses a simple toe-tap trigger to get into a position of launch with a wider base, allowing his loose, quick hands to get in plane at a consistent rate. A line-drive oriented approach, the Pewaukee product showed an ability to spray the field thanks to a present feel for the barrel and a comfortable presence in the box against all sorts of pitching. Defensively, showed developing footwork and hands while holding down the six throughout the weekend. His present tools at the position play up thanks to his present baseball acumen and should age well accordingly. Wiry, twitchy 6-foot, 157-pound frame.


Chase Thomas, LHP/OF, Catholic Memorial, 2029
Currently ranked No. 24 in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. Thomas sports an athletic 5-foot-9, 141-pound frame with an athletic repeatable delivery utilizing a side-straddle and a leg-kick to his chest. Thomas hides the ball behind his body with full arm-circle leading to a clean ¾ delivery. His fastball sat 79-82, T83 mph with life, utilized best at the top of the zone. He tunneled that with two quality breaking balls both sitting 70-72 mph with the ability to get whiffs. 

Halos National 2029

Mason Krofta SS, Franklin, 2029
5-foot-8, 140-pound athlete with an athletic presence. Quick out of the box and shows a polished approach at the plate, using the entire field while consistently driving the ball gap-to-gap. Reliable defender with soft hands, smooth actions, and the ability to turn two efficiently. Vocal leader on the infield who plays with confidence and elevates those around him. Currently ranked No. 43 in the state.

Hayden Jones C/3B, DeForest, 2030
Physical 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame with the strength and presence to anchor the left side of the infield. Defended third base with confidence, showing soft hands, quality footwork, and the ability to make both the routine and difficult plays look easy. Produced loud contact throughout the day with a present feel for the barrel. 

Elijah Johnson, OF, Whitefish Bay, 2029
Strong 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with athleticism that translates on both sides of the ball. Consistently produced loud contact while working a mature gap-to-gap approach. Above-average runner who impacts the game with his speed on the bases. Hits from a tall setup with a controlled, short leg kick and balanced lower half. Currently ranked No. 32 in the state.

Anthony Ramirez, 1B/LHP, Greendale, 2030
Projectable 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame with present strength and additional upside. Turned in an impressive offensive performance, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk while consistently controlling the strike zone. Shows a mature approach for his age with the physical tools to continue developing. An intriguing freshman prospect with plenty of room for growth.

Hitters 2029 - Navy

Jake Barth, OF, Oak Creek, 2029

Currently ranked No. 36 in WI.  physical 5-foot-8, 170-pound frame with a knack for the barrel. A simple setup and a small leg kick with a fluid right handed swing; mature approach to pair. Drives the ball with authority and makes it look easy. Finished the weekend 5-for-13 with three XBHs and four RBIs while scoring four runs. A big bat that will surely make some noise in the coming years.

Chris Worrell Jr., C, Oak Creek, 2030

Continues to look the part of one of the best young bats in the country. Polished lefty-swing with a pre-set coil and heaviness to his barrel that punishes baseballs to all fields. Consistently on the barrel all weekend with a real feel to hit and a mature approach that makes quality swing decisions each trip. A premium athlete that is a definite follow in the 2030 class and will quickly become one of the top names in the country.

Matthew Nolan, OF, Greendale, 2029

6-foot, 165-pound frame, athletic with some room to add strength in the coming years. Strong left-handed bat, coils the hands in his load with a medium/short stride, works with a steep path to the baseball with a line-drive approach, routinely on the barrel in front of our staff. 

Hitters Black 2029

Justin Les, SS, St. Laurence, 2029

5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with room for added strength. Les has a no-stride approach, a small trigger with the hands, and focuses on working gap-to-gap. At the plate, he was 1-for-3 with a double to center field with two rbi’s. Defensively he showcased soft hands and the ability to throw from multiple slots. 

Impact Sports Academy Royal

Porter Meach, 3B/RHP,  St. Francis, 2029

Strong, physical frame with an impactful offensive presence throughout the day. Consistently produced loud contact, working gap-to-gap with authority while collecting a double, triple, five total bases, and two RBIs. Hits from a tall, balanced stance with quick hands and advanced plate discipline, showing the ability to stay patient, work deep counts, and drive pitches to all fields.

