Matthew Laurentino

The NY Summer Championships brought some of the top talent in the region to The Lumberyard in Cortland, NY, with players from the 2025-2031 classes competing over three days of game action.

Numerous players elevated their stock throughout the weekend, showcasing high-end tools, impressive athleticism, and impactful in-game production. Below, we take a closer look at the top performers from the Northeast Invite and the players who made the biggest impressions throughout the event.

Brendan Brodzinski OF / Maple Hill Junior/Senior High School, NY / 2027

The 6'1" - 180 lb wiry OF continued his breakout summer with a big 4-4 day including 2 doubles. At the plate, Brendan works from an upright setup with rhythmic hands, using a short stride to create rhythm and coil into the back hip before driving explosively through impact. He creates launch with his slightly uphill swing path displaying gap to gap power on Saturday afternoon!

Reagan Corcoran C / Rocky Hill High School, CT / 2028

The 5'6" - 180 lb physically built backstop put together a big performance on Sunday to help lead his team to semifinal win. Reagan turned in a productive offensive performance Sunday, collecting a pair of hits highlighted by a clutch two-run single in the first inning with the bases loaded that gave his team a 3–2 lead. The timely hit reinforced the offensive traits he displayed throughout the event.

At the plate, he has a quiet balanced setup with his hands at ear-height. During load, Reagan double taps his front foot which enables him to keep his weight back and drive the ball with a natural uphill swing path. Behind the plate, he flashed advanced catch-and-throw ability, working quickly off his right knee with a smooth transfer before firing a strike to second base to complete an inning-ending strike-'em-out, throw-'em-out double play.

Alex DiNatale LHP / Foran, CT / 2029

The 5'9" - 170 lb projectbale LHP showed off an advanced 2 pitch mix on Sunday leading his team to a semifinal victory. Mechanically, Alex has a long and clean arm in the backswing with a high release point enabling him to hide the baseball while getting extension downhill making the ball jump out of his hand. The FB sat 80-81 topping 82 MPH paired with a true 11/5 CB sitting 65-68 MPH proved to be a tough combo to barrel up for hitters when executed.

Luke Hoffman OF / RHP / Shenendehowa High School, NY / 2029

The 6'0" - 160 lb wiry athletic 2-way showed off some above average physical traits over the weekend, helping lead his team to a 16u championship. Across 4 games, Luke proved to be an top of the lineup spark plug hitting .583 with 6 Runs / 2 2Bs / 2 SBs and threw 2 Innings with 4 Ks and 0 Rs.

At the plate, Luke has a wide setup with his bat rested on his shoulder. During the load, Luke creates rhythm with a short stride before delivering a quick, aggressive swing on a level path, allowing the barrel to stay through the zone for consistent contact. On the mound, Luke has a loose and whippy arm with a low 3/4 release that helps generate ride and run on his FB which sat 79-81 MPH and topped 82 MPH.

Ben Kaulback RHP / CBA-Syracuse, NY / 2027

This marked my third in-person look at the 6'3" - 185 lb long, wiry right-hander this month, and it was easily his most impressive outing to date. In the semi-final game, Kaulback was dominate across 5 innings of work racking up 11 Ks and 0 ER. Mechanically, Ben works exclusively from the stretch with a loose and whippy arm that generates above average horizontal movement on his pitches. The FB sat 84–86 MPH and topped out at 87 MPH, showing quality ride through the zone with slight arm-side run that allowed it to play well against hitters. The SL/SW was the standout offering, working 71–73 MPH while translating its underlying metrics (17" of HM at NY State Games) into game action with sharp, late sweep, consistently missing barrels. He also mixed in a 76–78 MPH CH that flashed fading action and gave hitters a distinctly different look off the FB. If he continues to refine the feel and consistency of the CH, it has the potential to become a legitimate third weapon and elevate an already intriguing arsenal into one that can create significant problems for opposing hitters.

Olivier Parent 1B / De Mortagne, QC / 2029

The 6'1" - 194 lb physical prospect established himself as one of the tournament's breakout hitters, batting .500 with three runs scored, four RBIs, and four extra-base hits, highlighted by a two-run home run. He consistently impacted the baseball with authority throughout the weekend, firmly putting himself on the radar. At the plate, Olivier works from a balanced setup with rhythmic hands. During the load, he utilizes a pronounced leg kick to gather into his back hip, creating lower-half leverage before exploding through impact. Despite being slightly long to the baseball, his quick hands and steep uphill swing path allow the barrel to accelerate through the zone, producing the loud contact and game power he showcased all tournament.

Carter Robilotto C / RHP / Mill River Union High School, VT / 2029

The 5'10" - 185 lb physical prospect showcased his impact as a true two-way player, putting together one of the tournament's most productive offensive performances. He hit .467 with driving in eight runs, scoring four times, and collecting four extra-base hits, highlighted by three triples and a two-run home run. Additionally on the mound, he showed an intriguing three-pitch mix. His ability to consistently produce loud contact and impact the game in multiple ways made him one of the standout performers of the weekend.

At the plate, Carter has a quiet balanced setup with his hands held ear high. During load, he has a short leg kick that helps gather into the backhip and explode through impact for loud contact to the pull side. During the swing, his hands work beneath the baseball allowing the ball to backspin and launch off the barrel.

On the mound, Carter operates with a deliberate, repeatable delivery, utilizing a long stabber arm action through the backswing before releasing from a three-quarter slot. He attacks hitters with a polished three-pitch mix, headlined by a FB that sat 78–79 MPH and topped out at 80 MPH, showing quality ride through the top of the strike zone. He complements it with a CB that sat 68–69 MPH that casts out of the hand with sharp 11/5 shape and late sweep. His best secondary offering was the 71–73 MPH changeup, which generated late arm-side fade and depth.
