Central Illinois Summer ID: Preview Story

This Tuesday, July 7th, the Prep Baseball Illinois team is hosting the Central Illinois Summer ID at Corn Crib in Normal, IL. This is an open event for 2027-2030 high school grads, and gives our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

EVENT HISTORY

We've been hosting this event for the past 12 years, and it has provided us a look at prominent players who've later gone on to receive invitations to select events, like the Prep Baseball Future Games and Illinois State Games. Among those in attendence of the Central Illinois Summer ID event in 2025, 14 have already made commitments.

Body: 5-9.3, 182.1-pounds. Athletic frame with some strength present throughout.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open setup, works back to even with short toe-tap stride. Easy swing with strength, flat path, can stay inside the baseball and drive it to all fields. 69.4 mph bat speed with 21g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 mph max exit velocity (90.6 avg.); 329-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Short 3/4 arm action.
Defense: pop time range; Two hand gather into body, works around, smooth actions.
Athletic Testing: 7.57 runner in the 60-yard dash; 20.50-inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge: 56.81 Edge Score.