Max Runk, SS, Stillwater, 2029

Advanced feel for the strike zone, consistently working quality at-bats and reaching base in every plate appearance. Finished 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs while applying constant pressure on the bases with twitchy athleticism and plus speed. Defensively, showcased smooth lateral range, turned multiple double plays, and displayed an advanced arm across the diamond. 

Holden Semans, CF, Sermaine Blaine, 2029

Athletic 6-foot, 155-pound frame with an offensive approach that consistently produced quality contact. Went 2-for-3 with four total bases, driving the ball with authority while utilizing advanced speed to take the extra base. Hits from a relaxed setup with a minimal leg kick and fluid bat path, allowing him to stay on time and cover the zone well. Quick out of the box, with his athleticism translating well to center field where he covered plenty of ground and tracked down fly balls with ease. 

Abraham Hanson, RHP, Champlin Park, 2029

Athletic 5-foot-8, 160-pound left-hander delivered a quality complete-game performance, attacking hitters with confidence and filling the strike zone. Fastball sat 77-78 mph, touching 79, generating both weak contact and swing-and-miss. Showed a 71 mph changeup, landing it for strikes early in counts, while mixing in a 68 mph curveball to keep hitters off balance. Works with mechanically sound lower-half drive and extension, repeating his delivery well throughout the outing. Final line: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 6 K.

Mason Lewandowski, OF/RHP, Cretin Derham Hall, 2029

A standout from the weekend standing in at 5-foot-8, 155-pounds. On the barrel consistently in front of our staff with a feel to manipulate the barrel to drive the ball to all fields. Utilizes a toe-tap to create rhythm into a fluid left handed swing with quick hands and a line-drive approach with a bat that gets on plane consistently. Also hopped on the bump and sat 81-84 mph, T85 with cut, as well showing some feel to spin a curveball at 72-74 mph. An intriguing follow in Minnesota’s 2029 class.

Tate Johnson, RHP/SS, Sturgis Brown, 2029

Currently ranked No. 209 nationally. 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Stays stacked down the mound well with a bow and arrow arm action at a ¾ slot. Throws the ball downhill well with a heavy fastball with run/ride at the top of the zone that sat 82-84 mph, T85. He also spun a tight breaking ball with depth at 72-74 mph. Can really spin the ball with plenty more to come as he adds strength to the frame.

PTA Thompson 15U

Carter Hyland, RHP/MIF, Waukesha West, 2029

Currently ranked No. 22 in Wisconsin. Wiry 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame with plenty of physical upside. Hyland took the mound on Friday and delivered a strong look in seven innings where he struck out nine batters and gave up two runs. Creates a deceptive look with a compact arm action at a ¾ slot into an explosive footstrike that creates a whippy arm and uncomfortable at-bats. Displayed a two pitch mix with a fastball that sat 79-82 mph, T83 with arm-side run and snapped off a breaking ball at 68-71 mph with depth and generated plenty of whiffs. Real chance for some big jumps as he continues to add to the frame and mature. 

Erik Muresan, RHP, Arrowhead, 2029

Athletic 6-foot-4, 175-pound frame with a clean, projectable delivery and a feel to pitch. Turned in an impressive six-inning start against a quality lineup, consistently filling up the strike zone while maintaining a 78-79 mph fastball throughout the outing. Mixed in a sharp 12-to-6 curveball that generated multiple swing-and-misses and landed for strikes, while also showing confidence in a 71-72 mph changeup with quality fade. Attacks hitters and displays the three-pitch mix.

Top Tier IN 15U American

Mike Mitchell, SS, Center Grove, 2029

Currently ranked No.15 in Indiana. Athletic middle infielder with feel for the game on both sides of the ball. Went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, consistently putting quality swings on the baseball and showing the ability to barrel pitches to all fields. Quick out of the box with a smooth, controlled left-handed swing and quick hands through the zone. Defensively, displayed soft hands, fluid actions, and vocal leadership in the infield while playing with confidence and energy throughout the game.

