Position-by-Position: Breaking Down North Carolina's 2028 Rankings

With the release of the updated North Carolina Class of 2028 Rankings, Prep Baseball continues its position-by-position look at one of the deepest classes in recent years.

While the overall rankings are built through a holistic grading process, those player grades are then used to organize the state's best prospects by position. The positional rankings provide additional context on the depth and strength of each group while helping identify the top players at every spot on the diamond.

For the 2028 class, positional designations are based on how players currently list themselves in their Prep Baseball profiles. As more information is gathered through future events, game coverage, and continued development, our scouting staff will continue to refine those profiles and projections.

Below is a look at the top players by position in North Carolina's Class of 2028, highlighting the depth that exists throughout the state as players continue to develop heading into a pivotal recruiting period.