Fletcher East, RHP, Franklin Central, 2029

Currently ranked No. 15 in Wisconsin. Athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame turned in an impressive outing on the mound. Attacked hitters from the first pitch, consistently getting ahead in counts with quality strike throwing and first-pitch strikes. Fastball sat 77-80 mph, touching 81 mph, while a sharp 12/6 curveball at 62-64 mph generated consistent swing-and-miss and kept hitters off balance. Finished with a complete-game effort of seven innings, allowing one earned run while striking out six. A name to follow. 

Dempsey Steinnetz, 1B, Marist, 2029

Currently ranked No. 28 in Illinois. 6-foot, 190-pound frame with present strength in the lower half. Went 1-for-2 with one RBI and a walk. Gap-to-gap approach and showcased quality swings throughout the game. Big power profile with present strength and more to come.

Chicago White Sox ACE 2028

Gavin Jones, SS/RHP, Bishop McNamara, 2028

Ranked No. 45 in Illinois. Long levered 6-foot, 180-pound frame. High waisted athlete with plenty of room to add strength. Utilizes a no-stride load while hands load back into a fluid left handed swing. Present feel for the barrel with a mature approach and feel for the strike zone. Defensively he presented clean actions up the middle with an apparent internal clock at shortstop. Also jumped on the mound in relief with a fastball that sat 78-80 mph, T82 mph and spun a tight breaking ball in the low-to-mid 70s. A high-level athlete with ease to everything he does. Definite follow in Illinois.

Hayven Gamboa, C/UTL, Mount Carmel, 2028

Currently ranked No. 66 in Illinois. 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame with plenty more to add; twitchy actions that translated on both sides of the ball. On the barrel generating hard contact all weekend. Utilized a traditional step into his load into a fluid right-handed swing that covers the zone. Defensively showed athletic actions behind the dish with strong hands that stole strikes; in the outfield he showed present instincts to track. Went 3-for-4 with a HR, 2B, and 5 RBI’s; just a triple shy of the cycle. Keeps getting better and making strides every time we see him.

Madden Nunn, CIF/RHP, Whitney Young, 2028

6-foot-2, 215-pound frame. Currently ranked No. 69 in Illinois. Present strength in the box and feel for the barrel with a line-drive approach and quality swing decisions to pair. Utilizes a quiet load with a small step into a fluid right-handed swing. Also displayed quality actions at first base making some difficult plays in the infield. Big bat to keep eyes on this summer.

Delval Desavieu III, INF/RHP, Homewood-Flossmoor, 2029

5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete with plenty of room to add. Took potent cuts all weekend with feel for the barrel. Wide base paired with a fluid right-handed swing and no-stride load. Also showed a high 70’s fastball with a feel to spin a tight low 70’s breaking ball. Plenty to dream on in the coming years as he continues to mature and add strength.

Aden Gutierrez, 2B/OF, St. Rita, 2028

5-foot-9, 160-pound frame with twitchy actions that translate on both sides of the ball. Showed some present strength in the box with plenty more to come. Utilizes a small leg-kick and creates tension in his backside which in turn creates a whippy barrel through the zone. Drove the ball with authority all weekend. Line-drive approach. A bat that is sure to make strides in the coming years.

Elite Baseball Training West Dolan

Isaiah Wolter, C/OF, Oswego East, 2028
One of the bigger winners on the weekend. 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame currently ranked No. 36 in Illinois. Twitchy actions that translate in the box and behind the plate. Utilizes a simple leg kick load and separates well into an explosive right-handed swing. Present bat speed in the box as well as feel for the barrel that generated loud contact all weekend long. A vocal leader behind the dish with a high motor that is present pitch-to-pitch. He was 7-for-11 on the weekend with a double, homerun, six RBIs, and four BBs. A tooled up backstop that is a N2K in the state of Illinois. Set to represent Team Illinois at the Future Games later this month.

Luke Torrance, RHP/INF, Aurora Catholic, 2028

An athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with an athletic repeatable delivery that utilizes a small leg-kick into drift that moves quickly down the mound. Full arm-circle into a loose ¾ arm action and pitches with conviction. Present pitch-ability and knows how to attack hitters. Quality three-pitch offering with a heavy fastball that sat 83-85 mph, T86 mph. Slider sat 72-74 mph with depth and paired with a curveball at 68-70 mph with 11/5 shape that generated whiffs. Punched out five in three innings in a brief look on Saturday morning. An arm that is poised to tick up as he continues to mature.

Johnny Gillen, RHP, Wheaton Warrenville South, 2028

A presence on the mound standing in at 6-foot-6, 200-pounds with plenty more to add. Jumped on the mound in relief on Friday in relief during a 3-2 ball game and shut the door while overwhelming hitters. A clean and repeatable operation that works downhill and synchronizes movements well. In three innings of work he punched out six and gave up none. A solid three-pitch mix with a heavy fastball that sat 79-81 mph, T82. He spun a breaking ball at 70-72 mph that had depth to it and generated whiffs; flashed a changeup at 73-75 mph with late fade. An arm to follow in Illinois that could make some big jumps as he continues to mature and add strength.

Mason Traysor, LHP, Oswego East, 2028

Uncommitted. 6-foot-6, long-levered and highly projectable frame. Easy delivery that gets downhill, some cross-fire in the operation with deception, tall/fall downhill - arm plays from a compact arm circle into a high ¾ slot, hides it well. Fastball played 82-84 mph, topping at 86 mph with some tilt and angle through the zone. Curveball showed big 1/7 shape at 68-71 mph - also paired with a straight changeup at 73 mph. 

ESP 16u American 2028s

Jason Rieser, SS/RHP, Naperville North, 2028

Athletic 5-foot-8, 160-pound build. Clean footwork and quick hands up the middle. In a short outing on the mound, he sat 76-79 mph, topped 80 on the fastball.

Brayden Scalf, INF, Horlick, 2028

Current No. 78 ranked player in the WI ‘28 class. 6-foot-1, 181-pound frame. Showed well in front of our staff with six hits this weekend, four of those going for extra bases. Seemed to be catching barrels in nearly every at-bat. 

GRB Northstar 16u Navy

Jack Manion, RHP/3B, Cretin Derham Hall, 2028 

Currently ranked No. 8 in Minnesota’s 2028 class. Long-levered 6-foot-4, 169-pound frame with a simple, repeatable motion with a high leg-kick. Manion threw a heavy fastball with life, sitting 83-85 mph, T86 mph with a tight, sharp 11/4 breaking ball sitting 73-77 mph. 

Daylon Holter, RHP/3B, Sartell Senior, 2028
Athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Clean and repeatable from the stretch with a high-leg kick. Bow-and-arrow arm motion into a high ¾ slot with full extension. Overwhelmed hitters at times with a heavy fastball, 85-86 mph, T87 mph. Showed a breaking ball that had sharp 11/5 movement with bite. Struck out four in two innings of work in his outing on Saturday. 

Emmitt Rentas, C/RHP, Mankato West Senior, 2028
Currently ranked No. 3 in Minnesota. A 5-foot-11,190-pound frame with a fluid right-handed stroke and a knack for the barrel. A mature approach that utilizes a leg-kick load that gets quality swings off every at-bat; widens up with two-strikes into a no-stride look. Present strength in the frame with quality actions behind the plate; present ability to block with a strong arm to pair. Set to represent Team Minnesota at the Prep Baseball Future Games later this month.

Will McDowell, C/RHP, Oconomowoc, 2028

5-foot-8, 175-pound frame. Handsy left-handed swing with an accurate barrel. Hit .545 in 11 at-bats on the weekend with six hits and one of which leaving the yard to dead-center field. A left-handed bat to follow in Wisconsin as he continues to mature.

+Braedon Paczocha, C/1B Mukwonaogo, 2028

Currently ranked No. 1 in Wisconsin. A physical 5-foot-11,180-pound frame. Utilizes a small toe-tap into a polished right-handed swing with a knack for the barrel and present strength in the box. Creates tension in his back-side well to create some easy strength and whippiness to the barrel. Behind the plate he showcased a mature field presence that slows the game down for his staff with advanced movements and soft hands that stole plenty of strikes. Set to represent Team Wisconsin at the Future games later this July. A premium backstop who will be making plenty of noise on the summer circuit. 

Callen Mirek, OF/LHP Kettle Moraine, 2028

6-foot, 160-pound frame. Prototypical lead-off hitter with present feel to manipulate the barrel and hit the ball hard to all fields. No-stride load with a fluid left-handed swing and a barrel that stays on plane through the entire zone. Showed well on the mound, throwing six shutout innings, striking out four. Defensively, showed quality actions in the outfield. High-ceiling as he continues to mature physically.  

Max Egan, OF/3B, Whitefish Bay, 2028

Currently ranked No. 27 in Wisconsin. Stood out with a 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with a presence in the box. Showed present feel for the barrel and strength in the box all weekend that exclusively made loud contact. Utilizes a small leg kick into plant and hands stay behind the ball well into a polished right-handed swing that can drive it for extra bases to any field. Hit 5-for-14 this weekend with two doubles and a bomb to dead center field. A big bat that is sure to gather plenty of attention in the coming years.

Eli Hart, SS/RHP, Bay Port, 2028

Currently ranked No. 4 in Wisconsin’s 2028 class. 6-foot, 180-pound frame with a presence in the box. Creates tension in the backside while he separates well into a fluid right-handed swing. Drives the ball with authority to the gaps. Dropped the head on a no-doubt homerun this weekend and made it look easy. Defensively at short showed fluid actions with an accurate arm; paired well with an apparent internal clock. One of the top shortstops in the midwest; set to represent Team Wisconsin at the Future Games later this month. 

Hitters 2028 - Navy

Maddex Welzien, SS/RHP West Bend West, 2028

Currently ranked No. 2 in Wisconsin’s 2028 class. Long levered 6-foot-170-pound frame. Twitchy actions in the box that was on the barrel in practically every look this weekend. Small leg-kick with pre-set hands that create tension in his backside which translates into quick turns with a present ability to get on plane and drive the baseball. A mature approach with smart swing decisions that attacked early in the count. Defensively presented clean actions with an accurate arm across the field. Made every play his way this weekend and went 8-for-17 on the weekend with six RBIs in the leadoff spot. Scary potential as he continues to add strength and mature. One of the premier shortstops in the midwest. Set to represent Team Wisconsin at the Future Games later this July.

Dominic Bombien, MIF/RHP, Franklin, 2028

5-foot-11, 170-pound frame currently ranked No. 50 in Wisconsin. Present bat-to-ball traits shined all weekend with some strength present in the box that produced loud contact routinely. Feel to manipulate the barrel to hit the ball where it’s pitched and made quality swing decisions each trip. Utilizes a small toe-tap to create rhythm in the swing and hands loaded shoulder-high. Defensively he displayed clean actions in the infield with an accurate arm. A lefty bat that is a definite follow as he continues to add strength. 

Yanni Douros, C/MIF, Shorewood, 2028

5-foot-8, 165-pound athlete currently ranked No. 52 in Wisconsin. Strong lower half with quick hands and present bat speed in the box; feel for the barrel to pair. Gap-to-gap approach with athletic actions that translate to both sides of the ball. Finished the weekend 6-for-14 with two doubles and four RBIs. A bat to know in Wisconsin.

Gaston Lopez Jr., CIF, St. Patrick, 2028

Really looked the part this weekend controlling some long levers with a 6-foot-4.180-pound frame. Fluid right-handed swing with some weight to the barrel and ease to the operation. Utilizes a small leg-lift that separates well to create some whippiness to his swing. A quality defender at third base that made plays ranging in and throwing cross-body look easy. An athlete that really projects and is a name to follow as he continues to mature and fill out his frame.

Camden Jeske, OF/LHP, Oak Creek, 2028

Currently ranked No. 11 in Wisconsin. 6-foot, 170-pound frame. Utilizes a small leg-lift while sitting back in a coiled back-side into a whippy left-handed stroke with present feel for the barrel with some heaviness to it. Plenty of loud contact all weekend. Went deep to dead-center-field on Sunday and made it look easy. Set to represent Team Wisconsin at The Future Games later this July. High Ceiling as he continues to mature and add strength. Definite follow in the state of Wisconsin.

Hitters UDC Black 2028

Sonny Mateja, RHP, Montini, 2028

6-foot-2, 165-pounds, lean and wiry with all sorts of room to add strength. High upside arm with much more to come physically. Clean mover with a simple and in-line delivery, arm is loose and plays from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 82-86 with over 2,400 rpm - paired well with slider in 72-73 mph range with 10/4 shape, 2,500 rpm. Flashed changeup at 77 mph and kills spin on it. 

Kamden Johnston RHP/OF, Lincoln Way-East, 2028

A projectable 6-foot, 180-pound frame with an easy repeatable delivery with ease to his operation that uses a belt-high leg-kick into a quiet-clean footstrike. Efficient rotator with present arm speed at a ¾ slot. Raw athlete that overwhelmed hitters in his start with a heavy fastball with life at the top of the zone that sat 87-89, T90 mph. He also spun a tight slider with depth that he threw for strikes at 74-76 mph. He dealt five innings of shutout baseball while punching out 10. Plenty more to come as he continues to get innings under his belt. Set to represent Team Illinois at the Future Games later this July.

Louie Franczak OF, Addison Trail, 2028

5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete with twitchy actions that translate to both sides of the ball. Simple approach with a no-stride load and hands loaded back that allows him to be ready to hit. Strong wrists and present strength in the box that drives the ball with authority to all fields. A raw right-handed bat that is only going to get better.

Austin Bielski, C/OF, Lockport, 2028

A physical 5-foot-8, 185-pound frame. Easy strength in the box with tight-turns and a fluid right-handed swing. Gets his arms extended well to pull the ball with authority in the air. Launched a homerun to deep left-center field on Sunday and made it look easy. A big right-handed bat to follow as his game continues to mature.

Nick Minikel, RHP, Manitowoc Lincoln, 2028

Currently ranked No. 89 in Wisconsin’s ‘28 class. Lean, high waisted 5-foot-9, 154-pound build. Simple delivery; controlled leg lift into a ¾ slot. Fastball sat an easy 77-79 mph, topped out at 81 mph. Paired two sharp breaking balls; a 65-66 mph curveball with an 11/5 profile and a 67-68 mph sweeper. Went 6.2 innings for his start, allowed three earned runs, struck out five, walked none.

Carter Hoeffler, MIF, Muskego, 2028

Currently ranked No. 30 in the WI ‘28 class. Lean, athletic 6-foot, 160-pound frame. Smooth defensive actions up the middle. Showed well with the bat on Thursday, going 2-for-3 and blasting a no-doubt home run to left field.

Top Tier Nationals -Rios

Lawson Stanner C, Hinsdale Central, 2028

6-foot-3, 195-pound frame; physical lower half. Showed mobility and athleticism behind the dish. Right-handed hitter; open setup into a smooth swing with a one-handed finish. Went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run to left field in Thursday’s opener.

Joel Schmitt LHP, Plainfield, 2028

5-foot-11, 180-pound frame. ¾ delivery from the left side. Fastball sat 75-78 mph, topped 80 mph. Showed feel for a changeup that played at 67-68 mph. Also utilized a breaking ball in the low-60s. Pitched four one-hit innings; struck out nine, walked three.

Carl Pedersen MIF/RHP, Hinsdale Central, 2028

5-foot-6, 155-pound frame. Presented a compact right-handed swing with a line-drive approach and a present feel for the barrel. Efficient rotator that uses a small leg-kick with a barrel that stays in the zone sporting a fluid right-handed swing. Defensively showed an apparent internal clock with an accurate arm to pair. A name note as he continues to mature.

White Sox Elite 16U Scout

Devin Hopkins RHP/3B, York, 2028
Wiry 6-foot-4, 185-pound frame. Compact arm-action with ease to the operation and present arm speed from a ¾ arm action. FB sat 81-83 mph T84 with arm-side run as well as a tight breaking ball at 74-76 mph for whiffs that made for uncomfortable at-bats. Punched out eight hitters in 5.2 IP while giving up no earned runs. An upside arm with plenty more to come as he adds strength and matures. 

Sawyer Smith, LHP, Glenbard West, 2028

Uncommitted. 6-foot-5, 180-pounds, long levered and lean with room to add strength. Dominant three-pitch mix in our look with a clean delivery. Smooth mover with a medium leg-lift, slight cross-fire stride downhill - loose arm from a lower ¾ slot, struggled to sync the delivery and arm at times but this is normal considering his 6-foot-5 frame and young age, should get better with time. Fastball sat 82-84 mph with natural sink and run, paired with a changeup at 74-76 mph with similar shape and release window. The slider is developing feel with 2/8 shape, 74-77 mph.

A consistent performer in front of our staff this summer. An athletic long-levered 6-foot, 180-pound frame with a present feel for the barrel and tight, quick turns in the box. Also a left-handed arm to note with plenty of physical upside.

Jaylen Camacho MIF, Crystal Lake Central, 2028

Athletic 5-foot-11, 176-pound frame with room to add. Fluid actions in the infield. Twitchy, compact right-handed swing; mature approach with above average plate discipline. Caught two hard barrels on Thursday night. Blasted a two-strike curveball to left field for a solo home run.

Myles Jenkins, RHP, New Trier, 2028

Projectable 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame. Simple mechanics; high leg left into a coil on the backside. Full arm action, easy ¾ delivery. Fastball sat 79-81 mph, topped 82 mph. Paired a sweeping slider at 67-68 mph, and a changeup at 73 mph. Feel for all three pitches. Threw six shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out 11.

Noah Correa, INF, St. Patrick, 2028

Currently ranked No. 61 in Illinois. Lean, athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame. Shows a simple, adjustable swing. Got hot late in the weekend, going 3-for-6 with a double, triple, and four RBI in his last two games. 

Charlie Dobry, OF, Maine South, 2029

Dobry has a wiry-athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. He shows a balanced setup with a short stride and a gap-to-gap approach. He went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the game against Top Tier.

Illinois-Chicago commit. Currently ranked No. 26 in the Illinois. Lean, physical 6-foot-1, 201-pound build. Combines barrel control, power, and speed to be a legitimate offensive threat. Had a loud weekend in front of our staff, going 7-for-12 with a home run, six RBI, and five walks. Hitterish look with athletic hands and feel for the barrel, power is present and will continue to make strides. 

Elite Baseball North 17u Lutz

Alex Kolcier, RHP, Warren Township, 2027
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 193-pound frame, Impressed in his start against PTA Cardinal. Kolcier showcased a four-pitch mix. The fastball sat 85-87 mph topping 88 with arm-side-run. The cut-fastball was at 80 mph, tight movement, played off fastball, swing-and-miss ability. The slider sat 77-78 mph, 10/4 action, played off the fastball and cutter. The Curveball sat 74 mph, 11/5 action with bite, used as a put-away pitch, tunnels off fastball. Kolcier pounded the zone with 75% strikes. He struck out nine, walking none, and allowed six hits with one unearned run, in seven innings of work.

Had a good day on both sides of the ball Friday night. Strong 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with a gap to gap approach at the plate. Driving a single to the opposite field for an RBI in a key spot late in the game. Defensively multiple picks at first base as well.

Vinny Udd, CIF/RHP, Denfeld, 2027

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 124 in the MN ‘27 class. Physical 6-foot-5, 238-pound left-handed hitter. Hit out of the three-spot for three of the five games, accumulating three hits in seven at-bats. Showed plate discipline with five walks to one strikeout. Has also been up to 87 mph on the mound at a previous event. Interesting prospect to follow as he enters his senior campaign.

Griffin Epema, OF, Montevideo, 2027

St. Thomas (MN) commit. Current No. 32 ranked player in the MN ‘27 class. Lean 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Went 5-for-11 for the weekend against strong pitching, including a solo home run to left. Showcased above average speed, stealing eight bases over five games. Clocked a 60 time of 6.83s at a previous event.

Kalin Jochum, INF/RHP, Chaska, 2027

Uncommitted. 2025 PBR Future Games Alum. Currently ranked No. 31 in Minnesota’s ‘27 class. Athletic 6-foot-3, 206-pound frame with room to add. Collected five hits in ten at-bats, with three of those going for doubles. Also made two appearances on the mound, where he showed a fastball that sat 78-83 mph.

Currently ranked No. 35 in Wisconsin. Physical 5-foot-9, 206-pound frame. Line-drive approach that consistently produced loud contact all weekend. Head and hands stay still through contact with a small leg-kick into a polished right-handed swing; present bat speed in the box to pair. Currently but not for long, one of the top uncommitted backstops in the Badger state.

Halos National 2027

Derrik Beckstrand, RHP/1B, Elkhorn, 2027

Currently ranked No. 33 in Wisconsin. High waisted 6-foot-4, 240-pound frame. Smooth lefty stroke that utilizes a small leg lift and showed off easy strength to all fields with present feel for the barrel. He was an impossible out in a look on Friday where he went 4-for-4 with two doubles to the opposite field and a home run. Jumped on the mound in relief on Thursday and sat 88-90 mph, T91 while spinning a CB at 73-76 mph with 11/5 shape and turning over a changeup at 81-82 mph with fade. One of the top two-ways in Wisconsin.

Gentry Madsen, MIF, Parker, 2027

Currently ranked No. 65 in Wisconsin. A projectable 6-foot, 180-pound frame with a gap-to-gap approach and feel to manipulate the barrel to drive it hard to any part of the field. An athletic defender up the middle with an accurate arm. Went 6-for-12 on the weekend with six RBIs on the weekend. One of the top uncommitted bats in the state. 

Zachary Steichen, OF/1B, Brookfield East, 2027

Currently ranked No. 60 in Wisconsin. A physical 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame with twitchy actions that translate to both sides of the ball. A compact left-handed stroke with present bat speed and feel for the barrel; quality actions in the outfield to pair. An uncommitted bat sure to garner plenty of eyes this summer.

Kevin Brau III, OF/RHP, Union Grove, 2027

Currently ranked No. 100 in Wisconsin. An Uncommitted, physical 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame with a fluid RH stroke and present strength in the box. Went 6-for-12 on the weekend with an XBH and two RBIs.

Logan O’Brien, RHP/SS, Elk River Senior, 2027

Currently ranked No. 155 in Minnesota. 6-foot, 175-pound frame with a deceptive delivery, ¾ slot with feel to spin and turn it over from each. His fastball sat 81-83, T8 4mph with run/ride, changeup was 74-76 mph with fade and he spun a slider at 70-72 mph that had depth and generated whiffs. Pitched with conviction while punching out seven, walking 2, and surrendering one earned run. An arm to follow in Minnesota.

Alexander Kakach, RHP, Wayzata, 2027

Creighton commit, currently ranked No. 3 in Minnesota and No. 229 in the country. Impressive look at the athletic right-hander, clean up-tempo delivery with a coil into a medium balance point, works in-line down the mound, quick arm and high ¾ slot, compact circle. Fastball sat 90-92 mph with life through the zone, playing heavy with over 2,500 rpm. Showed a cutter with a short wrinkle at 86 mph, spinning around 2,700 rpm. Bullet slider in the 78-83 mph range with over 2,700 rpm.  

Rake City 17u Gold 2027

Nick Baca, OF, Riverside-Brookfield, 2027

Uncommitted. Physical 6-foot, 200-pound frame with broad shoulders. Strong left-handed bat with impact in the barrel, feel to hit with present power to the whole field, was on the barrel all weekend, homered to the opposite field. Simple and strong swing with a controlled load and direct path, ball jumps off the bat with minimal effort, high-level hit tool against quality arms, minimal chase or swing/miss.

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 132 in the IL ‘27 class. Physical 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame with room to add. Showed upside on the mound, showcasing a fastball that sat 85-88 mph, topped 90. Paired a breaking ball at 73-74 mph.

Ranked No. 109 in Illinois. 5-foot-8, 150-pound athlete with a clean repeatable delivery and plenty of athleticism throughout; present pitch-ability. Utilizes a belt-high leg kick that stays stacked down the mound. Compact arm action with a ¾ arm slot. Efficient rotator through his front-side. Competed all game with a four-pitch mix with a fastball at 85-87 mph, T88 mph with run/ride; slider at 74-76 mph with sharp sweep, curveball at 70-72 mph with sharp; 11/5 shape and turned over a changeup at 74-75 mph with fade. Dealt a one-run complete game where he punched out 12, walked one, and scattered three hits against a loaded MN Icemen Trig quad. Created uncomfortable at-bats all game in the nightcap on Saturday. An arm that projects as he adds more strength to the frame.
